[ Closed Log ] Lazy Lucy's bein' Lazy

WHO: Natsu and Lucy
WHEN: Right nao
WHERE: Lucy's room at Fairy Haven, aka Fairy Tail Mark II
WHAT: Natsu Dragneel, professional hairdresser. (...Okay not really. Also there may be tooth rotting cuteness.)

Several revelations came to light for Lucy recently. Some of which she isn't allowed to speak on, some of which she wasn't brave enough to admit to yet. At least to the person she needed to admit it to. Still progress ever moves forward~! Painstakingly slowly, but it moves forward.

Having been out most of the day, both to hang out with her guildies and friends, and to work, Lucy eventually returned home for a nice refreshing shower. However, problem. Even after changing clothes, her hair took forever to get properly dry and she didn't exactly have a hair dryer. Today wasn't a day she could call on Cancer so... she had few options. A) Stop being lazy and let it air dry, B) Hunt down Wendy and ask her to air dry it or C) Hunt down Natsu and ask HIM to heat dry it. Wow Lucy. Just. Wow.

... maybe she'll hunt down Natsu after all. ~~Such a lazy girl.~~

Well hopefully she wouldn't turn her head around now because he hummed in response to her words before leaning in close to lightly press his nose to the locks still in his palm. It wasn't even on purpose. He just felt compelled to do it. Now that she wouldn't notice.

Which of course means she notices. At least in the sense that she was about to turn around and make some teasing comment except.. the motion of turning her head slightly almost pulled her hair out of his palm. If it had been shorter anyway. Instead it had the effect of Lucy being practically nose to nose with the Dragonslayer, a startled look on her face. "Ah.." erm..

Luckily he snaps his head up but that in turn means he was right nose to nose when she looked back. Which meant he was well within range of the entrancing effects Lucy had on him.

"Errr this is...it just um...had a good scent.

Not the best choice of words but it was all he could do on short notice.

WOW he's close. Her eyes widened for a second, her cheeks growing pinker, "I... Is that so.." The smart thing to do would be to move back a little. "..I..um. Didn't use anything special.." Just some shampoo she bought in the other city, but it wasn't exactly scented. After a short pause, her gaze dropped to his lips, then darted back to his eyes, her cheeks getting warmer. Ahem. HE didn't see that right?

"Yeah." He said and took another brief whiff before finally leaning in closer and closer...wait what was that scent and sound coming closer? It sounded like claws. And the scent was distinct. It was too late though as Herb had already parked himself next to the two not!lovebirds and right on cue proceeded to shake the water off himself all over them.

Wait wait wait, why is he leaning in closer? Why is SHE leaning in closer? (Un)fortunately before anything happens, Herb busts in by the two, soaking wet and clearly pleased with himself. Lucy glanced towards him automatically and let out a startled shriek, ducking away from Natsu to hold up her hands to fend off the spray of water from wet puppy coat. "Augh! Herb, stop!!"

Given he'd just dried her off, Natsu immediately put himself between the flying droplets and Lucy. Which meant that: A: Lucy ended up pushed on her back. B: Natsu was no on top of her and C: his back was getting soaked.

Yes! He wouldn't want all that work he put into drying her to go to waste. Herb of course, ignored her protest because hey, when you gotta shake you gotta shake. More importantly, Lucy yelped in surprise when Natsu suddenly moved between her and the dog. Feeling that sudden weight on top of her, she almost didn't want to look. Oh god she looked. "N..Natsu..." T.. this is a pretty um... embarrassing position here buddy!

He really wouldn't. Though he was also more than aware of the position he'd fallen into on top of Lucy. And the moment she looked up at him he froze in place too.

"S-Sorry I just...moved without stopping to think." Natsu sputtered out before he felt Herb's shaking cease. He should probably get up now shouldn't he?

Erm. Lucy rested her hands against his shoulders, shaking her head, "I.. it's all right. Um..." Yeah getting up would probably be a good idea. She pulled her hands away, fingers brushing his back on accident at first, and then again, more surprised, "Ah, your back is wet." Though not for long. Also she pulled her hands away again because it was too tempting to leave her arms around him.

