Hello, Mr. Nozaki, I need to request a day off. Sorry for the short notice but I can't go to work today...my body went through some changes after I visited Nova City this morning and I'm still dealing with them.

['Some changes' being the two visible horns in his head. Scott is trying to keep the camera steady so it only shows him from the shoulders up. His powers are gone and he is, for once, not wearing the glasses. Out of frame, in his back are a pair of leathery wings and a really long tail.

Said tail is attracting the attention of his dog but Scott doesn’t notice the pup approaching until Horatio sinks his teeth in his tail. Scott startles and yelps in response to the jolt of pain, wings flapping in surprise and dropping the camera in the process.]

Can you fly?

[She blurts out the question before she can help herself. The video isn't for her, she knows that. It would be best just to let him realize the mistake and fix the feed, but he's got WINGS and it's so interesting she really can't help herself! It's also the first time she's seen him without the glasses, but that's not weird since she's always run into him outdoors so she has no idea he's wearing them for Personal Reasons.]

[Before Scott can focus on the question, he's busy shooing Horatio away so the pup doesn't try to jump on him a second time.]

[That's definitely not his boss's voice. By the time he pics up his communicator from the ground and notice Orihime, Scott's face is all flushed with embarrassment.] Oh, hello. I screwed up the lock, didn't I? I haven't tried to fly yet.

Really? That would be the first thing I'd try if I had wings!

But I'm sorry you're not feeling good. I guess it was probably very startling.

A friend of mine can fly, he has feathery wings, like and angle. I...[Scott looks briefly over his shoulders. He's been trying to fold the wings behind himself again but he supposes that it doesn't matter now that Orihime already has seen them.]

...I look like a demon now. And yes, it was. I don't know why this happened, there was no one near me that could have cursed me or something.

Well, if you're not hungry for people's souls, I wouldn't worry too much about what you look like.

[She beams at him. He looks like he could use some encouragement.]

I think you look awesome! I knew someone back home who had bat wings. He wasn't scary at all, and neither are you.

Okay. I can take over today's judo lessons.
[ He sees the injury from puppy as a better excuse than turning into an incubus.]

I changed into a werebear.

[Marc's been meaning to speak this seemingly younger Scott Summers ever since he'd come to Genessia, moreso after he'd become a judo teacher at Sand Gym. Now sounds like a good time. He gestures at those 'changes' and chooses his words carefully.]

If it helps, I'm pretty sure those won't last. I was a werewolf last year and that sure didn't stick.

Are you feeling any different, otherwise?

[Scott grabs the communicator again after shooing Horatio away and keeping him entertaining with a dog toy.]

Sorry about that, the dog startled me. Thank you. [Waitasecond. Scott blinks, face visibly surprised now that he's not wearing the visor and Mayu's words sink in.] You what?

[Scott should have talked to him sooner as well but between work, his studies and trying not to bring attention to himself -failing spectacularly at that last part- he hadn't had the opportunity. ]

Mr. Spector...[Have an attempt at a smile, Marc, ruined by the effect he feels totally embarrassed.] That brings me some relief. Is this a normal occurrence every October then?

Is the first time I get turned into a demon and I look fairly different from the ones I've seen in my world. I'm...hungry. But food isn't helping to make the feeling go away.

[ He scratches the back of his head ]

I dunno if you wanted everyone to see this.

[ But at least it's not an embarrassing video? ]

[Scott is sure his life can't get even more humiliating sometimes. The expression of his face tells that much, now that he isn't wearing the glasses and his face is much more visible.]

Not really, no...I'm still trying to figure out how my new body works.

[His eyes widen at the idea she just put in his head. Scott misses wearing his visor because showing a poker face was easier when he had it on.]

No, no...no hunger for souls. Now that I've noticed. But normal food doesn't really sate me now, it's weird. [He just hopes this transformation doesn't make him thirsty for blood. Scott doesn't have fangs, so perhaps not.]

You really think so? [Good job Orihime, you got a smile out of him.] Thank you, that's good to know.

I honestly do!

[She's glad his mood has improved, which only brightens her own.]

The food part is unusual. But maybe you just won't need to eat at all for a while. It'll save you a lot of money on grocery bills.

[The most practical benefit must be recognized, since he's a starving student.]

Whatever it is, I hope you have fun with it. Let me know if you figure out how to fly so I can be jealous about it, ha ha!

You are always really nice to me. [And it makes him feel more at ease with himself. It's nice that she's often so accepting, no matter how weird he is.]

That's a very positive view of the situation.

[Hah, that's so true. Saving money is always good.]

I don't know if fun is the right word. [He pokes and one of his horns. Boy, there are pointy, even if small.] But I'll let you know. Horatio keeps trying to pounce on my wings and tail.

Well...you were nice to me, especially when I really needed someone to talk to.

[Her smile is sheepish, more diminished than her usual grin but somehow...more genuine.]

It's really nothing special. But if you want, I'll take Horatio-chan for a walk and look after him while you take some time to adjust without getting bitten. It's daylight right now, so there aren't any monsters running around. He'll be okay with me.

We both needed it at the time. [She gave him comfort as well, they helped each other.

He can't help but smile back too, glad that he can for once see her without his glasses coloring everything yes. Orihime has really pretty eyes.]

You would do that for us? That would be really helpful. Are you sure it won't be a problem?

Playing with a puppy for a day? Ha ha, if anything I should be paying you for that.

[She beams and shakes her head.]

I'd love nothing better. Just make sure to pick him up before nightfall, there's a lot of work to do after that. I'll meet you at the Attleton gate inside Genessia City, okay?

[His own smile's understanding. He knows mutant powers manifest in youth, and though there are no X-Genes at work here, it looks to him like Scott's going through that phase all over again.]

While I'm not sure about anything before my time, yeah, that would be a safe guess. Genessia's very unpredictable, so we should take what we can be sure about.

[It's true; he does look quite different from anything Marc's seen on their shared world. Though whether that's the very same one or not is yet to be determined.]

Sounds like there's a very specific hunger to go with those changes. I'll admit that worries me. [He looks to the side for a moment.] You've got some time on your hands so... think you can find out what that hunger is very, very carefully?

[It might be tough, but if Scott's going to sate that hunger, then Marc doesn't want him nor anyone else hurt.]

It looks like he bit your tail.

[ He's very casual about Scott having a tail.]

And then - Shinjiro realized something, and a very small smile appeared, for a moment. ]

I don't know, some sort of demon is my best guess. [He hasn't seen Gale's post either, that would have helped. Scott flaps his winning a little and then spreads them.] But I look very different from the demons in my world.

[Scott nods, a smile spreading on his face.] Yes, that's a plus. It's nice to see colors.

Haven't seen anythin like you in mine, either.

[ But then again, Shadows and Persona both tended to be even more fantastic-looking. ]

Guess the random crap happening ain't all and then.

That's what he did. [Mayu is often calm and casual and Scott appreciates that now more than ever.] Horatio likes to chase things.

I believe you, you don't have to change. Were you in Nova City when the change happened?

A fairy? How long did that last?

I don't really know what changed me or why, all I did was walk into Nova City. Or rather, run. I was jogging.

[It's probably for the best that Scott doesn't look as weird as a persona.]

You feel like yourself? No change happening at all?

... Well. Not for me. Not yet, anyway.

[ Shrugs. ]

There were a buncha monsters which showed up after midnight, but really that ain't that weird for me.

Aki and I handled 'em, no problem.
