Data Collection [ VIDEO | OTA]

[The video clicks on and Spock can be seen in ~~his natural habitat~~ his lab at the Genessia Research Foundation. Everything is scarely in order, with not a single beaker out of place. If anyone knows him well enough, they might notice the slightest etchings of fatigue on his features.]

Good evening. As some of you may know I have been studying the barrier which surrounds us, but as I am currently unable to get in close proximity of it my data is limited. I am curious if anyone has and knowledge and/or experience with barriers, this one or otherwise who might be willing to impart that knowledge onto me. I believe it would greatly expedite my progress.

I am also interested in collecting information from everyone about the worlds in which you are all from and your own traits and lives to see if there is some shared attribute which might have attracted whoever is behind out joint abductions and links us all together. If we can determine the reason we were taken then perhaps we can determine what we it is we must do to return to our homes.

Oh, you've spoken my language! I haven't been able to get much but perhaps we can collude as I'm more than willing to explore outside of it and figure out the mechanics of this place whether it be a temporal rift or some kind of fracture or just an ingenious transmat-- Though in your case, I suppose transporter would be more accurate.

Though, of course, transmat came first. Just in case you were curious. Even if you account for relative timelines, and I have. I can even show you the calculations except you'd lack the context I have.

What's out thar is a wasteland with a liviad atmosphere and creatures - that might have been the former residents of this world.

That's when the spirits were leaking though from the other side.

So I've heard. But don't tell me for a fact what you've not seen with your own eyes. How can I even trust them? Whoever they are.

[Orihime doesn't respond right away. She spends a good moment studying his video and trying to figure out what he is. An elf? A scientist robot? A scientist elf robot?]

[After she has herself a proper giggle, she considers whether or not to respond at all. He seems to be in earnest about his studies, and the information could prove useful to all of them. Another pause...then she locks the video just to him.]

I've used my powers to pass through someone else's barrier before, and I can manifest my own out of my spiritual energy. But I admit that I don't know too much about my abilities. They're still kind of new to me!

[She inclines her head in greeting.]

Because they're the only bureaucrat here not giving me trouble about helping others because I want to rather than it being a job.

Oh, hello, don't think we've met, but yeah, I've got a bit, well... quite a bit.

I'd be interested in seeing the data you've got so far, happen to be following a few leads of my own, actually, got a theory or two, well, a thing, bit of a theory, not sure which bit just yet.

Well, in my experience barriers tend to go down if you hit them enough. I'm guessing someone's tried that?

As for the rest of it... what sort of information are you looking for? For one, we don't have cars. And as far as personal life goes...well the less said the better

Well that's great if you want to go uninhibited helping people, but in terms of what's beyond the barrier, who knows? Not that they're lying but how do we know we can't see things better than they can? Get a different perspective even?

Anyway, that's fine. You think what you want. I plan to explore it.

It's either looking for a door or a way down. Can't go sideways, can't go up and can't time travel.

Go right ahead. I haven't been able to do much looking with everyone showing up.

Nor do I seem to do anything right.

My world is most similar to Fayren, that it is. Back home I was known as the Wise King of the Forest, that I was.

I have never met another of my kind. I was told that I resemble a Djungarian hamster, but they are far smaller, that they are.

Into the sky, you've checked it out with the TARDIS?

[Because there's a good chance he would, if couldn't just get a response he trusted just by scanning it.]

Guessing she can't dematerialize--can't access the Time Vortex--orrr... whot, gets pulled back in? What actually happens if you try to take off, if you try to leave?

[Because there's no way he wouldn't have tried that, too. Obviously, something that can trap a TARDIS is pretty significant, though; the question is whether it's just being overpowered, or if there's a trick.]

[There's a long pause and looks at himself like himself should know the answer if Ten is still here. Emo - your younger self is emo. What a surpise]

Nothing happens. Probably the same thing that is making us blind.

[Which Ten doesn't mean literally - he means as far as their time sight goes. Another long pause]

And considering how death works here - I going to take a wild guess that something would also block our ability to regenerate fully as we should.

...ah, yeah, well, maybe for the best, can you imagine three of Eyebrows all at once?

[He's going to take his amusing thoughts where he can. ...especially since he already knows he at least has some camaraderie with his prior regeneration when it comes to being scandalized at certain elderly, grouchy bodies.]

So, TARDIS can't reach the Time Vortex, maybe can't find it, int'resting...

It costs to come back. Fayen's barrier stays strong by sacrifices. offerings. Personal offerings. For whatever the reason may be. Everglade's barrier requires fear to keep it maintained. Still trying to work out the others.

Or something was taken from the Tardis so the Tardis could exist in this space.

[ Boy you are stealing her job with the organization. That's her work she does to relax herself when she's stressed.

Weiss quietly reminds herself that she doesn't own the organization of the lab space, and can go through the binders later to make sure everyone else's data is thoroughly organized. ]

There's a new project I want to suggest for the GSRF. If you're working on the barrier, Spock, it may have some relevance. Anyone else in the GSRF willing to work on the project is fine with the understanding that it is a strictly observation-only project. If you instigate the circumstances needed to study it I will personally come for you with whichever City Guardian is relevant in tow.

Who wants to sign a temporary confidentiality agreement?
