City Guardian nominations are now open.
Current Guardians and newcomers are welcome to run. Current Guardians will continue their positions until the election process is complete. In the case of more than one guardian seeking nomination, a vote will be held. Anyone else seeking candidacy must reply to this message by Friday, December 15th. If only one candidate's name is submitted, no vote will be necessary and duties may be assumed immediately at the end of the election period. After the nominations are made, Guardian Candidates will be given a period to campaign and the polls will be open December 26th-30th.
Current Guardians and their deputy teams who are not re-elected will be given a severance package that will last 1 month from the day they leave office to assist in the transition to a new job position.

City Running for: Genessia City
Potential Deputies: Karla, Aeslyn Blackrose, Lea, Enis Edrin. Should they all want to continue service to Genessia City. Though he is open to hiring one or two more.
Candidate Positions: Continuing to increase the quality of life for those in Genessia. Believes in having a good working relationship with the Guardians of each city for times where they are required to work together. Still dedicated to help opening and find out what is in the “Wind Gate” Archway on the back of the Bay, that has been there for several years now.
Wants to establish a 'Deputy Exchange'' program where Guardians can select a Deputy under their charge to work for them as well as with another Guardian and their Deputies. This would be done as a way to establish a stronger connection and working relationship between the Guardian Offices of the cities.
Wants to also divide Genessia City up into quadrants similar to what Weiss Schnee did for Nova City. However the quadrants for Genessia City will be divided up by which Archway is located in that section. The Deputy Exchange program would work for this too as the Deputies be able to partner with Genessia City deputies to patrol and help tend to things in the quadrant that their city's Archway lies in.
In-World Accomplishments:
-Founded a Training Facility in Nova City and Genessia City for people to train their abilities.
-Founded the K&H Home for Children for any young children that end up in Genessia to go to.
- Personally put together a team and fixed the Nova City Power Crisis.
-Willing sacrificed memories to help fix the Everglade Barrier during the Barrier crisis.
-Has run a Carnival in Nova City twice.
-First act as Guardian was to make it illegal to discriminate upon others in Genessia City be it for race, creed or religion.
-Saw to the creation of weaponry to help fend off an attack should another Barrier crisis arise.
-Has ran multiple Charity events throughout the years to not only fund the K&H Home, but other charities as well.
-Revamped and expanded the Genessia City police force.
-Established a proper jail to hold Prisoners for the police force.
-Established a Pokemon Healing station in each city for people with Pokemon to heal them.
-Established a Prison to hold high priority or superpowered prisoners that commit crimes. Said prison is entirely humane and offers many options for inmates to spend their time, be it in therapy sessions, reading or even learning trades.

Hobbies: Work (that counts as a hobby, right?) Reading, watching movies, the odd video game here and there. Training his own abilities, spending times with friends, recently taking in Baseball games.
Other: While not a politician in his own world, he has helped to save the world, fought on a team to take out large threats and even to stop discrimination and oppression of an entire people in a single country. Though while he has not decided, should he be elected this term, it could be his last. A discussion will be had with current deputies come next elections before an offical decision is made.

In-World Accomplishments: Has been in this world for nine months, spending seven of those months as Nova City's deputy and taking care of threats when needed

Other: Hired on as a Deputy, I, Grievous, have maintained the security and protection of those in Nova City and this will continue to be my primary objective. Needing no rest, I can be on call at a moment's notice to deal with any trouble that may arise and can face the gravest dangers with my experience as a former military leader and strategist.

