[ Zeref appears to be in the middle of Fayren City; a very bad place for him to see something that angered him, or at least severely embarrassed him. He's glaring, but his eyes are barely visible; they're not quite red and glowing yet, though. ]

Who in their right mind would think this was a good idea? [ Zeref holds up a flier for the beauty pageant. The camera is centered on his name, in the list of male contestants. ] Whoever you are, do you realize what could happen if I participated in something like this!?

[ Ignoring the fact that he'd sooner volunteer one of the Books of Zeref to be reviewed in the Genessia Tribune, if his magic activated in the middle of something like that... ]

Well, you did... [ He blinks. That must be what she meant. ] I apologize, I had thought, perhaps, this had happened here.

No, it was a while before I got to this place. Though there's someone here I know who used to have "Endless" magic, but it's all gone so there's nothing we can do with that.

What is 'Endless Magic?'

An name that I personally think acted as an excuse for him to be a butthead and do whatever he wanted with it and he chose to wear a really corny cape.

You haven't seen him actually use it?

I have seen him use it, but he only ever used it for stupid stuff around me like getting me a towel since it was always raining back then, or getting his cape back every time I tried to steal it. Teleportation, too.. He didn't use it for big things around me, really.

Hmm... { So, he can create things. It sounded similar to another form of magic he had heard was being used on Tenroujima, but that wasn't much to go on. } I've been curious what forms of magic exist on other worlds. Is there anything more you can tell me?

About Battler's magic? Mm.. I think it could only exist as long as the gameboard did, but he's writing a book about it so I probably shouldn't give spoilers.

Uh, they were really screwed up games. His entire family was murdered and he was forced to use their spirits as game pieces to play against these witches. It's complicated, and he's probably the best one to describe it. I wasn't there for most of it.

{ Wow. Even to someone like Zeref, that was... monstrous. And he's seen some pretty messed up things over the centuries. }

[ Yuri won't try to argue that at all. She didn't like to compare stories of who had the worst fates, especially since she knew that it didn't matter whose was worse for someone to be in pain because of it, but Battler's took the cake. She'd been with him as a friend for a good portion of it, then as his girlfriend toward the end and there were some points when she couldn't even handle it. ]

I think writing about it is helping him work through it though. Even if just a little bit.

{ He doesn't comment on the writing bit. After all, the things he's written have done just as much harm to the world as he himself has done, if not more. }

Can you tell me more about these 'witches?'

They're a bunch of sickos who want nothing more than to stop being bored. Well, most of them. Then there's that whole thing with the logic magic.. like..

[ How does she explain this? ]

They can say things in color and they act as attacks, sort of. Blue is a theory, red is truth. If the theory can't be disproved it becomes a weapon and attacks the opponent, even if it isn't an absolute truth. If you try to say something false in red it'll bring serious harm to the person who said it. Though both can be easily used to trick people if you know how to phrase things the right away.

[ She hated that, especially since Battler used that with her more than once to make points so that she wouldn't worry or he'd force her to figure things out about him by making her think horrible things until she figured it out. She understood why he had to, since the game would've fallen apart if certain things were revealed but it was still difficult. ]

They could summon killer bunny girls and things like that too, or use duct tape to eliminate possibilities in theories. Really painful gold chain things too, I got strung up to a wall once. It was a detective-style game, so things like that were pretty common.

{ ... Wow. Zeref has seen some pretty bizarre forms of magic, but that was... creative. Even his demons would have been impressed with that. }

[ It was pretty complicated and it seemed like every time she understood what was going on while it was happening, something else would pop up and make it confusing again. ]

I will admit, I've never seen any form of magic like that before. It sounds awful, and yet... { he has a sort of morbid curiosity. }

And yet nothing, it's absolutely stupid.

You should ask him if you want more details. If I knew how it worked and what the extent of it was, I could probably use it to do stupid things like pull roses out of nothingness to pretend to flirt with someone in front of Battler so he screams. It's pretty funny when he does his "Uwwwoooogh!" dying seal noises but I don't get them out of him as often anymore since he's used to most of my teasing.

I... wouldn't know. { Flirting and making others jealous isn't exactly his field of expertise. } I'm afraid I can't help you with that.
