A) Outside the house:

Baby it’s cold outside...but who doesn’t love building some snowmen by the pond? Or lighting up some fireworks? Drop to the ground and make your own snow angels by the pond too, before the falling snow covers everything again.

B) Inside the house: 

The house it’s been decorating following both the Christmas tradition and the time-honoured Galactic holiday: Life Day. And thus you can find Christmas decorations hanging on the ceiling and walls, candles by the windows, ominous elf shelves sitting on random places, cookies and sweets...and also wookie paper chains, Life Day orbs created using clear Christmas balls with jewels to make them shine and a miniature Life Tree made out of cardboard and paper with the branches and roots made out of crushed and twisted craft paper.

Red is also traditional, so there's a lightweight red felt tablecloth on the table. The table is laid with an assortment of foods, all of them strange, more than a few horrifying. The proud owner of a copy of Christmas Cooking With Cassie will remember a number of dishes from the book, such as the shrimps pyramid with a savory fish filling and the stuffed salmon. If you think the lobster is trying to walk away, that’s just your imagination, promise. Among the foods from home there is a jug of green milkshake, which smells suspiciously of fish, and perfectly normal Wookiee-ookiee. You might be less amused by such foods as deep-fried gorg or pickled space worm but it’s all perfectly edible! On the other hand Garrus gets a special dextro food selection, which is smaller, but looks like a perfectly normal meal.

C) Mistletoe:

No Christmas party is complete without some Mistletoe here and there to make it even more special. Make sure the person you get caught with under the mistletoe is the one you want...or soldier on if they aren’t.

D) By the tree /Present sharing:

The proper Christmas tree is a huge monstrosity of a tree whose tip nearly brushes the ceiling of the room - but only nearly, which is a good thing for the Swablu which keeps flying to and fro, busy building a nest at the top of the tree. It looks strangely mauled in some places, and has been secured in place with several sturdy ropes spanning the width of the room as if it had to withstand a tsunami. Presents are scattered under the tree, but nosy partygoers beware! Get too close, and you run the risk of a white hellcat leaping out of the tree at you.

Once it’s time for present sharing it’s quite possible you’ll have to fight the cat to get yours. Consider this the boss challenge of your Christmas quest!

E) Choose your own adventure:

Pretty self explanatory. Wanna take a look around the house? Need some quietness? Would you like to go play with the pokemon? Crash on the couch and watch a Christmas movies? Feel free.

Did someone say snowball fight?!....no? Oh, well sorry, you just got hit by a snoball regardless. Better retaliate or take cover.


D) By the tree /Present sharing | For Dorothy

Dorothy's present, being a black and white small kitten, is not something that can be put in a box and left alone. It's strange not to leave anything for her on the tree so Kay leaves there a Christmas card with a not that reads 'Merry Christmas, come ask me abotu your present. -K' for her to find.

Dorothy was coming in and dropping off her gifts, leaving them beneath the tree as seemed to be traditional in this place, when she finds the note.

Curious, she wanders through the house, looking for Kay.

Once she finds him, she says, "Happy Heaven's Day, Life Day, and Christmas. You instructions said I should ask you about my gift."

Kay is wearing a bright orange scarf that even wrapped around his neck a few times, it's still long enough to reach his knees. It's a present courtesy of Chrara and it makes him even easier to spot.

He turns once he hears her voice, his own cheerful and happy. "Dorothy, Happy Holidays. So good you could come. Ah, yes...I couldn't leave your present here with the others, so it's in my bedroom. Can you follow me? The room's upstairs."

It's odd, he knows, but they had a lot of pets and Pokemon in the house already and a small kitten could be in danger of being stepped on. Kay left him on inside a large pet crate with a bowl of water and a huge blanket for the cat to sleep on.

A | Totally on time

[Garrus had stepped outside to take a work call, the house a little too noisy. He'd just hung up when the snow impacts the back of his head, the force causing it to tip his head down. Having grown up on a planet with no snow, Garrus has been spared of snowball fights as a kid and has no idea why he was just pelted with a ball of cold. He turns around and stares at Kay like he has two heads. That was very odd behavior for the droid. A simple "Hey" would have gotten his attention just fine.

He opens his mouth to address him before closing it again. He's not even sure what he's supposed to say to that.]

[Garrus, you are very tall...therefore an easy target.

Kay has another snowball in his hand and he's aiming to throw it at him...except Garrus isn't moving. When the Turian just stands there, Kay stops and tilts his head.]

You're supposed to try and dodge!

