[Upon arrival, Natalia listened very carefully to the holographic message. The delivery was fascinating, even if the information conveyed was...troubling, to put it lightly. But to panic would be unbecoming her station. There was more she needed to know. As such, she followed the instructions given and visited the Schnee Company's Genessia division. There she sat calmly and politely, asking her questions, and receiving her answers. It did much to put her fears to rest, particularly once she knew that time would not pass until she returned. The expedition to the Absorption Gate would not be stalled on account of her disappearance.]
[That meant her next step was to get herself settled. It was very strange to think about integrating herself as one of this small world's citizens and living as one of them. But if that was the way things were done, she had little choice but to do them. She still needed money to eat, after all, and her gald was simply no good here.]
[So, after placing a request for job suggestions at the employment office, she finally feels secure enough to make her first video transmission.]
[And there she is, her bearing as regal as it ever was, her manner of speech refined and stately.]
Greetings. My name is Natalia Luzu Kimlasca-Lanvaldear. I have just arrived in this world, and I look forward to making your acquaintance.
[The young woman inclines her head.]
As one of the citizens of this world, for the time being I am inclined to offer my assistance, both to the cities in general as well as to you, the inhabitants, until the powers that be see fit to return me to my world of Auldrant. Should there be any urgent matters, please, I beg you to alert me at once. I am a master of Lanvaldear-style archery, and you'll find that I'm quite adept at healing Artes as well.
[She's still wearing her quiver, even though she's seated calmly on the edge of her bed within the Commonsroom she was assigned.]
I also have extensive experience organizing and assisting with public works projects. You will not find me content to sit idly by awaiting dismissal.
Should you have any questions, please make them known. Farewell.
[Natalia hesitates for a moment as she furrows her brow, seeking the switch that ends the feed. Once the transmission is ended, she draws a deep breath and releases it slowly. Strangely enough, she doesn't feel frightened or particularly shaken. But perhaps, she's willing to concede, she may be in a state of shock and disbelief.]
[That seems unlikely, though.]
[Picking up her bow and slinging it over her shoulders, the princess departs her quarters and moves into the snowy streets. Given that her last location was the northern and frigid city of Keterburg, at least there's no great change in temperature or weather. She meant what she said about not wishing to sit about; the best way to acclimate herself to this world is to explore it and meet others face to face. And that is exactly what she sets out to do.]

And so long as you're taking questions--odd; usually the other way around--would you elaborate on healing Artes? That sounds handy to have.
[Natalia tells him the meaning of Luzu, since she would know, but it's not otherwise canon information that gets told. His requests actually prompts a small measure of discomfort, as her name is more or less not truly her own, and was only accepted after great hardship. Nonetheless, that's too heavy a story for a first meeting, so her response remains polite.]
Lanvaldear-Kimlasca is the name of the kingdom from which I hail.
Are you familiar with fonons? I was informed that others might not be aware of their existence and that they may be unique only to the people of Auldrant.
Re: [Video]
[No meaning behind that one is granted, if she's kind enough to spare him. He isn't for hers, asking for the kingdom's meaning too, heedless of her discomfort. He piques at the mention of fonons.]
Oh! Yes, I am. Hah, I mean, don't expect that kind of thing, but Jade, whom you might know, conversed with me about them. Something akin to...an atom, or an elemental particle? Am I close?
Ah, and you might know Sync too!
[He says, blithely as if she's a friend waiting to be made. If he only knew.]
[She's not sure what's more surprising -- that he knew Jade, or that Jade had actually bothered to explain something himself. Perhaps there was no one else conveniently nearby to foist the duty of explanation upon.]
Yes, that's correct. I'm a Seventh Fonist, that's what allows me the ability to heal the wounds of others.
[But if her eyes were wide before, they're even wider now upon hearing Sync's name. Could it truly be possible? But she saw him die, leaping voluntarily off the railing of the Tartarus and into the miasma...!]
I...am aware of his name, though I would not say that we are good friends. You've made his acquaintance, though?
Re: [Video]
[He knew seven as the best of numbers, signifying completeness. Now she's got him curious as to what that means and why it's suited to healing.]
Hah, sounds like you know more than just his name. Yes, I'd say so; we're actually coworkers. Decent young man; very diligent.
[Very, very young.]

This unit would ask how your healing Artes work, for comparison?
no subject
My! Are you a machine? How remarkable!
I suppose I should begin by first asking if you're familiar with fonons. If that is the case, then the rest of the explanation will be far more simple.