That touch sent a shiver of...something coursing down his spine but in the end he managed to keep his face mostly straight. Well as straight as it could be when he was almost bumping noses with Lucy.

"Ah...yeah I think it is. Well it's not a big deal." Natsu said with a mutter. "I should...get off of you now right?"

Lucy he just asked a question. Except she seemed to have forgotten that fact, staring at him with a blush on her cheeks at first. Then her brain processed the rest of the 'Natsu is on top of you' factor and filtered his comment to her. She blinked, quickly smiled, "A-ah... yeah, probably." Er, wait, no, definitely. Definitely should get up.

..though she had kind of been fine - wait, no, Nev was there and he'd probably ask what kind of game they were playing that involved Natsu being on top. Ohgod. Her life.

Part of him almost wished she had questioned his inquiry but when she agreed he hardly had any alternative without making things awkward again. Well more awkward than they already were. So after a few more moments of simply gazing down at Lucy with a look that was hard ot put words to, he finally moved away.

"Sorry. I didn't want you getting soaked again." even if that meant he would have to dry her off again.

Part of her wished she'd said no to the inquiry. She already regretted saying no, especially given the way he looked down at her. What was that look anyway? She kind of.. nevermind. "I know.. it's okay. If you want to do it again --" She paused. "I mean, would you mind..? If I asked you to - to dry my hair if I need to." She blushed sheepishly, sitting up properly. "You probably think I'm being lazy, huh?" Ehem. Well. She was. Kinda.

That look was something he was still trying to decipher himself. Not much luck though. He just knew it was awfully compelling as it made him do all sorts of small things that normally he wouldn't.

"Lazy? Nah I don't think so." Maybe if this was back when she joined Fairy Tail he might have called her that but he'd seen her and how hard working she was, how she gave it her all for the things that really mattered. So what if she would rather use his magic to dry her hair?

"I...wouldn't mind doing it again if I could."

It'll probably come down to either him figuring it out first or her being able to tell him certain things. Well when she first joined Fairy Tail she was pretty lazy and kind of selfish. that all changed for the better. Still his agreement made her smile, "Yeah? O-okay I'll.. um. If I need you to do it again for any reason I'll ask you to..since you won't mind and all."

Well figuring out was one thing. Actually telling each other would probably take another year of dancing around one another. Ah well. They would reach their destination eventually. Whether any of the people watching them would grow white hairs out of frustration with the two before that was an entirely different story.

"Yeah. Sounds like a plan. Ummm you feeling thirsty?" Natsu asked now that he was sitting up straight just across of Lucy.

Good point. It may be more likely that they going to make their supportive friends go bald out of frustration. At least Mira hadn't shown up yet, her matchmaking would doom them all. Or at least keep people from going nuts watching them dance around the issue. "Thirsty? Um.. yeah I am, kind of."

Oh god if Mira ever found them. Woe to their souls. As it things were at the moment though Natsu was in no rush to change things and Lucy seemed to be of the same mind.

When she confirmed his hunch he smiled a bit more brightly and stood up from the pool chair entirely.

"Okay. Just let me get this dry before we head in." And as soon as he said that the fire erupted around his body speed drying his back within seconds.

That was for sure. Lucy grinned back to match his smile, always warmed to see it. Giggling at his speed drying, she got to her feet, stretching once more, waiting for him to finish (in like, .3 seconds) before moving to join him on the way in. Though she was in a pretty good mood for some reason, unconsciously reaching out to rest an arm around his waist.

..Wait wat.

Hey he hardly needed to be as delicate with his own drying. Her good mood was certainly contagious. Then again he was more than used to touching her in whatever casual way possible. So when she started to move to do the same he didn't even so much as blink.

She was glad he didn't react to the casual touch- assuming it was simply due to their strong bond of fraaaaaandship, but Lucy wasn't going to question it either. And Nev wasn't going to say anything - maybe if he was Justyne's -sister- in which case they'd gossip for hours. But Nev? Nah. Unless he happened to say something without even thinking about it. Probably their level of comfort with each other also contributed to rumors about their relationship. Tsk.
