[Audio] First Contact
[There's nothing but the sound of breathing at first. Distant, echoing sounds of traffic and civilization. Almost as if he were in an alley, halfway up a fire escape. Something that might be the sound of someone wetting their lips.]
Hi.
[A space then, where the thought of a laugh might fill it but nothing does.]
I'm Glenn. I-
[There's a noise, almost disbelieving.]
So this... It's some kind of purgatory, right? I know there was information. Something about...spirits, and kidnapping? Only I'm not sure how kidnapping works exactly if you're already dead. Never been good at all of that religious stuff.
[A pause, and then a sigh.]
So am I close? I just know there's no way I'm alive. Trust me on that one. Anyway, this place... It isn't even touched. No way a real city looks like this. Maybe the...message when I got out of that thing had more information. I didn't pay it much attention.
I was kind of waiting for her to tell me I was her only hope.
[Glenn takes a deep breath, more purposeful this time. He sounds more certain, when he speaks again.]
I guess this is my way of saying that I'm looking for answers. If anyone's got them.

Re: [Audio]
One where the dead are walking around and people are still our bigger problem? And a couple of those messages were actually among the most beautiful things I've ever seen.
Here... If you do all that they come back the same, right? Not... different. Not something else.
[Audio]
You mean the walking dead? No, not...shambling, spirit-inhabited corpses anyway. I suppose they would be more accurately described as the previously dead. They recall their deaths but are very much currently alive.
Re: [Audio]
[Glenn makes a sound of relief.] Okay. Good. I was kind of looking forward to a break from the walkers.
[Audio]
[He pauses for a moment.]
Walkers? You aren't the first to call them that.
Re: [Audio]
There was someone else here? Who?
[Audio]
[With a tone that suggests he's curious and will probably look it up.]
Well, I don't think she "was", precisely. She said her name was Maggie? Does that ring a bell?
Re: [Audio]
[He sounds legitimately apologetic, at least a little. Then, there's nothing from the other side, not a breath as his heart catches in his chest.]
Maggie. [He repeats it, like he's afraid he misheard.] Maggie Greene? Do you mean she's still here? Do you know where?
[Audio]
[And yes, I will be looking that up.]
Perhaps? Family names lose their importance when one is extracted from their world and hurled millions of miles through space and time. She did, however, describe a world in ruin, decimated by the walking dead, to which she referred to as 'walkers', as you have. She also suggested this undead affliction effects all in your world upon death, regardless of the cause. Does that sound familiar?
Re: [Audio]
[He tried to keep his heart from further leaping in his chest. Chances were, even with the world in the state it was, there was probably more than one person named Maggie.]
It could be... Was this...recently? If she just got here there was that free housing. She might be there.
[It was getting a little unclear whether he was talking to Dorian or himself, towards the end.]
[Audio]
[He knows that tone, but that doesn't mean he isn't going to respond.]
Indeed she may. I directed her to them.
Re: [Audio]
[He still sounds distracted more than anything except maybe hopeful.]
Thanks.
[And then there's nothing.]
