Party at Pond Place - Invitation only - Forward dated to the 23rd

Amy wasn't really in a party mood. But a closed door invitation only party was good for her rep, and she could use the extra money a boost in popularity might bring, because they were an income shy on the house, now. And what finally got her moving was the thought that people popped up at Christmas. If Rory was going to reappear... it would be at a Christmas party.

So she went all out on decorations. She sent out the invitations and sent them through the Doctors. Well... River got hers directly, as would Arelene, because she didn't know if the Doctors knew her. As for Rose.... Her invitation would go through Eleven, with a note to him, that she is only invited because of what he had said, and that if Rose starts drama or trouble... she would be out on her rear in the snow.

After a talk with Ten, her plan for a dry party was changed to a very limited bar.

And on the 23rd, she'd be finishing up decorations in the afternoon, with the Eleven told that was when the party started, and told Ten and Twelve that they were welcome to help decorate at that time. Eleven, she knew, would be late, which was why he was given the earlier time.

So come noon, she was decorating a fake tree, painted Tardis blue, with bright silver tinsel and lights. The walls and hearth were already started, and the table was set with a place for everyone invited... and one for Rory, beside hers. Since it was a potluck, she didn't have to cook for everyone, thankfully. At least, not a full meal. So she made a few medium sized servings of things, enough for a few people. Yorkshire pudding, fish fingers and custard, a glazed spiral ham - which she will not admit to having bought pre-cooked and simply added honey and tossed it in the oven - and a banana coconut cream pie. That might have come from a mix. Hush. She made sure all the boxes were thrown out well before even the decorators were due.

she had the last of the food that needed to be cooked cooking, she had a christmas selection of music playing, and she was dancing around, getting everything ready.

Evening - Party time

After leaving someone else to finish the last bits, she went up to get showered and changed. And she looked splendid when she came down. Well, for a casual party, anyway. A trim snug green sweater, short skirt, long red scarf, black stockings, cute green flats. It was time to play host and start letting guests in, always looking for that one particular face every time she opened the door...

Peter was grateful to receive the invitation from Rose for his chance to go to a Christmas party. He had been trying to not think of the holiday because he was away from home and he was really starting to get homesick. He missed his aunt.

He wouldn't say anything however, what kind of a superhero gets homesick?

So he arrived, promptly on time, with a big bright smile, a dorky Christmas sweater, and a box full of cookies from the bakery. Please forgive him, he didn't really cook.

He was prepared for any sort of emergency, but hopefully there wouldn't be one and he could just enjoy the party.

She opened the door...hoping. But nope. Not Rory. Not anyone she knew at all, actually. So have Amy standing there, looking confused. Had someone else invited him? Was he paparazzi with a really well hidden camera? She wasn't sure.

He was greeted by someone who looked entirely too confused. "Um, hey!" Peter smiled pleasantly.

"I was looking for a party? Rose invited me. If I have the wrong place, I'm sorry."

No, he definitely wasn't a paparazzi, if he was meant to know Amy, he would have to apologize for not being up to date, because he had no idea who she was. He only knew Rose, really, and they hadn't even met in person, so of course he wasn't expecting to encounter people he knew.

Jack was dressed to the nines in a a blue snowflake sweater and dark dress pants. He hums a Christmas carol as he knocks on the Pond's front door. In his hands are a pile of small boxes wrapped in blue and silver paper with snowflakes on them and sliver bows. Inside are bits of wood carved into what he hopes each person they are for find memorable.

He beams when the door opens. "Merry Christmas."

Well she'd certainly been to her share of Christmas parties. Work related, family and friends as well. So she'd been fairly set for this one, even if she was a little out of practice. Christmas in the TARDIS or Venus or what have you was a bit different. But at least the ones with her, most of them, knew that feeling well.

She adjusted her skirt and placed the basket of fresh breads and sweets on the table. No one wanted Sarah Jane to cook, so she'd gone the safe way and bought the breads fresh from a bakery in Fayren. The sweet buns smelled heavenly and she couldn't help sneaking one as she headed towards the tree to leave the small gaggle of presents she'd brought over. Save for a nice blush wine for the hostess. Sarah's aunt had instilled some manners in her.

Once that was done, she started to take a good look about, seeing what faces she didn't know to go off and pester.

Sarah had spotted the sweater first and squinted to read it before laughing. Oh, she had to see about this!

"Where did you find that! It's absolutely brilliant!" Oh, she does hope the Doctor sees it! "I've a good friend who would have loved it."

"Oh. Rose." A deep breath and she shoved aside the irritation. It was Christmas, after all. She stepped aside to let him in. "Sorry, no one told me. Come on in, I'm Amy Pond."

She gave him a bright smile. "Merry Christmas. Come on in. Those all for me?" she asked, teasing. She figured that none of them were for her, so it was fun to teas. Guys were cut when they squirmed, after all.

