[ Here's a new face for all of you. Just this young man, sitting cross-legged on a wall with his hands tugged into the large sleeves of his dark cloak that is generously pooling around him. His phone? Is either propped up somewhere or plain floating in mid-air, but details.

At least he looks cheerful enough. ]

[ He nods once. ]

My name's Anakin Skywalker. I'm a Jedi Knight and General in the Grand Army of the Republic. And while I guess that this doesn't mean anything here, the latter may be explanation enough for why I'm not too happy with being here.

You see, there's a war going on back in my galaxy and I'd rather be with my men than sitting around on some forced vacation.

I'm not getting much of a say in this as it seems, however.

[ Anakin's expression relaxes and he looks down to where his hands come free from where they have been tugged away. The money he has been given rests within his fingers and he gives it a contemplative look. ]

I was told I'd need a job and a place to stay, but being a Jedi I'm not allowed possession. Including money. I don't mind working. I'm good with droids, building and fixing things. But I wonder if it's possible to just work in exchange for a place to stay rather than material pay.

[ There’s a brief, angry flicker of static as Anakin repeats the word in disbelief. Oh, you asked about Obi-Wan? Too bad, because Anakin suddenly has words for you. ]

You broke into the Jedi Temple. You stole an important Holocron and first captured, then killed the Jedi guarding its memory crystal. You tried to kill my Padawan! You kidnapped innocent children from their parents!

But I’m being judgemental for refusing to build you a droid?!

[ The static increases as the Jedi’s anger raises just as well. Just a little Disturbance in the Force... ]

Do I have to go on?!

[He can't feel the Force and they aren't in the same room, but even Cad Bane can sense and see that rising anger and understand that's causing the static. Provoking the Jedi further may not be a good idea. He merely shrugs, though, as if all of those heinous things meant nothing to him.]

It's in the past. You're not supposed to judge others on their past deeds here.

You want to arrest me, you're going to have to pin me for some crime I committed here.

[ It’s that nonchalance that makes Anakin pull his lips back into a snarl. Cad Bane acting like the lives he took mattered nothing.

And in this place... they probably do. ]

I don’t need to arrest you to know what you’re capable of - And what you’re willing to do for something as trivial as money!

[ He raises the money in his hand into view, still obviously agitated, but also disgusted. At least the static receedes somewhat. ]

I’d probably have to hire you myself to keep you from accepting any dubious jobs.

[Even back in their galaxy, he doesn't much care about any lives he's disturbed or ruined or idly taken for a paycheck. It certainly doesn't trouble his mind. His focus is get the job done properly - whatever it takes, even if innocents are the target or simply are in the way - and get paid.]

If you want to hire me to be idle then that amount will be enough, for a short time.

However, there are plenty of criminals to be captured and bounties to be hunted, as you'll see next time the newspaper gets delivered. These cities are rife with crime under the surface. That alone should keep a Jedi busy.

As well as a bounty hunter.

[ And that's exactly what's bothering this Jedi. He has killed beings too, but only if they threatened the lives of innocents.

He narrows his eyes at the bounty hunter. ]

You're spending your time catching criminals.

[ Said in the flattest, unconvinced way. ]

I get paid a minuscule but regular wage as an official bounty hunter here. A legitimate occupation.

I also pick up extra work from the boards or the paper.

All legitimate.

You doubt that?

Would it really surprise you if I did?

[ Come on, Bane... ]

No. Not at all.

I won't pretend like we can be friends. Especially not after what your Master Kenobi pulled.

But don't think that you know everything here. The rules have changed.

Bane, you tried to kill me, my Master and my Padawan on more than one occasion. There's no way I'd ever want to be friends with you.

And don't worry. I will learn. And I will keep my eyes on you in case you try something again.

[ Which he doesn't doubt will happen. ]

It was nothing personal.

It was very personal for me.

And yet you're alive and your Padawan is alive and your Master is unfortunately still alive...

[Yes, there is a grudge against Obi-Wan as the last memory he has of their galaxy is that betrayal and his own arrest. That he does consider personal, but of course that's not about Anakin.]

So perhaps we can begin anew. No need to bring in the past here...

[Except, hypocritically, he totally would himself. Hes just trying to smooth talk his way out of Anakin causing trouble for him here - not that he thinks it will actually work, but he has to try.]

I'm not simply going to forget everything you've done.

[ See, Anakin holds grudges just as well. He may be a Jedi, but he's a flawed one. ]

If I hear anything about you hurting anyone, I'll find you.

Promises, promises, Jedi.

I'll have my eye on you too.

Maybe there will be a lucrative bounty on your head one day and I can collect a handsome reward.

[ He chuckles at the mere mention of there being put a bounty on his head. ]

Right. Just remember: This is just one planet, Bane. Not that many places for you to hide.

[ A Jedi with anger issues such that he could feel it from the Commons? He wasn't surprised. The Jedi code leaves a person as able to handle a rage as a Voss can handle surprises.

Still, all the more reason to keep a close eye on the Jedi's public transmissions. ]