[S24 so far hasn't had to explain the whole 'built-from-a-criminal' thing, so avoiding that seems smart. That might freak people out.]
This unit is, unfortunately, not familiar with the concept. It is safe to assume that you would similarly be unaware of the concept of the Metadivine. This does rather complicate things, restricting to trying to find a shared metaphor.
... Preferably not a food one. This unit has learned that trying to use food ones usually results in people getting distracted. Quickly.
no subject
You're right, though. I don't believe I've heard of the Metadivine before.
no subject
But it still works fine here. As your Artes should. Which you'd think would be nonsensical, but..

[Her head is tipped to the side in thought, but her expression soon relaxes into a smile.]
I admit that I'm not truly qualified to speak of the matter in great detail, though. I would be interested to learn more about your world! I've never even entertained the thought of visiting planets other than Auldrant, so this is indeed a splendid opportunity!

Video;
Well, not quite. Eleanor quietly mused to herself for a bit. She is so absolutely darn certain she saw Natalia's likeness somewhere. A card game, probably. Screw it, whatever. Eleanor puts on a smile and a proper greeting.]
It's a pleasure to meet you, Natalia. I'm Eleanor Hume, Praetor Exorcist of the Abbey back on my world. It seems we share common goals, so I hope we can be good friends.
Video;
[They both speak very properly, so they have something else in common too.]
I don't believe I have ever encountered a genuine exorcist before. You dispel restless souls, then?
[Please tell her some good ghost stories, she's secretly hoping for them.]
[Action]
which means that this was unlike Cloud as he suddenly felt his back bumping into someone moments after hanging up.]
...! Uh..
[he wasn't going too fast, but as he turns to face a woman that he couldn't recall seeing around here before, he clears his throat slightly, a twinge of embarrassment in his voice]
Sorry..
[Action]
[The arrows in Natalia's quiver clatter woodenly as she staggers half a step with the unexpected impact. He didn't hit her hard enough to knock the communicator out of her hands, but it did make her accidentally shut it off with her thumb. At least she wasn't speaking with anyone, just studying the map of the city.]
[Natalia turns, startled, but at his sheepish apology, any traces of rising annoyance are swiftly forgotten.]
Please, the fault is just as much my own for standing in the middle of the avenue in such a careless fashion.
[Politely she steps to the side to let him pass, but now she's got her first good look at his...groceries. And top of his head. She can't see anything below his eyes at all!]
My, but your hands are rather full! May I take one of your bags for you?
[Action]
despite the fact he was getting more comfortable being here, a new life for however long this lasted until his family needed him back home, the blond was gonna have to take some getting used to the kindness he received. sooner or later he was going to have to pay it all back in spades. pay it forward, as it were.
Natalia's offer grants him pause, and if it weren't for how straightforward she was, he might have refused.
that or her charisma. which made it hard to say no.he deliberates for a moment until finally, with a small huff as his breath is visible upon the faintly chill air, he extends a hand with one of his bags of groceries. the lighter one. it wasn't that far from here from the Stone Ridge apartments.]Thanks. [his expression softens; something told him that even if he refused that she'd have insisted. that and it was hard to pull off a "not interested" these days when he was surrounded by good natured people. the bow and quiver of arrows upon her back have the blond curious, but he doesn't say anything yet as he hadn't caught her message over the network yet.] I'm Cloud.
Can't say I've seen you around here before.
[Action]
No, I've only just arrived. My name is Natalia. A pleasure.
[While she has no reason to hide her royal title, there's also no reason to flaunt it. Besides, there would surely be some mistaken understanding that she expected obedience and better treatment, and really, she would much rather not.]
Do you live here formally, or were you brought here in the same fashion as I?
[Action]
[had she revealed her royal stature, Cloud would have respected it as well as he could have for someone not used to someone like her. royalty wasn't exactly common back home. though he supposed Yuffie technically counted... technically]
No, I woke up here a couple months ago. [it was a little jarring for him at first, stubborn as he was in his attempts to find a way back home. as they start walking again, his blond gaze turns to her]
Turns out it's easier to fit in here than it looks.
[Action]
[She inclines her head, careful to use both arms to keep a secure hold on the grocery bag.]
The brochures indicated that the differences between its citizens is far more stark outside of the central city. As it stands, why, you could easily pass for someone of my world!
[But now that she's had a moment to better study his face...]
...Or perhaps not. Your eyes have a glow I've never seen before. Is that common for your kind?
[Action]
... I could? [the remark about him passing as a citizen from her world surprises him. her attire is a lot more...was extravagant the right word? probably not, but she certainly would have stood out among the crowd of folk who usually resided in Edge. perhaps in the upper echelon of Midgar's finest when it used to exist, but...]
My eyes? [ah, while it's not a touchy subject (he's been asked before by the likes of Robin), Cloud knew that would come up eventually. SOLDIER or anything like it must have been unique to his planet after all] Not really. Only people who get exposed to a certain kind of energy have it.
[he's not lying. just maybe not telling the whole truth]
People who join SOLDIER have this done to them.