Potential Deputies: Someone who isn't really annoying or overly preachy. I'm going to play favorites and hire someone I actually like because I have to work with them, you don't, so why should it matter?
Candidate Positions:
-Humans are awful. Like probably don't hunt them down but I'm not going to deny that they're self-serving assholes who put themselves above the needs of all other species and even their own if it's too much trouble for them. Which sounds weird coming from a human but humans screwed me over harder than just about anyone who isn't dead here (or undead but originally died because of a human), so I get it. But I don't think it's a good idea to separate everyone either, it's nature to assume the "other" is the enemy, so it'll just make things worse in the long run. (In my world we have a whole terrorist organization that's working for basically Evil Incarnate to destroy humanity on behalf of their species. Stop discriminating and putting humans first and maybe you won't screw yourselves. It's probably a good idea to have someone who is a human and can handle that, then also knows they're jackasses to literally everyone as a species. (Stop whining, people, your super special I'm An Amazing Philanthropist attitude doesn't excuse the rest of the species' behavior in literally every universe. Read a history book from literally anywhere with multiple sentient groups before you start screaming that I'm wrong.)
-Investigate and eliminate corruption in the government and mayor's office. Someone killed the former mayor and assistant mayor, there was no way that was suicide and the entire letter was a lie. I know what actually happened. If I win, the City Guardian's office won't keep pretending that's a closed case.
-Everglade supports the barriers by using fear generated within the city. People like Ted turned the fear toward the "monsters," the natural residents of Everglade when he tried to make it seem like they were all in the wrong. They rebelled, humans were targeted to a dangerous level, which made people freak out. Then Grell is trying to eliminate the fear by giving everyone protections, solving the eating problem by turning it to mass production and demystifying a lot of things. We've had three breaches to the barrier, which is supposedly supported by Everglade's dependence on fear so it's a problem if you're supposed to protect it, make people feel safe, and keep the barriers up. I have two ideas that go in kind of opposite directions about this:
-Grell created a lot of steps forward to protect the homeless, but we should be making sure that those are regulated. I'm not saying it's happening on purpose, but I've never seen a place where the homeless actually felt safe going into shelters. Homeless women especially have problems with it because a lot of the time the people who work in shelters aren't regulated because the shelters don't have the money to focus on strict hiring, so volunteers end up being people who are more than willing to take advantage of people who are already in a crap situation. Drug dealers, people who try to solicit "favors," basically the worst of humanity end up "helping" the worst off. I would rather starve on the streets than set foot in most shelters in any world, and I was homeless. For a long time. I know what happens.
-I will promise to stop being a jerk to David Haller if he wins. Since we'll probably have to work together at some point... (Ugh.)

-Everyone who I don't hate and spends time with me somehow ends up either a Guardian or a Deputy Guardian somehow. (Mercury, Jaune, Cassian, K2SO, Grell, even David H. back before he sucked.) I'm Guardian-attractant.
-Defeated a corrupt branch of the Attleton mafia and Guardian Andor showed up to assist.
-Have a positive relationship with the Attleton mafia leaders after exposing their bad people. Lots of arrests, good rapport, wow you know how much we could reduce crime with this?
-Have a load of connections from running my intercity trading thing, where I move goods from one city to another. I guess that would help?
-Mercury became a City Guardian in Nova City and I was his partner back home so we've both clearly turned a shiny new leaf. So, criminal past = able to think like a criminal = better able to catch criminals.
-A bunch of bounties I didn't take credit for because I'm not a glory-hound who needs to be paid and patted on the back for stopping soul-stealing creeps or illegal plastic surgeons or whatever.
-Starred in a telenovela in Genessia. I'm a TV star, that's cool.
-I worked at an arcade enforcing the rules. I had to deal with kids and I haven't lost my job for over a year so clearly I've developed some level of compassion.
-I'm Mercury's partner (not romantic, it's a fighting thing in our world) and I live with him so I have a long-standing ability to deal with people who won't shut up, and I guess that's kind of like dealing with the public. Please speak to Mercury personally for 5 minutes for a demonstration of why this is an accomplishment.

-I was going to run for Attleton since I didn't think Cassian was going to, so before you ask why I switched so fast, I've made a point to hang around basically every city, all the time. My job right now is intercity trader, so I have connections in all of them. Everglade I've argued with people about for a long time but people don't listen the second they hear something they don't like and it tends to create its own drama because everyone's trying to fix holes without letting the water out.

