001 (Backdated to yesterday, late afternoon)

[The video opens to the familiar sight of the Bay, the device being held by a large bald man in a finely crafted suit. He gazes down at the device, light blue eyes almost seeming to glow in the gloom of the bay, face perfectly neutral.

He continues to stare down at the device in silence, the only sound being the waters of the bay echoing off the stone walls. Finally, just when it seems the recording will only consist of a creepy bald guy staring at the phone, he speaks, his voice deep and calm.]

"Testing."

[Action (Near the Bay and around Genessia)]

He leaves the Bay, comes upon Weiss' hologram, and listens patiently, still showing no signs of emotion. When it's done speaking, he grabs some of the pamphlets and brochures offered and leaves to explore the city. In one gloved hand he carries a black metal briefcase, bearing an interesting symbol in silver.

He'll be exploring the city until well after nightfall, then get a late dinner at wherever's still open and head back to Genessia Commonspace.

((OOC: Cheatcode hint: 47 likes kids and animals, in case you'd like a higher chance of a positive interaction.))

Well... There are six known continents, four of which are inhabited by anything substantial enough to consider civilization. These four contain four kingdoms by the names of Atlas, Mistral, Vale, and Vacuo. In addition to the kingdoms, there's an island called Menagerie which was given to the faunus as a peace-offering to help end a war over faunus rights. [ But geography. ]

Atlas is to the north, and where I was born. It's colored white on maps because it's always cold, frozen and snowy. It's beautiful, but a harsh environment to live in-- and also why Atlas is first in technology development because we were forced to adapt more quickly than other areas.

It's not a harsher environment than Vacuo, though, a desert kingdom that lives largely by the survival of the fittest rule. It actually has less racial tensions between the faunus and humans because the only real significance there is how well you survive.

Vale is a far sight more civil, or.. it was, until Beacon Academy was taken down by the White Fang, a number of Grimm, Cinder's faction, and an overwritten force of Atlesian robotic soldiers. A large dragon-type Grimm was frozen on top of the Cross-Continental Transmit tower that's been attracting the Grimm since.

Then there's Mistral, which is a very diverse kingdom known for their contributions to various arts, whether it be theater or fashion, architecture or art.

The rest of the world is either nature, lost, or small villages. Most people don't choose to live in the villages because of the significant risk of Grimm or bandit attacks- a lot of places disappear or die out completely overnight outside of the kingdoms. That's one of the reasons our world has such a complex system of huntresses and huntsmen, or else we'd essentially be extinct.

That would be the fault of the Grimm. Grimm are soulless monsters, manifestations of darkness and destruction. Though they come in many forms, they have consistent traits of being black with white and red accents and they're all murderous. They can sense and are attracted to negative emotions, like fear, loneliness, despair- they often prey on people who are already in trouble. They nearly drove civilization extinct, until we learned to utilize our auras for combat.

Faunus are people. They're very similar to humans, usually with one animal trait plus night vision and a few other traits.

All kinds, but only singular traits- so no one person would have a tail and ears. The variety itself is vast. I know someone with rabbit ears, cat ears, I've seen people with horns, antlers, claws, fins... My boyfriend has a monkey tail, actually.

[ She's happy to answer. She loves showing off how knowledgeable she is about things, after all. ]

The faunus as a people haven't exactly been treated fairly by humans. They still aren't, even if it's better than it was. Humans tried to centralize their species in Menagerie entirely and faunus revolution groups staged a number of retaliatory attacks. The faunus did win the Faunus Rights Revolution, of course, and there were a number of factors involved. Eventually the faunus were given legal equality and were allowed to live anywhere they pleased, but in the aftermath a group known as the White Fang formed. Originally it was a group created to promote peace and unity between humans and faunus, but when humans still continued to discriminate, they became a more violent group. Eventually they engaged in acts of terrorism, and now even many faunus who once believed in their cause have condemned them despite seeking further rights and equality.
