Are there other places where new people appear?

[he's been by several times to see if Iris had come but still has not seen her yet. He's still not pleased with the situation but figures that he should spend any spare second down where the newer people were arriving just to see if his beloved wife would come through.]

[Minako's face is so serious, gaiz. She furrows her brow, blue eyes intense almost to the point of flames. She has something very, very serious to report.]

Hey, guys! As you all know, February 14th is fast approaching, and is exactly one month away. Do you know what that means?

[She SMACKS a calendar with her hand, where the date is circled with a big red heart.]

This is Valentine's Day! Where I'm from, we celebrate this most romantic holiday in a special way. Now I've worked hard to get everyone a chance to at least try to go on a date, and if things worked out, it's definitely time for the next step to complete the course of true romance. Girls, on this day it's your job to make chocolate and give it to the guys you like. You can even give it to your friends and acquaintances, but the stronger your feelings, the better your gift should be. Guys, you are not off the hook!

[Minako flips the calendar page and SMACKS it just as hard, where March 14th is also circled with a red heart.]

This day is called White Day, and it's a follow-up to Valentine's Day. Give sweets to the girls you like, and anyone who gave you chocolate before. At long last you can confess your feelings, and enjoy the springtime of love!

[She clasps her hands together next to her cheek, practically glowing.]

...Well? What are you waiting for? Go get that chocolate!

Oh. And I should let you know that I totally love chocolate. Milk or dark are both fine by me.

[She ~winks~.]

[Guess who's stuck at the lab when the snowstorm hits the heaviest? Luckily, he's grabbed his heaviest snow jacket that he could find here after seeing the announcement in the papers but...he glances outside at the howler outside then shakes his head]

Of all the things, and here I thought I would have a chance to sort out some of these case files--

[He looks up when the lights start to flicker]

No. No-no-no-no-no-ah!

[And it goes dark. Except for the glow of his communications device]

...if anyone is stuck near Genessia PD's station, I think we're allowed to offer shelter until proper transportation is arranged. I'll need to check with the Captain to be sure.

[A sneeze can be heard from deep within the GCPD file room. By fluke or accident Kristen did not make it home before the storm hit and is snowed in at the office. To add insult to injury she's also getting sick. Only a bad cold but the sooner the better right? But she does speak.]

Picked the worst night to deal with backlog, are the trains running?

Amy wasn't really in a party mood. But a closed door invitation only party was good for her rep, and she could use the extra money a boost in popularity might bring, because they were an income shy on the house, now. And what finally got her moving was the thought that people popped up at Christmas. If Rory was going to reappear... it would be at a Christmas party.

So she went all out on decorations. She sent out the invitations and sent them through the Doctors. Well... River got hers directly, as would Arelene, because she didn't know if the Doctors knew her. As for Rose.... Her invitation would go through Eleven, with a note to him, that she is only invited because of what he had said, and that if Rose starts drama or trouble... she would be out on her rear in the snow.

After a talk with Ten, her plan for a dry party was changed to a very limited bar.

And on the 23rd, she'd be finishing up decorations in the afternoon, with the Eleven told that was when the party started, and told Ten and Twelve that they were welcome to help decorate at that time. Eleven, she knew, would be late, which was why he was given the earlier time.

So come noon, she was decorating a fake tree, painted Tardis blue, with bright silver tinsel and lights. The walls and hearth were already started, and the table was set with a place for everyone invited... and one for Rory, beside hers. Since it was a potluck, she didn't have to cook for everyone, thankfully. At least, not a full meal. So she made a few medium sized servings of things, enough for a few people. Yorkshire pudding, fish fingers and custard, a glazed spiral ham - which she will not admit to having bought pre-cooked and simply added honey and tossed it in the oven - and a banana coconut cream pie. That might have come from a mix. Hush. She made sure all the boxes were thrown out well before even the decorators were due.

she had the last of the food that needed to be cooked cooking, she had a christmas selection of music playing, and she was dancing around, getting everything ready.

Evening - Party time

After leaving someone else to finish the last bits, she went up to get showered and changed. And she looked splendid when she came down. Well, for a casual party, anyway. A trim snug green sweater, short skirt, long red scarf, black stockings, cute green flats. It was time to play host and start letting guests in, always looking for that one particular face every time she opened the door...

Who: Barry Allen (Earth-2) and OPEN
Where: Between Genessia Commons and Garden Park Apartments
What: Moving day for Barry and Thea.
When: November 26th

After gaining employment, Barry had taken to walking around Genessia City just so that he could at least familiarize himself with his new and temporary surroundings. And one could really survive on microwave food for so long. He found himself walking along Iris Ave. Call him a sentimental man, but he honestly wished he had at least something of hers with him in this place. His eyes caught the open vacancy sign at Garden Park Apartments and applied to live there.

He, at least, had gotten close with Thea Queen. Certainly not the Thea Queen he was familiar with but familiar enough of a face to become friends with. He even invited her along to stay with him in the apartment.

