[Action]
It had been a little while since the incident at the Midnight Channel, and a lot had happened in the intervening time. Mitsuru had been sent back home already, leaving Shinji, Junpei, Minato and him to try and get settled into the city without her. A rather herculean task considering of the group Mitsuru had always been the responsible one. Akihiko had attempted to step up, but the wounds he recieved from Shinji's shadow had slowed him down. However, now that he was confident that everyone was settling in and he was able to walk across town without pulling out some stitches, he made his way over to the Attleton Guardian's office.
He didn't want to be there, but he didn't really have much of a choice. They deserved to know what was going on. When he opened the door, he was wearing a surprisingly stylish suit, in stark contrast to the look of the shirtless super hobo that had gone charging through the deputies.
"Um... hello? My name is Akihiko Sanada. Guardian Ondore wanted to talk with me regarding the recent incident..."

no subject
"There's no Guardian here with that name." His optics study Akihiko up and down, then he tilts his head and leaves the tablet he was working with on the nearest desk. "You're that kid that crossed the subarchway without permission. So sorry, I didn't recognize you at first with your nipples covered."
Go figure, the man could wear clothes.

Akihiko came to apologize and explain the situation so as to avoid future hostilities. However, if that's the attitude Kay was going to take, it just wasn't in Akihiko to not respond in kind. This is why he's not a diplomat.
"It's my understanding that I did have permission to come and go through that subarchway as laid out by the previous guardian, and you were overreaching your authority by trying to stop me."
Sorry Kay. He's still a tad salty about the whole thing himself. "Cassian is expecting me."
no subject
Kay is being...Kay. He isn't mad anymore at Akihiko but he's not terrible fond of the kid either. However, he can be professional. Kinda sorta.
"Guardian Cassian Andor is in his office, at the end of the corridor, second door on the left." He motions towards it with a long arm. And then, because curiosity get the best of him and he has no concept of boundaries, Kay adds. "What was that creature you summoned?"
no subject
Akihiko sighs, letting the frustration and aggression out. When he spoke, it was a calm and explanatory tone. "That was my Persona. It's like... another me. It's hard to explain, but the shadows that inhabit the Midnight Channel? Personas are the polar opposite. There are a couple other Persona users here that I'm aware of. We all have extensive experience fighting Shadows."
no subject
"Yeah, okay. That makes no sense. Don't tell me if you don't want but there's no reason to lie." Sorry Akihiko, someone's a little bit skeptical. "And that gun?"
no subject
"You're free to not believe me if you want, but that's the truth." He reaches into his jacket and pulls the Evoker out, offering it to Kay while holding the barrel so as to not appear threatening.
"It's called an Evoker. It serves as a sort of focal point that helps my friends and I summon our Personas."
no subject
But fine, Scott was going to give the kid the benefit of the doubt. He reaches for the gun and holds it carefully, mindful of its importance. Kay might not be exactly delicate with a lot of things but weapons are something he likes.
"It doesn't fire normal bullets or blasters? Who gave it to you? Are you ever concerned that it could malfunction and kill you?"
no subject
Akihiko just smirks at Kay's torrent of questions, scratching at the back of his neck awkwardly.
"I honestly have no idea how it works. It was given to me by a man named Takeharu Kirijo. Yeah... but it's the ability to stare death in the face and pull the trigger unflinchingly anyway that is central to calling a Persona. ...At least in the case of myself and my friends."
no subject
"I can't begging to list the amount of things that could go wrong if this things ever fails to work as intended." Snappy reply aside, he gently offers the gun back to his owner. "Try not to kill yourself, please. Imagine the paperwork."
no subject
"Believe me, I've got no intention of dying for a while. My friends and I stared death itself in the face and made it blink." He slips the gun back into its holster under his arm. "We're not done living, not by a long shot."
no subject
"Were you at war?"
no subject
He sighs somewhat nostalgically as he scratches at the back of his head. "They only came out during the Dark Hour, and anyone that the Shadows weren't targeting or had the same power as my friends and I turned into coffins and were blissfully unaware of it all."
no subject
And odd questions, perhaps. But given that the Empire were the ones in charge and also the responsible for most of the troubles in the Galaxy, Kay thinks it's a legit one.]
"Or they all turned into coffins too?"
no subject
Akihiko smiles fondly as he remembers Kurosawa sticking his neck out for the gang and ultimately being rewarded with a promotion. He was a good man and deserved it.
no subject
"I shouldn't keep you busy if Cassian is waiting for you."
no subject
When Akihiko made it to his office he'd find Cassian pouring over files on Attleton's latest eccentric murders, a Swablu sitting on his head and doing her best to build a bird nest from his hair. A small dog slept by his feet and would greet the newcomer enthusiastically, while Cassian remained guarded. He didn't expect an easy or pleasant conversation.
"Good, you're here. Thank you for coming."
no subject
Akihiko was quick to let go of that sort of thing. He'd learned long ago that holding onto grudges was only bad for his cardio. Still, he couldn't help but feel nervous. He hadn't exactly made the best of impressions with this guy, even after Blaze had left a note about him. Still, he didn't regret anything. He just hoped explaining Shinji's situation would help matters.
"Thank you for giving me a chance to explain things. I realize we didn't get off on the right foot, but I hope to make that up to you.
As much as he tried to maintain eye contact with Cassian, the Swablu's nest building was... distracting to say the least.
no subject
"Of course," he said, voice professionally pleasant as if he didn't have a bird on his head. "It was an unfortunate situation all around. You're one of the experts Guardian Blaze recommended to us and I want to have good working relations with you." He gave him a sharp look. "But attacking my Deputies is unacceptable. I hope you understand that now."
no subject
"It was an unfortunate situation, yes, and I had no intention of attacking anyone outside the Midnight Channel, however I was not going to let anyone slow me down either. You have to understand, had my friends and I not acted when we did, Shinjiro would've been dead."
He straightens his back slightly. He wasn't backing down, but he clearly didn't want to zap Kay either. "If Blaze left a report, then you should know just how dangerous it is for anyone to be in there for a prolonged period, and Shinji had already been in there for quite a while. I'd already lost him once, and I wasn't about to lose him again."
no subject
Cassian falls silent again. This is probably the time when he should admit to some wrongdoing of his own. It grates when he still believes himself wholly in the right here, and he knows General Draven would never back down in his stead, but in the end it has to be about duty. They need good working relations with the resident experts on TV World.
"We should have been the ones to contact you and the other experts Blaze had named."
no subject
He trails off for a moment, trying to decide whether or not he should explain things further about his relationship to Shinjiro, ultimately deciding Cassian deserves a full explanation.
"Shinji and I grew up together, we met at the same orphanage and were inseparable for years. My sister died in the fire that claimed the orphanage and Shinji was the only family I had left, and I was forced to hold him in my arms as he bled out in a back alley after taking two bullets to the chest protecting someone who had called him out there to kill him..."
no subject
He sighs heavily and runs a hand through his hair. "I can't say it's alright. But I can..." Another moment, an internal struggle, before he nods sharply. "I understand your actions."
Deep down he suspects he might have done the same, he knows he has made similar choices to shoot - unlike Akihiko, to kill - when he could have tried to talk.
"I wish we had met under different circumstances."

