I do apologize for my recent absence, but have been rather preoccupied with overseeing the art installation now covering much of the museum's grounds. I'm afraid it only looks like lightbulbs on the end of sticks in daylight. But at dusk the majesty shows itself. I would encourage others to see it for themselves now that it is ready.

On a smaller, more personal note, the Dracula Simia has come into full bloom. I am told they do not like full sunlight, are symbiotic in nature, and difficult to grow. I do not know if this is true. The woman that owns this establishment has informed me that it is not a good idea to keep such a fragile flower outside, for Attelon weather is known to shift dramatically with little warning.

I take my duties seriously, and right now my duties involve all citizens of Attleton, regardless of other affiliations... or my personal views.

Some are like small living works of art. It takes a far more careful study, but it is possible to trace their origin.

[ She almost kicks herself for the pun there, one she didn't realize until after she said it. ]

I'm kind of a fan of weeds, actually. [ She holds up a hand. ] I know how that sounds, but I think it's kind of neat. They're just what grows naturally on the earth there, but because people want to control everything, they try to kill them and call them a word that's got a negative connotation, regardless of what they are because they're not what's meant to grow there. So things like dandelions, tomatoes, and clovers end up being called weeds even though they're just what was there already and they're really useful.

[ They're probably the only flowers she really knows much about too, since most of the plants she grew up around were weeds. Gotta know which ones are edible. ]

Given a name like Dracula Simia, it sounds pretty logical to not really keep it out in the sun. Maybe have a small area dedicated to darkness or something like that.

A shaded window, perhaps? There are many growing things surrounding the grounds of the apartment complex already.

Something like that or a cover of some sort would be a benefit as well.

All plants grow in different ways so all need to be tended to in a certain way as well.

I have a question, from all the cities, why did you chose to live in the one who has a Rebel from your world for Guardian?

From what I understand the name 'Dracula' means 'little dragon', rather than a reference to a name. It requires only a small amount of blood along with shade, thus the difficulty in growing it.

As I told Captain Andor; I have been here for some time, it is only now that I allow him to know. I chose Attelon for the level of privacy it affords me. And it is only here that there is such a profusion of growing things.

I didn't know that. We have a real Dracula in the city, if I am not mistaken. I wonder if he knows that he is named after a flower. Human blood or any kind works?

Thus far it has been raised on human blood so I would assume human blood would continue to sustain its needs. Since humans are common, I do not see a difficulty in finding them.

[ Thrawn is totally brushing off any repercussions him living in Attelon causes. He's not stupid, though. He's very aware it will cause a fuss. ]

I do think I have found a compromise for your writing.

Okay, this raises new questions. The first one being, who's blood did you use? Did you find a dedicated gardener that didn't mind being food?

Miss Grell gifted me a few of those pencils, they works really well. Thank you still, but I got that issue covered.

I purchased it from a human merchant. As the last two fingertips of his left hand were bandaged I deduced he was feeding the plants himself. They do not require much. I am told a drop or so every two to three days is sufficient.

Excellent. Then you should have no trouble writing out the modifiers for 'engagement'.

[ Of course Thrawn is thinking military, but it doesn't have to mean that. ]

If it doesn't have to be fresh, you could check if they have blood in any Everglade market. Even if it's small, an open wound in the hand or a finger has a 48% of chances to end infected, 70% if you work with dirt.

I had time to practice a bit on my own, I no longer break the pencils. Engagement, hm?
