[Honestly, she's not sure what to think of this place just yet. Obviously, it's different than anything she's ever experienced, except maybe Mortis, and it also doesn't seem like the kind of place the Empire could find her. Still, it doesn't hurt to be cautious, even though it might just make her stand out more.

So, when Ahsoka first posts to the network, it's only with a simple voice message. Those who know her might recognize her anyways, but oh well. Her voice is friendly, if a little nervous as she speaks,]

Um... hi! Wasn't really expecting all this, but who would be--

[You're rambling, Ahsoka. Get to the point.]

My name is Ashla. Sorry to be posting like this when I think everyone else is showing their face, but I'm... kinda shy?

[Yep, definitely drawing more attention to it.]

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone around here needs a mechanic, or knows someone or somewhere that does. I'm decent with my hands, whether it's droids, ships, farm equipment... you name it. I'm also willing to do odd jobs or courier work or anything, really. I just happen to be better at the mechanic stuff, you know.

Master...

[She wants to believe in him. She really does. But stopping the destruction of the entire Jedi Order? It was too much for even all of the Jedi Masters to handle.]

Can you promise me you'll survive? That you'll make it out? You'll be able to do more then. You could help me and Senator Organa and we could try to find the others too! Focus on that instead.

Of course I will.

[ He looks at her, doing his best to look reassuring. ]

The Chancellor is my friend. I'm sure that if I talk to him I can make him see reason!

[ He has hopes. ]

Did you hear anything I just said?!

[Obviously accepting something like that about the Chancellor would be difficult at first, but... Come on, Anakin!]

He’s not going to listen to reason! The farther away from him and the Empire you can get, the safer you’ll be. Trust me. Please.

[ Palpatine was something like a father to him, Ahsoka... ]

I heard you, but... Maybe he confused something? He isn't a bad man... I've never known him as one. Something must have happened to him.

[ At least his loyalty and faith in his friends is one of his good traits? ]

[And it doesn't feel great to hear your something like a father defend the guy who wants you dead!]

Have you thought about the fact that maybe, just maybe you don't really know him? This isn't something you do when you're confused or a small mistake or an accident or anything like that!

Or you know what? Sure. The Empire sent someone after me because they wanted to have a nice, long chat. They tortured my friend because that's what you do when you're confused!

Anakin. I met a child who feared for her safety because she was connected to the Force. She didn't fully understand it, but I knew.

You don't know the Empire like I do. Please, just listen to me.

[ And he's silent for a moment. He knows she's right, and yet he still wants there to be some sort of hope for his friend. His friend the Chancellor - The good man he has known all these years and that has always been there to listen to him and support him and offer advice when going to any of the Jedi Masters only resulted in frustration.

Looking down, he frowns. ]

...without the Jedi there is no one to look after the Force-sensitive younglings scattered across the galaxy...

[ He thinks this out loud, then glances away. ]

You're right... You're right, Ahsoka. I don't know the Empire like you do. To me... It's all in the future. None of this has happened.

[ And he has never been given any reason to distrust Palpatine. That's what's making this so hard to digest. ]

I know. That's why I need you to trust me.

[She looks to him, a serious expression on her face.]

I wouldn't lie to you. [Okay, that's not true and they both know it, so she adds,] Not about this. The others I've spoken to, Cassian and Kaytoo, they can back up everything I've told you.

[ At this, he frowns. ]

I trust you, Ahsoka. These two... I don't know them enough to fully trust their word.

[ Even though he likes Kaytoo, but that's the droid bonus.

He pauses for a moment, then adds: ]

By the way... If you ever happen to need a room... I just got an apartment in Nova City. I'll be staying there with Padmé, but there's plenty of room if you need some.

[ Has he asked his wife? No, not really. But how could he not offer to help out his former student. ]

We're all on the same side. From what I can tell, they're doing similar work to what I was doing before I came here.

[His offer gets her to raise an eyebrow at him.]

You'll be staying in the same place? Isn't that a little improper, Ani?