A) Outside
Sonico is wrapped up cosy and warm, kneeling in the snow to make a little family of snow bunnies.

Later on when it's darker, she is extremely excited about helping out with the fireworks. Safely, of course, but she is very excited.

C) Mistletoe

If Sonico is under the mistletoe with a good friend, they'll get a quick but friendly peck on the cheek. If your name is Mobius, instead Sonico will blush and just spend a moment or two staring at your lips...

"Hard at work, I see," Cassian remarked, draping his new scarf tighter around his neck as he joined Sonico outside, and inspected the family of snow bunnies she was creating.

"I'm so glad the snow didn't melt before the holidays." He'd really missed celebrating a holiday, any holiday, in the snow.

"Mhm!" She acknowledged him, but she was busy shaping a final pair of bunnies, the smallest of the family. That done after another second or two, she stood to admire her work, wiping her gloved hands down her sides. "There we go! I'm glad too - it wouldn't be winter if I didn't get the chance to make snowbunnies!"

Mistletoe

[Mobius had only just learned about this bizarre tradition recently and somehow he can't help but to be a little cheeky as he casually stood next to her. He's fighting himself, because he desperately wants to just swoop in for that kiss, but he just couldn't resist smiling at her and tilting his head innocently to the side.]

Hm? What's up, Sonico? Isss there something on my face?

Hmm? No. Your face is...

*Argh. She is no good at this. Plus, this is in her house, and others might see them. Would that be okay with him? Sonico clears her throat, still gazing at his face*

Your face is...very handsome. I was just - just looking at it... That's all.

[Garrus curses under his breath when he turns and gets yet another face full of mistletoe. The joys of being 7 feet tall. He goes to bat it out of his way, but when he notices that he's not alone under there this time. He blinks in surprise at Sonico then stares blankly at the mistletoe. He spent enough time around humans to know what this means. 

He looks back down at her, mouth hanging awkwardly open for a moment as he tries to find words. He was very clearly unprepared for this.]

I have a girlfriend, so...

[He really doesn't want to kiss her.  Hopefully that's cool with her, but having never met her before he's not sure how she'll react to the news.]

*Sonico had been looking at the mistletoe but was smiling to herself at the effort her housemates had put into the day rather than thinking about kissing anyone.

When her guest looks at her, at first she blushes, wondering if maybe he wants to kiss her. She can't help but look a little relieved when it seems he's quite uncomfortable about the idea*

And I have a boyfriend.

*She looks really very happy about saying that, glancing around to see if Mobius was about*

So...since we don't know each other, what about... a hug instead?

A) OUTSIDE THE HOUSE - OTA

Dorothy is standing on the roof, looking for fireworks. Don't worry, Cassian. This is a very sturdy part of the roof. She's not going to cave it in with her weight, she promises.


B) INSIDE THE HOUSE - ELF ON A SHELF - OTA

... She has no idea what she's looking at.

But these sorts of things are everywhere in the house.

Are they sentries, as in Fayren? Are they merely decoration? Do they serve a purpose she's been unaware of?

She's just. Staring.


D) BY THE TREE - OTA

Gently petting her new kitten, Dorothy is watching to see if others are going to be opening her gifts to them anytime soon - and to see what other gifts people had given her friends, too.

(( OOC: if you weren't mentioned specifically in the gift exchange thread, you're getting a small gift card from Dorothy to the cafe that's nearest to your home address. ))

The elves did look pretty creepy, Cassian thought as he joined Dorothy in studying one of the displays.

"I don't think they were made by Alice," he remarked, but a faint undertone of doubt remained. Honestly, he would feel a lot safer if they had been made by the puppeteer. It was the strange, unknown cheery dolls that were creepy. "They are very... cheerful."

[pianola]

"... Cheerful."

Her tone of voice indicated a great deal of doubt that that was the correct adjective.

Without looking away from them, she asked, "What are they for?"

[Surprisingly, it's Garris who is worried about the girl on the roof, not Cassian. He has no idea what she's doing up there, but it's not the safest place to stand.]

[ She looks down, looking completely unconcerned.

She also does not appear to be dressed well for the weather. ]

I am fine.

My balance is very good.

A - Outside the house

As bewildered as he was by the sudden explosion of Christmas in the house, he was equally bewildered by the sculptures. What were they of anyway? He tilted his head, looking at them.

He'd be up to playing in the snow though, if anyone asked, and he was willing to admit it.

