Betelgeuse had been intrigued by the small, turtle-like creature he had acquired. He spent the last two weeks bonding and training the little guy, though not exactly Pokemon training. Instead, Betelgeuse was training Squirtle to appreciate pranks and the value of scaring people.

Now, however, Betelgeuse just wanted to have some fun.

Betelgeuse found the top of an unimportant building in Genessia City and juiced it to be water-proof. He had Squirtle fill the roof with water, creating a giant swimming pool. Betelgeuse changed his clothes into what he considered a very sharp pair of white and black striped swim trunks. He splashed around, laughing. Squirtle swam around, occasionally shooting out streams of water down on passer-by below, making Betelgeuse laugh even harder.

The only question was who would show up to complain and who would join the party?

Yuri looked uncertain for a moment, but despite being strange Beetlejuice hasn't given her a reason not to trust him yet. At least none that she's sure she wouldn't give other people and other people trust her. So she decides to go along with it, though administer a warning.

"Sure, but Dewott stays with me in case I run into anything suspicious and they better all be in tact or you're going to be double-dead when I get back, mister!"

The rest of her Pokemon all scramble back into the water at that and she turns to go get herself a decent bathing suit.

Betelgeuse just waved his hand idly, neither impressed nor bothered by the threat. He understood and would keep the creatures safe.

"Yeah, yeah, babes, they're in good hands!"

He wondered, if he could teach them a prank or two.

Yuri runs off after that, waving her hand back at him as she exits. She'll take a few minutes, but it doesn't take her long to find something. She already knows her sizes and everything, so it all boils down to just finding something she likes.

In the end, she ends up going with a simple pink bathing suit, strapless, with a bit of frills on it. It's a comfortable fit and, while still a bikini, certainly fits her tastes a lot more than a red, shiny little skimpy thing. She changes in the store and comes back running with her clothes all in her bag instead, planting her hands firmly on her hips when she gets back up there. Dewott, hanging off of her right shoulder, appears to have gotten a pair of sunglasses while they were out too.

"See? Much better!"

"Looking good, babes! And, as you can see, your poke-critters are in good shape," Betelgeuse told her, leering. "Do I get a reward for being good?"

"Unless you count being in my presence as a reward, there's no chance in hell."

Yuri moved to get into the water, Dewott hopping off of her back and going for a swim when she did.

"We're not in hell," Betelgeuse pointed out reasonably, grinning. "Still, I've been offered worse rewards."

He watched, leaning against the side of the roof and watching her swim.

"You will be if you try anything weird."

Yuri and reasonable arguments didn't always stand side by side, alright.

"You didn't seem like the kind of guy who enjoys swimming in pools though. It's pretty unexpected."

"I make hell nervous, babes. Pretty sure that isn't a good threat," Betelgeuse scoffed.

He blinked at her last comment, head tilting to the side in thought.

"Say whut, babes? What kinda person doesn't like swimming in pools?"

The confidence in his words almost made her laugh. She couldn't really blame him though. After all, she was once the girl who claimed she was going to punch God in the face.

"Probably someone who couldn't swim, or someone who's worried about getting sunburnt!"

"Okay, maybe, but I'm not either of those people," Betelgeuse said, chuckling. "This is as burnt as I get and I swim just fine. So, you must've been winning quite a few battles to have so many poke-critters."

"Something like that. I just wanted a big group. I'm used to working in a team, after all.."

Though her last 'team' so to speak was much bigger.

"Bit of a lone wolf, m'self, but I getcha," Betelgeuse said. "Me, I'm focusing on the little guy. I'm hoping to make a real prankster out of him."

"I used to be..."

Yurippe glanced to the Squirtle in question, swimming a little closer to get a good look at him.

"Well, I grew out of it when I realized that some things can't be accomplished alone. But with just the two of you, that's not really a lone warrior sort of prankster combo anyway."

"No, I guess it's not," Betelgeuse agreed idly. "Just most people can't keep up with me...or don't want to. The prudish, rule-bound types, y'know? Kinda get tired of all the disapproval. It's not like I'm some bad guy or something."

