[Action]
[It's not an illusion, or a trick if helpless, unsuspecting citizens of Genessia, happen to catch sight of a webslinging man in a blue and red suit testing out his limits in this new area. There's only one way to really explore the city and that's to shoot webs from his wrists and fling himself from rooftop to rooftop with all the care and bravery any teenager would.
Anyone in trouble? He'll drop down in a flash, even if it's just to help with carrying groceries. He is after all, the friendly neighbourhood superhero.]
[Audio]
[He should be upset right? But there's really only one thing that comes to mind at the moment.]
Woohoo! I don't have to go to school today!
[That's his takeaway, he might process more later, but, priorities.]

[Action]
Do you want me to start counting backwards? Because I totally will.
[She'll shrug at that one.]
Nah. They think the name is pretty cool, but they get freaked out for other reasons.
[Action]
[This is so unfair, he should do something adult. What would an adult Spider-Man do?]
Why? [He's blinking, even if she can't see him.] You don't look scary.
[Action]
[Darn it. She kind of walked into this one. Her teasing demeanor drops for the moment and she turns away from him for now. Her voice is a little quieter when she speaks up again.]
It's a long story. But it's just the way a lot of people feel about me. I was trying to change it before I got here. Then well... I kind of ended up here.
[Because there is literally no good way to actually tell this story to a Peter Parker.]
[Action]
[He shakes his head again.] I told you, I'm not a kid. [He flails a little, at least there's no chance of him slipping.]
Oh, well if it helps you don't seem scary. [He doesn't need answers, there's far more important questions.]
How stable is your webbing? How long does it last?
[Action]
It does. Just a little.
[She snorts at the next question. She literally doesn't know whether to laugh or cry when it comes to dealing with this kid. Why did all the Peter Parker's have to be so alike?]
Stable enough to make wings and some other neat shit out of it. Usually about an hour. Kind of depends on how much moisture is in the air at the time. It breaks apart when it dries up.
How about yours?
[Action]
I've never made myself wings, but have that built into my suit! Sorta!
[Spider-Man opens his arms wide and there's some thin material between his arms and down to his thighs, like a squirrel might use to glide.]
Cool huh?
[Action]
The wings get a head tilt from her, but it's not too far off from what she's made in the past. Her time flying did not go very well.]
Yeah. That's pretty neat right there.
Did you make that suit yourself or what? Seems pretty high tech for a fifteen year old.
[Okay. She played the age card again.]
[Action]
I think so, yeah, I like it. It comes in handy.
[He squeaks, rude to pull the age card again, but he won't deny it, she's right.]
I could've made it! I know how to patch it up and stuff, it's just I don't have the kind of money that Mr. Stark does. I didn't even know he was making it for me, he just did and then I got to keep it, except for the time he took it away...you know, that's not important.
[Action]
Stark? Do you mean like Tony Stark? The coffee guy?
[I mean. He also had a private army in her world but Starkbucks was the big thing that stood out about him in her world.
She couldn't imagine him making spider-man technology in her world.]
So he made it and then took it away? What did he put you in time out or something?
[Action]
He's like a billionaire and makes tech stuff! [
And he's Iron Man]No! [Yes. So very much yes.]
He can't put me in time out, I'm Spider-Man! I just...he took it and I just used my first suit.
[Action]
So he put you in time out and you snuck out anyways?
[Action]
He can't put me in time out! I wasn't in time out!
[Action]
Relax, kid. I'm just yanking your chain. It's apparently really easy.
[Action]
I didn't sneak out...well okay I did, but my Aunt doesn't know yet, but that's not the point. I just...kept investigating. I tried to stop but you know sometimes you find out something important and you just have to go with it.
[Action]
Yeah. I know all about that. I really do, P-
[She stops herself. She can't say his name. He doesn't know that she knows exactly who's behind that mask. He doesn't know she's fought with dozens of Spider-men. He doesn't know what happened with her Peter.]
-Uh, I mean kiddo.
[Yeah. that's a cover up.]
[Action]
Hey don't call me that! It's bad enough Mr. Stark treats me like I'm some kid, I'm totally not!
[Because complaining about adults doesn't give it away. At all.]
Anyway, yeah, so I had to take care of it. A lot of people would've been hurt if I didn't help, and then Mr. Stark gave me my suit back.
Re: [Action]
[Saved by the age insecurity. It did hurt a little play him like that. Her Peter had been particularly sensitive to teasing. This kid at least handled it better than he had.]
Sounds like you managed to tie everything up into a neat little package then? Good job.
[Action]
[Because that is totally the same thing.] I'm really responsible too, I swear.
[He nods a little.]
Yeah, it was pretty good. I saved the stuff and caught the bad guy. I tied him up and everything, but don't worry, I left a note.
[Action]
[She tilts her head.]
Didn't you just say you went out without telling your aunt? Isn't that opposite of responsible?
A note?
That's actually not a bad idea.
[Action]
Oh man, you haven't met my aunt, I don't think she'd take the whole Spider-Man thing very well.
[He might find out someday.]
Well yeah, I didn't want Mr. Stark to show up and find me there or something! [Because he was grounded.]
[Action]
[Though in her world she was more afraid of Ben Parker finding out about her being Spider-Woman. May took it fairly well. Which was a huge weight off her chest. That was the difference between universes though.]
Right. It wouldn't be good if you were caught outside of time out, right?
[Action]
[It's probably better not to ask about Ben, seeing as he's not with them anymore.]
It wasn't a time out! He can't give me time out, he's not my guardian!
[Action]
[It did with her dad anyways.
She knows that feeling except they are down one Peter Parker.]
No, but it sounds like he's pulling that superhero mentor thing with you and that's basically the same thing.
[Action]
[He groans.]
Hey wait, I didn't say he was a superhero. How could he be a mentor if he isn't one?
[Does she know Tony Stark? Hmmm.]
And anyway, as cool as Mr. Stark is, he's really frustrating sometimes. He never lets me do anything really dangerous. He thinks I should stick to saving cats and giving directions. I can do so much more than that!
[Action]
He made you a suit. Took it away and gave it back to you. Sounds like he's trying to teach you a lesson one way or another. Unless he was renting it out to you but I'm pretty sure you don't have a job where you could afford to do that.
[She does know him. But she only knows the one here doesn't do the coffee franchise on whatever universe he's from.
She's just good at connecting dots.]
Maybe he feels the same way about you that you feel about your aunt?
