[ Zeref appears to be in the middle of Fayren City; a very bad place for him to see something that angered him, or at least severely embarrassed him. He's glaring, but his eyes are barely visible; they're not quite red and glowing yet, though. ]

Who in their right mind would think this was a good idea? [ Zeref holds up a flier for the beauty pageant. The camera is centered on his name, in the list of male contestants. ] Whoever you are, do you realize what could happen if I participated in something like this!?

[ Ignoring the fact that he'd sooner volunteer one of the Books of Zeref to be reviewed in the Genessia Tribune, if his magic activated in the middle of something like that... ]

I can't participate in this. I'm sorry.

[ While he wouldn't trust Kefka as far as he could throw him, there's no real way to prove he is lying, not when there are others he's met who would also do this kind of thing, if only out of naivete.

I still do not trust the 'true' purpose of these charms.

Mavis has one of the most brilliant tacticians in my world, and is able to analyze everything about another person just by watching them. Even I can't match her in that. I spent an extremely long period of time living on that island with her. It won't work.

[ He probably shouldn't be telling him that, but he knows Kefka wouldn't offer something like this out of the kindness of his heart. ]

That said... if anyone is powerful enough to create a barrier strong enough to contain my magic, it's Mavis.