Candidate Positions:
+ In a world where literally anything can happen, it’s better to have two heads than one at the top of the chain. If one of those weird worldwide events affects one Guardian, or if they suddenly get sent home, there won’t suddenly be a power vacuum. This also prevents the opinions of one single guardian from skewing policy and decisions. No dictators! No tyrants! Voices will be heard etc.

guardianscandidates think there needs to be more communication between Guardians. Some kind of regular meeting type thing or whatever so everyone is always on the same page.+ As a former criminal, Mercury has hands-on experience in the wacky world of crime, and knows where to go to root it out when he has to. As a former cop back home, Garrus is familiar with working within the law and also knows how to fight crime and stuff I guess.
+ Again, weird things happen around here. When they do, we need warning systems in place.

GUARDIANScandidates are not concerned with hounding down every minor offense. That’s why we have police. We want to focus on the big stuff. We prefer to delegate work that doesn't require leadership attention to police and bounty hunters. Do your job, coppers.+ Jail is nice and all but it doesn't magically turn criminals into non-criminals. We need a system to actively help people from all backgrounds reintegrate into society as better people. A lot of folks were dealt bad hands and never got that chance back home. We can be better.
+ People should be able to feel safe in Nova City, especially in their own homes. Zero tolerance of domestic abuse. All reports will be taken seriously and investigated to the fullest extent.
In-World Accomplishments:
+ Both of us were experienced deputies before being appointed Guardianship by Weiss. Weiss specifically chose US as her successors. You trust Weiss, don’t you? Don’t you?????
+ During the Halloween fiasco, people entering Nova City were warned on their devices about the monster transformations before entering the city limits. You’re welcome, citizens.

Candidate Positions: solidify the standing of organic non-humans in the world at large while promoting awareness of their innate needs, working to put an end to wars between factions that harm the uninvolved, helping the less fortunate get back into mainstream society, expand shelters to other cities.
In-World Accomplishments:
-Helped make harming/harassing the elderly, disabled (physically, mentally, or emotionally disabled), the sick and injured, and anyone under the age of adulthood, no matter their species, a criminal offense.
-Co-founded The Red House Foundation, a shelter for those with no place to call their own. Also provides opportunities for gaining skills and giving back to the community. It also serves as an option for companies to gain tax breaks for volunteering at the shelter. Shelters in Everglade and Genessia have been built so far.
-As a result of the shelter, the rate of squatting in unoccupied buildings and houses has dropped.
-Worked with the mayor to provide housing assistance to those that wish to relocate from Everglade.
-Residents have been allowed to sell their blood to blood banks for money. The blood is used for medical treatments and to provide nourishment to those who survive on consuming blood.
-Clarified the regulations for Necromancy within Everglade.
-Helped establish Edible Alternatives, a small meat store catering to those with alternative dietary needs. Hoping to expand the store to create more options and jobs.
-95% of City Guardian salary went into projects and programs to better the city and its residents.
Hobbies: Spending time with family, reading, drinking tea, sharpening computer programming skills, giving belly rubs to my dog, shopping.

Candidate Positions: 1. Provide martial training to any being of decent moral standing.
2. Expand diplomatic relations between the elven tribes and human settlers of town.
3. Establish proper communication channels between each of the city guardians in time of an emergency situation or 'event' that affects a wide percentage of the population.
4. Provide education and instruction in a number of essential skills, such as but not limited to: wilderness survival, magic and defensive techniques, hunting and fishing, proper handling of wild and/or dangerous beasts, and more.
5. Stamping out bandit activity to ensure safe modes of transportation for natives and non-natives alike.
6. Increased health and safety standards for local inns, bars, and eateries (no more questionable meat products, vermin, etc.)
7. Implement the use of free electricity through safe and effective means, such as dust and elemental stones.
In-World Accomplishments: Intensive training for voluntary recruits and interested parties. Active respondent to monster attacks in Genessia City. Funding and personal aid lent to protect new arrivals during a time of crisis. Served as captain of the royal guard to protect the monarchy of Fayren. Incarceration of the criminal Frostbolt.
Hobbies: Botany, tea, fencing, playing the piano, study of wild flora and fauna. (And tacked on as an afterthought:) Cooking.
Other: I have no personal interest in running for Guardian. General Ironwood, my superior, let it be known that this would be his intention before he disappeared from the city. As his goal has ever been the safety and protection of the people, I would see that vision realized in his stead until his return, after which I would prefer to resume my duties as captain of the royal guard.