B - Inside the house

Looking around, it was like Christmas threw up in the house, and he seemed bewildered by the change, and not terribly pleased about it, but he was asked to help with one thing or another, and he just went with it. He probably wasn't going to completely escape the holiday, no matter what he did.

He settled in a corner with his sitar, and it was as big as he was, but playing music absently was better than being totally grumpy.

C - Kitchen

Demyx decided if he was going to be forced to endure Christmas cheer, he was going to do something to participate, and he had a pot over the stove with apple cider, warming them up and he was adding cinnamon to it. He was also sweetening it. Even if no one else wanted the concoction, he'd drink it.

D - Open choice!

It would have taken a less observant person than Cassian to overlook that Demyx wasn't particularly happy about the festivities that had overtaken the house, but as long as he could be nagged convinced to help it didn't matter much to him. He would come around, and it wasn't like Cassian was all that much into being social either. If one of them could suck it up for the sake of their friends, so could the other.

With that backstory, he was very surprised to find Demyx in the kitchen, stirring a pot which he hadn't ordered him to take care of.

"That smells good," he noted, leaning in close to peer into the pot.

[Garrus turns his head when he hears the soft strumming coming from the stairs and stares at Demyx witha a slight frown on his face. He knows most of the people here but this is certainly an unfamiliar face. Still, even if he's not too focused on this instrument he's pretty good.]

Not bad. Are you planning on performing something?

[Because why else would have brought a sitar with him to a party?]

[ Emerald brought no presents for anyone and the tree is kinda weird, but at least she'd dressed like. Not horribly. She did at least choose not to wear Cassian's jacket to the party and instead opted for something a little merrier. :D

On her shoulder, there is a weird pink blob just kinda hanging out (her ditto) and her other Pokemon, Espurr and Kabutops are wandering around being.. well, probably not being super nice to the other Pokemon, but at least not being total assholes either. They seem familiar with Christmas. Those who know Emerald know she usually doesn't let her Pokemon usually out to play with others, so this is improvement, right?? Right.

If anyone tries to catch her under the mistletoe, they will get punched in the face. For the most part she's not going to be talking to many people unless spoken to first, but she will try the different foods unless they're a hella weird color, and she will be taking all of the elves off of the shelves to try to collectively try to put them in the garbage disposal. Why would anyone ever buy those things?? ]

[ It takes Cassian a while to notice the latest additions to their menagerie amidst all that chaos of different animals and pokemon running havoc in the house. It finally clicks when he catches sight of a Kabutops on top of one of the shelves, poking at one of the horrifying Christmas elves with its scythes while his own Vanillite is chattering at the skeleton-like creature.

His brows rise as he recalls Emerald's reaction the first and only time he'd invited her to let their pokemon socialize.

He finds Emerald herself by the food and joins her. ]

Do you like what I did with the recipes from the cookbook?

[Garrus spots Emerald collecting the elves, immensely grateful somebody is trying to get rid of them. Those things are fucking weird. He's seen her before in his building and knows that she's friends with Mercury so he figures he should probably introduce himself. He approaches her in his own festive sweater with a  (thankfully normal) drink in one hand and a black garbage bag in the other. Based on what he's seen of other people's reactions here, it seems that nobody  - including the hosts -  wants those creepy elves here. ]

[ Cassian's dressed himself nicely for the occasion, even foregoing his uniform for a suit. Well, okay, he's decided to wear all red in honor of Life Day, an unusual look for him to say the least. He's still looking quite worn, but you can see him obviously making an effort today, and at the very least be a good host if nothing else.

Still, socializing means more to put himself out there while keeping to the edges of the party and observing people, keeping himself approachable but still a little apart from the festivities. It's close enough, he'll keep himself busy with making sure the food and drinks never run out as he usually does when they have guests.

You'll find him occasionally berating a mischievous pokemon or pet before they can cause misfortune for some hapless guest - his Mudkip in particular seems to believe they would all profit from a mud facial.

As their get-together progresses and he grows wearier, you might even catch him carelessly lingering under the mistletoe. ]

[Man, Cassian definitely looks like he's seen some better days. Seriously, he looks like crap before but for Garrus' Misdreavus to motion to him  worriedly...  Well, that about says it all.

He throws out his empty plate, extremely happy to be dextro for once, and heads over to him. he's going to grab one of the weird green milkshakes for him, but the smell is alarming to say the least so he's opted to head over empty-handed.]

You look like you could use a break. Want to step out and get some air?

[It's cold as balls out there, but he knows Cassian likes it.]