"I know what you mean. I was stuck in a world that was basically just a high school for a long while. The staff could be pretty rule-bound, and the student council president could be pretty fierce at times.. Though at least she was human, unlike the staff."

Yuri smiled and moved her hand through the water to try to splash Squirtle, ready to duck under the water if he tries to squirt her back.

"So I understand what you mean! Not being the bad guy, and all that."

"Yeah," Betelgeuse agreed, gratefully. It wasn't often someone looked at things from his point of view. "Didn't you say the high school was in your world's afterlife?"

Squirtle watched her hand avidly, grinning. When the splash came, he jumped above her and the splash, so it just caught his legs. Squirtle aimed a squirt of water at her, from the air.

Yuri didn't have time to answer Betelgeuse before Squirtle was making his move, causing her to yelp and duck underneath the water. If you get squirted while you're underwater it doesn't really do much, does it?

Yuri peeks her head above the water, looking around for Squirtle, then quickly pops up to finally answer the question.

"Exactly!"

Betelgeuse watched them play, cackling. He used his juice and lowered the water level so it was too shallow to disappear under. Squirtle laughed aimed another spray of water at her.

"Sorry, babes, but I don't want him getting discouraged!"

Yuri yelps when the water suddenly goes down, drawing her hand up to at least protect her face.

"That's cheating! He shouldn't get discouraged, he should get creative!"

Betelgeuse restored the water. He didn't mind cheating, but he did want Squirtle to learn to be creative.

"Fair enough, babes, fair enough," he soothed. Squirtle squawked, but Betelgeuse silenced him with a wink and a sly grin.

Yuri was definitely suspicious of anything involving a wink. Nothing ever came good from that, but she wasn't about to give up. Sure, she'd just said no cheating but when had that ever stopped her in the past? She needed a plan.

Or at least to signal Hina★cchi the Dewott under the water to squirt Betelgeuse in the back of the head with a water jet if anything weird happened. Mantyke was drifting by too, so Yuri reached out to grab him and physically throw him- yes throw him- at Squirtle before ducking under the water herself to try to swim at him to sneak a splash in while he was distracted.

Squirtle squealed, as the Mantyke came down at him, trying to backpedal out of the way. Spinning, Betelgeuse sent a pillar of water up, underneath the Dewott, trying to get him out of the game. Laughing, Betelgeuse turned into a jellyfish and headed for Yuri, trying to wrap her in his tentacles.

Yuri's eyes quickly darted back to Dewott, who was thrown up by the pillar of water. She does have some pretty good reflexes, but looking for a jellyfish under water in a rooftop pool made by a Squirtle? Not exactly what she's looking for. So when she suddenly feels tendrils wrapping around her, she immediately jumps at the first sign of being touched, then starts yelling almost immediately.

"Get off of me!"

Honestly, if it's a jellyfish she isn't 100% sure if it's a Pokemon or an honest to god jellyfish with poisonous tentacles that's going to kill her or what. But no one gave her a heads up about Betelgeuse's abilities, really, so it might take her a second to realize that it's him. Not that it's going to stop her from attempting to punch down into the water right into him, regardless of who he is, since she's never really been the type to hold back in terms of violent behavior as an immediate reaction to things.

Because she's mostly a friend, Betelgeuse saved the more lewd groping for someone else/later. Instead, he ran a tentacle ever so lightly across the bottoms of her feet. Breathing types tend to be ticklish there, right? He certainly wasn't put off by a few punches. It was hard to laugh as a jellyfish, but Betelgeuse tried.

It was a good thing that he saved that, as Yuri has a known history of throwing people off of rooftops or letting them fall off of cliffs into a spike pit for crap like that. The tickling, however, merely made her fall over in the water because honestly? She was definitely ticklish on her feet.

And she was also loud. Ridiculously loud. Probably heard for multiple blocks loud.

"STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!"

..Of course it was also punctuated by flailing and laughing, so it lost some of its punch.