- Solidify Attleton's position as safe haven for all who follow the town laws, regardless of their species or abilities
- Maintain careful balance of introducing high-tech and magic to protect the town effectively from such dangers while respecting Attleton's nature as a town of non-magical humans
- Develop measures to more effectively counter serial killers
- Develop plans to better absorb incident-induced absence of staff members, possibly having on-call temps or request reinforcements from other towns

Training my pokemon team.Other: I'm not going to say it's been an easy six months or that they went smoothly, but as you can see most goals from last term's campaign have been achieved in spite of all obstacles. I'd like to note that our achievements were a team effort of the Guardian staff and supporting citizens, who have my gratitude for six months of hard and effective work.

City Running for: Fayren
Potential Deputies: Qubine, Konoka Konoe, Erza Scarlet
Candidate Positions:
- Protect the citizens of Fayren.
- Help mages and non-mages understand each other and live together peacefully.
- Help mages develop their magic so they can defend themselves and help defend Fayren.
- Investigate the weird 'events' affecting Fayren and other cities, like the one that happened for Halloween and at the beginning of December.
In-World Accomplishments:
- Has been acting as Fayren's Deputy Guardian since the last Guardian election. Before that, was already collaborating with the previous Guardian, though without any official position.
- Founded the mage guild of Fairy Tail.
- Defended citizens of Fayren against spirits.
- Took part in the investigation on the 'Hands of Decay'.
- Helped making Fayren safer by completing bounty hunts.
Hobbies:
- Training Pokémon.
- Playing Legenca.
- Eating cakes.
- Spending time with friends.
Other: Do not judge a book by its cover. I'm not as young as I look. I lived through many wars ever since I was born and I helped win several of them. Back in Earthland, I'm known as the Fairy Tactician.

Potential Deputies: I dunno, the current ones can stay on I guess, they seem pretty cool

-Ensuring residents and visitors of all races - mechanical, organic or both - are treated without prejudice
-Fully cooperating with Guardians of other cities to ensure overall safety
-Keeping contact with Nova City officials so the city runs smoothly and create housing options for those of lower incomes
In-World Accomplishments:
-Took part of the defense of Genessia and Nova City during June's barrier breach
-Owner of three popular night clubs in Nova, Genessia and Everglade
-Served as a bounty hunter for two years
-Took part in nearly every mission to counter the Red Claw since they first reared their heads
-Honorary Guardian For A Day: Was trusted by former Guardian Weiss Schnee to watch over the city
-Looks fantastic in high heels
-Has worked Aster's tech support, hasn't gone insane from asking "have you tried turning it off and back on again" everyday for two years straight
-Donates a hell of a lot to charity
-Can learn interesting information as a bartender
-Won the "Most Likely To Kick Your Ass In A Dark Alley" award
-Look you know you guys had a blast at that Halloween party this year
Hobbies:
-Mixing new drinks
-Dancing and poledancing
-Doting on pets and Pokemon
-Training pretty girls in magic to defend themselves
-Flirting with pretty much everyone (of age)
-Screaming into the void-Being all around generally fabulous
Other: Look, I'm not going to make up campaign promises I can't keep. A wise man once said that the most trustworthy campaigns are the ones that admit they have no platform. Also I'm bored and this sounded hilarious to do.
