[It had been about a day or so, enough time to cry it out that she wasn't home nor the digital world. Mimi had been uncharacteristically quiet, but metaphorically (and realistically) dusted herself off and was sitting in the park with fairly warm clothes on, holding a coffee from Moonbucks in one hand (somehow visiting during a time that someone she knew wasn't working there), while the other held the phone up.

She closed her eyes, took a breath, then put on the biggest smile she could muster, turning on the video feed.]

But, ah, that's terrific! Not that there wouldn't be plenty of friends to make in the world as is, but it's wonderfully good fortune some are here already.

[He's always caught off guard when people ask for his personal info. Why would they care? He sure doesn't. Just being polite, he supposes.]

Oh, two or three years or so. Quite a bit more than most, and almost certainly too long for sanity.

I'm sure it's not that bad. You've probably met a lot of wonderful people! At least... I hope so.

Oh, no, not bad at all. This place has its troughs, true, but the peaks! It's provided the loveliest experiences of my life, no offense to my parents. All provided, as you correctly hope, by some very wonderful people indeed. If you stay a while and give it--that is, them--a chance, you're bound to meet and be enriched by them too.

[Just thinking about the ones he's been lucky enough to meet has him practically beaming. Avert your eyes.]

So what do you do? I mean, since it looks like I actually need to work. [She doesn't like that idea.]

Oh, me personally? Ah, I uh, dabble a little. A dilettante. Freelance crimefighting, and I pitch in with a security firm every now and again.

[Both jobs he'd, coincidentally, like her never to go near.]

How about yourself? Any particular vocation?

Crime fighting and security? [Gasp!] Are you a superhero?!

I mean considering all of the different kinds of people around this place, it's not out of the ordinary.

[She thinks about the question.]

I'm not really very good at much, but I do love to sing. Music, cooking, and performing are probably my specialties.

Aheheh, nothing so glamorous, I fear.

But yes, we've had a handful of helpful heroes hanging around.

Hmm...what occupation could combine all those gifts...well, the cafes are always hiring. If you don't find the combination of singing and sustenance too vulgar, that might be just the thing.

Well I think you're pretty cool.

[She thinks about the option for the cafes.]

I would be a super cute waitress. And I think I saw a talent agency too! Maybe I can actually pursue my dream of being a famous idol!

I, heh, can't disagree with that. Might even have time for both! Goodness knows you wouldn't be the first to spin more than one plate. I can even point you to one woman who's walked both paths, if you like.

[He can't even honestly say she's a girl who is his friend after their last upsetting conversation. Not on the best of terms. But surely a small recommendation wouldn't be out of the question? He's sure they'd get along famously.]