[Probably not the best response to him offering her a place to stay, but...]

[ He would have responded to the first part and renewed his doubt, but then Ahsoka had to drop that nickname on him and he all but sputters. ]

Wha- What did you just call me?! Ahsoka!

[ Okay, maybe he's getting a little red around the ears, but kriffing Malachor! ]

You got that from Padmé, didn't you?

[ Hear his suffering whine of disapproval. Well, okay. He shouldn't be surprised, should he? The two of them were friends as well. Close friends. And sometimes they did risky things together, much to his disapproval... ]

[Ahsoka bursts into laughter, since this was even better than she had expected. Moments like these with Anakin, and with Padmé, almost made it feel like nothing had happened. Almost.]

To her credit, she did, heh, she did warn me not to lead with that. Sorry... Master Ani.

But I'd like that. Although, I am still curious about why you two are living together...

[ While Ahsoka is still laughing, Anakin manages to regain his composure and points at his former Padawan. ]

Snips, don't over do it!

[ He warns, but it's not as seriously said and meant as it would be if he were truly mad. At her question, though, he sputters briefly. ]

Ah-- Well. We're... We're friends? We've known one another for years and... It's safer for her that way? She's still a Senator and Grievous as well as Bane are here, remember?

[ He at least hopes she accepts that... At least for now. ]

[At that little outburst, she stops and moves onto more important things, though she's still got a pretty big grin on her face. She'll need to ask Padmé more about Ani.]

I guess that makes sense... But it seems like Senator Amidala would need nicer living arrangements than rooming with Anakin Skywalker. Who was apparently "roughing" it.

[ And once more Anakin makes a short, sputtering noise. ]

R-roughing it?!

[ That sounded ominously like a quote and he's just... Well. Gesturing a bit wildly. ]

We-- I- We didn't- I mean... I was just-- I was doing okay on my own!

[ Even if he pretty much lived outdoors, yes. And also yes, he just babbled out some nonsense right there. ]

The place we got is a good one! I made sure of that.

Hey, according to Padmé those were your words, not mine.

[Anakin, are you really sure you want them living together when this is what they get up to already? Still, she nods knowingly, to let her master know his words are maybe sorta reaching her.]

I guess we'll see, huh? Not that I really require much myself...

[ He grimaces briefly at her, but then decides to let the topic go. ]

Well, I guess you were raised as a Jedi after all.

[ And then he smiles. ]

You have no idea how much I've missed you since you left.

[And lived through two wars. Thinking of what she's been through recently, and seeing her old master smile... it all hits her so suddenly.]

Shouldn't- [Ahsoka stops herself, holding back tears] Shouldn't I be the one saying that?

[This whole time she's had to be strong and nothing else. Anything else and she'd be dead. She hugs him close, this time not letting go so quickly.]

I've missed you so much, Anakin! It's so stupid... but don't you dare laugh! Sometimes I'd think about what you would do- or Master Obi-Wan! If you were there with me. And it helped a little. But I had honestly given up on ever seeing you again... I'm so glad I was wrong.

[ He gladly returns the hug, though not without feeling a pang of sadness. He may have lost her first, but she had lost everyone. Loss. Letting go... He can't imagine having to live through that on such a grand scale. ]

...I'm sorry, Ahsoka. I wish you didn't have to go through all that.

[ Ahsoka is the last person to deserve anything like that to happen to her. ]

And I will do my best to fix this, okay?

It's not your fault. Don't... don't apologize.

[When she first left the Jedi Order, no when all of that first happened... she had already felt like she lost everyone. But it was hard nowadays to be as angry as she had felt then.]

We can do it together. I don't know if we can really "fix" anything, but... we can fight back.

I at least have to try and fix it.

[ Because it's broken. and he's good at fixing broken things, so hopefully he can fix a broken future. ]

But yeah. Let's do it together. If we want to have any chance, we've got to work together.

You can't fix everything, Anakin. But...

[She hugs him tighter.]

I won't leave you again. I promise.
