[It had been a little more than a week before Hikari appeared on the network again. This time, however, was a notable improvement. Her hair looked freshly washed, face scrubbed. She had on weather-appropriate clothing, and her immediate surroundings indicated she was indoors. Specifically, in the apartment she'd been sharing with her friends. Currently, she was sitting on the couch, half wrapped in a thick blanket.]
[There was still no smile, but her eyes no longer looked dead.]
I...know I need to find a job. [The thought sounded so foreign to her, even now. Back home, she wouldn't have been old enough. No middle school would grant permission for a student to work part-time without extenuating family circumstances, and she'd never had any of those.] My friends have been wonderful. Takeru especially. But I know I can't expect them to keep taking care of me, and not help them out in return.
[A pause. Her words were slow, but she still needed an extra second to gather more thoughts. In that time, she glanced around as if nervous about getting caught even making the post at all. The last thing she wanted was for them to insist that she was fine and not a burden at all. Even if she felt like she was. To a degree.]
I can take pictures. Is...that something I could do? [She genuinely had no idea] I like animals. Especially cats. I could cook a little. Or help out around the schools, maybe. If it's not something I know how to do, I promise to try my best and learn
[ACTION]
[It was amazing how strongly one could feel the cold when they were aware enough to; Hikari gave a slightly shiver as another breeze hit the back of her neck, pulling the warm scarf a little tighter.]
[One could only sleep so much. Especially once she woke up and realized that she had very little idea of where she was. Oh, her friends had filled her in on the basics. She knew the names of a few places now. Events going on. Recent weather patterns. Adequate clothing had been acquired, and her stomach had rarely gone more than a minimal amount of time empty. But those were only the bare minimum requirements for survival. Her heart ached and her chest grew tight whenever she thought about it, but wallowing was doing nobody any good.]
[So she decided to venture out. Get a good look at a place she only barely remembered arriving in. The streets, the shops, the people...]
[But, first and foremost, the ice cream parlor. Because, even in mourning, HIkari knew where her priorities lay.]

[But, first and foremost, the ice cream parlor. Because, even in mourning, HIkari knew where her priorities lay.]

action
[He smiled slightly before going to open the door, stepping to the side for the moment.]
Ladies, first of course. [He knew he could tease her at this moment in time if he wanted to, but for now he choose to just be polite.]
action
[There were any number of comments that could have followed, but instead she chose to accept the moment of chivalry and smiled lightly at him as she stepped inside, making sure to give him plenty of room to enter as well because pausing in her tracks. Taking a good look around.]
[She saw many photographs on the walls. Unsurprisingly. What did surprise her was the fact that none of them seemed staged in any way. They were of locations and people caught in single moment instances of spontaneity. Offering the kind of expressions and situations one would miss if they blinked.]
action
This place seemed perfect for her really.]
Seems this place does the style you like to do. It's like it's the perfect job. [Which honestly, he was happy for. He figured that she might get the job here and do something that makes her happy. he did pause to think about his own choice in jobs however and if he was at a place he could see himself long term.]
What do you think though?
action
[They seemed to be all in public areas, for one. A park. Outside a coffee shop--was that Moonbucks, actually?]
...I like it. A lot.
action
Then you should apply to work here. I'll wait here and look around.
action
I shouldn't be long, hopefully.
action
[He gestured toward the pictures that were around. he figured he would play a game of did he knew the place or not.]
action
[He never had to do any of it. But he did. And she appreciated it every single time.]
[As promised, there was a bit of a delay in getting to speak to the person in charge, but the wait wasn't long at all. Hikari wasn't sure what she had been expecting. She'd never done an interview before. She hardly had a portfolio with her. And yet, she was able to walk out of there with a smile and mental note to return the next day to pick up some new equipment she could use.]
They said I can start tomorrow.
action
He had been currently kneeling down taking a look at a picture he believed was taken in Moonbucks. He was also pretty sure he was there that day. But he couldn't really be certain about that. The moment he heard the familiar voice he had moved to stand up, his smile evident in how happy he was about the news.]
Congratulations, Hikari. I'm so happy for you.
