[Honestly, she's not sure what to think of this place just yet. Obviously, it's different than anything she's ever experienced, except maybe Mortis, and it also doesn't seem like the kind of place the Empire could find her. Still, it doesn't hurt to be cautious, even though it might just make her stand out more.

So, when Ahsoka first posts to the network, it's only with a simple voice message. Those who know her might recognize her anyways, but oh well. Her voice is friendly, if a little nervous as she speaks,]

My name is Ashla. Sorry to be posting like this when I think everyone else is showing their face, but I'm... kinda shy? 

[Yep, definitely drawing more attention to it.]

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone around here needs a mechanic, or knows someone or somewhere that does. I'm decent with my hands, whether it's droids, ships, farm equipment... you name it. I'm also willing to do odd jobs or courier work or anything, really. I just happen to be better at the mechanic stuff, you know.

[Ahsoka is no more known to Padmé than Ashla is, yet she has been here long enough to know that time lines are a tricky thing. Unlike Grievous, she doesn't start with a more hostile approach.

She would like so say that she knows her, but she doesn't, and it likely does reflect on her face.

Padmé might look a little younger with a little less weight on her shoulders.

To answer that though is rather delicate, as the last thing that she recalls isn't exactly something that she feels comfortable sharing with a stranger, even if the stranger might know her.]

I'd returned to Naboo, after going to Coruscant after a battle on Geonosis.

[Which, she hopes, tells the Togruta what she needs to know.]

[It's hard to hide that she's disappointed by that response, but she also knows it's not the senator's fault. Still, it complicates things. Especially with the whole you're going to die thing.]

My name is Ahsoka Tano. I'm- or I was the padawan of Anakin Skywalker. That's how I know you. We were... we were friends too.

[Padmé doesn't like to see the crestfallen look, even if there is nothing she can do to help it, but the next bit of information is not something that she had known yet.]

Ani had a padawan?

[He failed to mention that, although perhaps it has not happened for him yet? After all, the Anakin she knows is still a padawan himself, although here he is clearly no longer that. And there has been a lot of knowledge tossed her way recently.]

It is nice to meet you, Ahsoka- as strange as that probably sounds to you.

[Despite everything, hearing her call Anakin Ani gets Ahsoka to smile. And honestly try to hold back a laugh or two. She was much more used to General Skywalker and Senator Amidala... Not Ani.]

It's nice to meet you too. Although, I guess I don't have to say that or? I'm not sure. It feels weird to say it, but also weird not to say it back so...

But yes! Ani had a padawan. I guess... all three of us are from different times.

Ah. I suppose it was Master Skywalker, wasn't it?

[Although it seems strange to say that out loud.

Maybe it is due to their closeness, or just Anakin in general. He's never quite been like the other Jedi Masters. She's found them... stiff and formal and seemingly cold.

She does give a nod though, confirming her last statement.]

I arrived not too long ago, but it would seem that, for all intensive purposes, I am the youngest when it comes to times.

Usually just Master or Anakin, honestly. Although I'm thinking Ani might just catch on...

[Talking like this made it feel like nothing had happened, like she was 14 again. Of course, the feeling doesn't last long. It's impossible to forget what she's been through, especially now.]

And I'm the oldest, technically. Which is a little... But I was wondering, has Anakin told you anything about the future?

[Which... Well, Padmé doesn't know how they were, although Ahsoka seems like she is feisty enough, and if they had had a good relationship as Master and Padawan... Although she generally is the only one who calls him that now.]

I'd say you didn't hear it from me when he questions it, but it would be fairly obvious.

[A little cock of her head, wondering what Ahsoka has seen, but she answers the question.]

Some. The war is still going on, and it has all but just started for me. There are others here, from our galaxy, though.

[snippings]

In my time, the war has ended.

[Or that war has, at least. This probably sounds like good news, she knew that, but... As she continues, she starts to seem much older than her appearance would let on.]

I don’t know how much I should tell you. Or how much you want to know even. I’d say something about the balance of everything, but... I’m not a Jedi.

[democratically]

[She doesn't know the policy on the future. Should one know? Yet if one shouldn't know, why would this place allow such things to happen?

How long does it last, Padmé debates asking, although she understands the position that Ahsoka is in. It isn't as if there is a manual for that here. In a way, it would almost make things easier, but on the other side, it would be an itch that one would be trying not to scratch.]

I honestly don't know either. All of it and none of it. [But she doesn't put Ahsoka under the spotlight.] You're not? Did you- you left the Order?

[snippings]

Yes, I did. I think that's why Anakin might not have mentioned me. That or, there's a lot that's happened in the last few years.

[Ahsoka knows Anakin wanted her to return, but at the same time she's not so self-centered to think one padawan leaving was the end of the world.]

I think we'd be here forever if I tried to tell you everything, though. But if there's something... something you absolutely need to know, I'll tell you.

I haven't questioned too much what has happened during those years since I can recall.

[A bit here and there, and some information from other sources - some troubling - but aside from that, Padmé has been trying to understand this place more.]

Thank you, Ahsoka. I will take that under consideration. Is there anything you need help with though? I did mean it. There are a variety of places where you could find employment.

It's probably best if we keep ourselves focused on what's in front of us, not behind. Or... ahead, in your case.

[Which is technically frontward as well, but she means the present! And speaking of, Ahsoka should probably listen to her own advice.]

I'll be alright. I'm sorta used to stuff like this by now. Not exactly obviously, but... I can handle myself. And it's good to see you and Anakin again too.

[There are some things that are easier said than done.

If what the Doctor, or one of them, has said is true, anything learned here cannot be acted upon. Whether that is true or not, Padmé cannot know until she returns. If what Ani has told her... If what this Han has told her...

It is that battle between letting it trouble her or living in the here and now. She hasn't found a balance yet.]

Of course. If you were a padawan of Anakin's, I've no doubt you can handle yourself. But, we are both here as well.

[With Padmé in front of her, or at least her image, it was easier to calm down and try to piece this all together. Still, she has a nagging feeling that she needs to do more. It reminds her of the visions she once had, although this time she's actually seen the full future.]

Actually, I'm curious about what you guys have been up to. Where do you and Anakin live? And work too, since Anakin and I have a pretty similar skill set.

[Where do her and Anakin live? It does have Padmé pausing, wondering how much Ahsoka knows. Of course it could be a generic where do you live and where does Anakin live - separately, not together.]

At the moment, I'm still at the apartment that they gave you on arrival. Anakin was, to use his words, roughing it.

[Until Padmé speaks to Anakin, she will just have to go on her instinct, which does say that Ahsoka is telling the truth, but Padmé isn't certain what she has been privy to.]

He works at Aster Technologies on Nova City.

[snippings]

That does sound like Anakin.

[She says with a bit of a laugh. Her question had been phrased casually, the same way she might ask about Master Obi-Wan. Although, she can more easily see him and Anakin living together, the same way soldiers had to during the war.]

You think he can give me a recommendation? It sounds like Nova City's the closest to our galaxy, or at least that I won't stand out there as much.

[There might be a hint of mild exasperation, but there is a tempered fondness there as well. She does love him, truly and deeply, even if he decided to go about things in what seemed a slightly harder manner than what he needed to.

She nods after a moment. Of course it would be up to Anakin, but her husband has always been helpful (to an extent).]

I don't see why not, although I certainly wouldn't lead with the whole Ani thing.

Hm, I'll take that into consideration.

[With everything else she and Anakin are talking about, Ahsoka wonders if something light like that might actually help. Who knows.]

We'll have to meet up some time, though. If that's okay with you, I mean.