Today was moving day and Barry packed up his meager belongings that he had at the Commons to move into his new home, reminding himself that all of this was simply temporary until he made it home.

Now that housing is set up I'm now looking for a job for real.

Let's just blame a medical snafu for that.

So anyone need a bartender who is stuck on light duty for another couple of weeks?

WHO: Whitley Schnee, all of the contestants and judges who signed up, and anyone who wishes to spectate!
WHAT: The moment of truth has arrived! Who's makes the best entree? The best dessert? How many judges will go home with food poisoning unrelated to Chara totally not using actual buttercups in their pie? Let's find out!
WHEN: November 20th, Early evening
WHERE: Genessia City

===

[ Once all contestants and judges are at the venue, and enough time has passed for the audience to settle into place, Whitley takes center stage with a broad smile and a polite bow. ]

Good evening, culinary enthusiasts, and welcome to the Genessia World Cooking Championship! We have an impressive lineup of contestants ready to show us what they're capable of - but first, allow me to introduce our panel of judges.

[ He lifts one hand to gesture to a table at one end of the room, where the five judges are seated, with an extra seat remaining for Whitley himself. As he introduces each he allows a moment for them to stand and wave to the crowd, should they so desire: ]

Shinjiro Aragaki, Alice Nakiri, Gwen Stacy, Aeslyn Blackrose, and Demyx - as well as myself, of course! A truly diverse array of palettes if ever there was one, but we'll see which entries are superb enough to wow us all. We'll begin first with the entrees, then allow a short intermission before moving onto the desserts.

[ He claps his hands together in front of himself, nodding sharpy. ]

I don't think there's any need to say more, and truth be told I'm famished, so without further ado - will all chefs making entrees please find your stations!

(( OOC: First and foremost, thank you everyone who signed up! As you may have noticed we had exactly five people sign up to be judges, so EVERYONE WHO SIGNED UP TO BE A JUDGE IS IN! As for how the contest will work now, there will be headers below for each entry with the chef's name, their dish, and their meta score from the random number generator plus their experience bonus. Chefs may comment in those threads to describe their process and what may have gone right or wrong, while judges are free to react as if they are tasting the dish!

That should about cover things, but if there are any questions feel free to shoot me a PM!

p.s. yes these are seriously the numbers I rolled so make of that what you will ))

I HAVE TEN DAYS TO LEARN HOW TO COOK AN ENTREE! I NEED COOKING LESSONS STAT!

[She bows deeply.]

Someone please accept me as your humble student, I'm begging you!

[OOC: Don't agree to this unless you're perfectly okay with Minako blowing up your kitchen. Not exaggerating. There will be fire.]

[ Heyyyyyy it’s Whitley! Looking as clean and kempt as ever! ]

Good day to you all. For those of you who I have yet to enjoy the company of, my name is Whitley Schnee – CEO of the Schnee Company here in Genessia. Some time ago I spoke to the public about efforts to bring the community together, and after the events of last month I think it’s more important than ever to foster that spirit. What better way to do so than with some friendly, good-spirited competition?

In ten days, November 20th, the Schnee Company will be hosting its first Genessia World Cooking Championship. Citizens of any and all cities are welcome to participate, even though the event will be held in Genessia City. What that means is we need two things:

First, of course, we need contestants! I believe the contest will be split into two categories – entrées and desserts. A contestant may only compete in one field, not both. We will provide ingredients and equipment for cooking, so when you enter please let us know what you will be making and what you will need for your dish. We’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Second, naturally, we need judges. I will be acting as one, but I would like a panel of three to five others in order to assure that multiple palettes are taken into consideration. I may pride myself on good taste, but that hardly means only mine should be taken into consideration!

If you are interested in either aspect, you can contact the Genessia City branch of the Schnee Company to either enter as a contestant or apply as a judge.

I look forward to seeing what you are all capable of!

(( ooc: Those who are interested in entering the contest be sure to go to the SIGN-UP POST HERE ))

[Taking advice from one of the new residences, he tries the video network again. There's hope in his voice and heart that his wife landed in this place with him, just in a different area, perhaps, or floated away from him]

Iris? Iris West?

[He looks a lot less disheveled than the last video that he posted but no less scared distressed nervous]

Iris, can you hear me? Iris, if you're out there, please contact me on this thing.

[Barry looks like a cross between panicked and outraged.]

Can anyone tell me how to get home from here?! My wife is going to be very upset that I've been kidnapped. She's a very well respected detective with the Central City Police Department and--

[He runs a hand through his hair and looks around, clearly fretting now.]

Oh gosh, Iris. What is Iris going to say? What is she going to do? I hope she finds this place. Wherever this place is.

[He looks directly at the device again before pointing wildly at the pod he had escaped from.]

I-I-I woke up in that...that thing!

[He has the white box clutched tightly under his arm because he assumed that the rest of the items within it were important. At least the hologram that he encountered said that they were important. He had found the phone and decided to at least put out an all call.]