He gets out Blaze's files from underneath a pile of other files and checks for a name. He gives Akihiko a scrutinizing look. "You don't happen to know anything about a Tohru Adachi, do you?"
no subject
"I only know the name, and what was in the reports that came across Mitsuru's desk. I know he was here for a time before, but I've never met him or even know what he looks like."
He pulls his device as he brings up the contact information for the other SEES members. "There's myself, Shinji should be fine to help us after a few days of recovery, then there's Junpei Iori, and Minato Arisato. Minato was our squad leader in our world. He has a unique ability in that he can house multiple Personas and shift what he can do to better counter our enemy. We all would be more than happy to deal with any incidents the Shadows might pose."
no subject
"Yes, I would appreciate that cooperation. How about this, we secure the subarchway, and yes we'll have to think of stronger security measures, but if there's a breach next time we'll inform you right away. Your people handle what happens inside the archway and have full authority over that, we handle the outside as we did last time."
no subject
"That'd be fine. And I'll keep you updated on anyone that comes in that has a Persona, or if we find out anyone else here has one. I'll be honest, it could be that there are others from our world that has the power that we're not aware of. My friends and I thought we were the only ones until we bumped into a handful of students out in the country."
no subject
He stands up, offering his hand to Akihiko. "I think we have made a good compromise for how things have started out between us."