Gwen used the window to fix her wine red sweater and black jeans (having gone for simple since she was still finding her way in this place) and made sure her coat was in place. She had been quietly dreading the holidays since there was still no sign of Rhys but she also knew she was not alone and among friends. "So here goes nothing." shifting a box of cookies and a bag of presents as she knocked on the door.

Amy would be one of those faces she didn't know, as well as the Hostess. She would be coming back from checking on the oven just then, brushing some hair back into place carefully, eyes scanning. There was always the hope that Rory had slipped in while she was checking the ham. Always that hope.

Lea hadn't been given any kind of dress code for the party, so he had just assumed it was 'come as you are'. Still, he'd at least opted for one of his newer outfits; a simple orange long-sleeved top, black jean jacket (that may or may not stay on for the party), yellow checked scarf (that probably wouldn't), blue jeans, and black high-tops. Xion, who he'd managed to convince to come with him simply wore her Organization clothes; he'd gotten her a few new hoodies, but that's what she was most comfortable in, and he wanted to make this as easy as possible for her.

As a hostess gift, he'd bought a fancy hot chocolate gift set. Despite Rapunzel's help, his baking skills weren't up to standard that he'd want to share with others, so buying a gift had seemed like the best option. He just hoped she'd like it.

He adjusted his scarf, gave Xion a reassuring smile, and rang the doorbell. Party time!

Amy opened the door and gave her a bright warm smile. "Merry Christmas." Did...she knew her? She was trying to remember. But she thought she had seen her in or around the Tardis before, so she must have been invited.... Right?

Xion's hood was up and she was all but clinging to his hand. But she was going to try. For him.

Amy opened the door and gave them a warm smile, though the raised hood that hid the smaller person's face confused her. "Welcome, come on in. Merry Christmas and all that."

Red hair, red hair..ha! Sarah smiled and headed towards her, "Amy?" Was hard not to recognize the woman and Sarah held out the wine bottle, "A nice wine to pass off the first few moments of the night."

"Ah. Thank you. Is this for the open bar?" she didn't want to presume it was a gift, especially at a potluck. "I'm sorry, I don't think I got your name?" She should have realized that the words small and party probably didn't go together with the Doctor. And she had talked to three of him.

"Nope. It's for you. Hostess gift." And she wouldn't want to let the Doctor near the stuff. Not after that last time. She shook her head, smiling warmly at the other woman and holding out her hand, "Sarah Jane Smith, you must be Amy Pond. I've heard a bit about you." Mostly a thing or two from the paper but she was aiming to change that.

She took the bottle with a nod. "Thank you, then." she said. She'd have to put it upstairs for now so it didn't wind up shared. She had kept the amount of booze at the open bar limited, and only because the Doctor wanted booze was there any at all. She used to love just drinking wine. Now she did it far less often, and only with people she really trusted. Like River or Rory.

Moving the bottle to the crook of one arm, she shook the woman's hand. "Hopefully good things?" she asked, wondering who had been telling tales.

"Its Gwen, Jack's team." Gwen threw in to explain her links to the general group at large. She shifted to make sure the bag and box don't go flying in the process.

Sarah smiled, "Yeap. Only good, promise." She looked for recognition of her name in the other woman's eyes but didn't find it. Curious but then, it had been a long time.

"I brought breads and sweet buns. Old habits. Is there anything you need? I don't mind swinging out to get something."

"Ah! Sorry about that. Welcome, Gwen! Come on in!"

"This is perfect, thanks. Food is getting set up on the tables there," she said, pointing. "I have a ham in the oven, and two desserts waiting, plus everything everyone else brought. So we should be good. Just mingle and enjoy!"

Darling, she lived in a town with a duck pond that had never had ducks that anyone could remember, she missed the world being trapped by Daleks and kidnapped. Amy Pond's memory is a scary and convoluted place....

"Merry Christmas," Lea replied. "This is my friend, Xion. She's kinda shy, but I figured the party would be a good way for her to maybe meet some new people."

"Oh and we brought you this," he said, offering her the hot chocolate gift set as they came in. "I figured, who doesn't like chocolate, right?" Well, mostly he had but he included Xion because she hadn't really brought a gift of her own.

"Oh I intend to, but I also want to talk a bit, if that's okay? We've a few things in common and well it's not often I get a chance to talk with someone about aliens and not have them tell me it's all classified or." She grinned and winked, "Or tell me it's all stuff and nonsense."

He offered a kind smile and stepped into the house. "Oh...well I'm Peter Parker." Peter held out his hand politely, not the one holding the box of cookies.

"I found it in a shop. It's great, right? Rose got it for me." He offered a brilliant smile. "I'm a big science fan."
