Welcome to the Festival of Amore!
A wonderful festival dedicated to celebrating love of the romantic nature.

The whole park is decorated in the traditional colors of Valentine's Day, red, white, and various shades of pink. Hearts are the theme and though you won't be turned away, those without a partner to spend the evening with may get a few strange looks or start to feel rather lonely.

Festival Games
There are a number of activities to partake in, including festival games, the most popular of which seems to be the Super Ball Scooping, in which hundreds of balls float around in a pool of water, secretly marked with prizes- mostly goldfish, though there is one hidden that has a special romantic getaway to win! The challenge is that you must use a paper net, so the balls will often break as you try to get them into your bowl. Additionally, the balls are stirred up after each play of three scoops. Other traditional festival games like dart tossing, wack-a-mole, ring toss, and more. However, there is one challenge that you should be aware of for all games. You and your partner must do them together! This means two hands on the ring when you toss it! Hold the paper net steadily together! Good luck!

Food Stalls and the Chocolate Fondue Stream
There are a variety of foods from around the world available at the festival, most of which seem to have some kind of love-related theme to them. Spaghetti for two a la Lady and the Tramp, heart-shaped pizzas, pink french macarons, hearty waffles on a stick, romantic eggs in a basket, Shrimp skewers, and more.

Running through the inner circle of the food stall areas is a small stream raised above the ground with candy and fruit decorations lining it to hide the metal fondue heater that keeps the chocolate within the body of the stream warm and flowing. There are large bins of fruits like strawberries, bananas, rice krispy treat bites, and other fun things to dip in the chocolate river. It's very cute, and very chocolatey.

Paddle Boats
The large pond in the middle of the park has a number of paddle boat swans available for you and your partner to go through a tunnel of love, or simply enjoy the water and get some alone time away from the rest of the party for a good cuddle.

Live Entertainment: Eli Ayase and Nico Yazawa!
The live entertainment will be provided by celebrity idol Nico Yazawa and Eli Ayase tonight! Put your hands together for a special performance filled with their L-O-V-E for everyone! ♥ ♥ ♥ They've got a wonderful set prepared!

Feel free to enjoy the concert either by standing up close or putting down a blanket for you and your bae. Blankets are available for purchase if you forgot yours!

Fortune Telling
Love fortune telling, of course! Find out your romance's future from famed fortune teller Geneva Godiva! She won't give any truly negative fortunes of course, it's a positive occasion, so if your outlook is bleak she might try to phrase it more positively or offer advice to turn things toward the positive. Feel free to pick your own fortune- be it anything from "You might want to see a couples counselor to make it through a rough patch, darlings" or "I see triplets!" or just "Wowie, I can see clearly now- your rain is gone! Looking good for this next year, sweetie pies!" Enjoy and have fun, the accuracy of the reading is up to you, but she won't tell you that a relationship is going to sink at any point. She'll use crystal ball, tarot, whichever- but not seance or anything. It's happy lovey-dovey fortune telling!

End of the Night
The festival itself was timed with the arrival of Genessia's firefly season. The first night of fireflies rising coincides with Valentine's Day this year, so if you stay until the end of the festival, you'll be able to see the fields light up with little glowing bugs. It's a romantic sight, best seen with your partner.

[Anyone who wanders through the area full of games is certain to pass by the Super Ball Scooping section, which happens to be where Fran is currently wandering -- thanks to her own curiosity. As curious as she is however, she's more than content to watch as others attempt to scoop the balls out of the water pools. This is unacceptable to one stall runner who is currently trying their best to needle Fran into participating. For now, Fran is simply politely (but firmly) rejecting the offer.]

No, I do not wish so. [is her final answer, but the stall owner doesn't seem happy with that. Instead of taking her rejection they reach out and take her by the arm with the intention of guiding her to the pool's edge. They even put a paper net in her hand.

Fran, for all of her restraint, is extremely displeased and reacts accordingly. She jerks back quickly, dropping the net to the ground, and the motion she makes unfortunately has wide falling consequences. The stall owner trips and falls back, landing squarely in their own water pool, splashing water to the ground and causing several balls to spill to the floor. Fran simply stands there, folding her arms over her chest.]

Perhaps you would do best to take no for an answer, next time.

[for anyone nearby who witnessed the exchange she inclines her chin and tilts her head to the side slightly, almost inviting a response should they have something to say.]

Alas, witness how quickly Karma acts!

[Augustine chuckles once chaos erupts by the game stall across from him. He's been watching the exchange since the start, his gaze focused upon those large white rabbit ears upon the woman's head. The vampire had thought the woman to be some sort "mutant" based on her appearance alone but her aura paints a different story. Nevertheless, he steps into this silly scene with a vague smirk upon his face as he eyes stall owner with great amusement.]

Seems like someone forgot their manners. [He teases as he kneels down briefly to snatch up the paper net fell earlier.] All this trouble over a mere game.

[The vampire let's out a quiet chuckle before peering over at the peculiar woman with intrigue.]

[Fran takes a step back from the man as he swoops down to pick up the paper net, her posture still guarded. She cannot tell much about him from his appearance, though he seems to take enough amusement out of someone else's folly.]

I have seen plenty festivals in my time, not to mention pushy vendors. [she remarks, tossing a glance back towards the owner of the stand. Luckily, he seemed much more interested in saving face and saving his stand than bothering Fran any longer.]

Manners do not seem to be priority.

Then allow me to apologize on his behalf. [Augustine says with a hint sincerity in his tone.] Perhaps a few pink treats would appease you.

[It's a suggestion at best. He's not certain if this ethereal woman will accept but he's hoping. This festival been a complete snore so far. While he never truly cared for Saint Valentine's Day, Augustine wanted to a least give it a whorl.

Besides having company might be a good thing.]

What say you?

Why apologize for a thing you had naught to do with? [Fran asks, instead of answering his offer -- at first. It seemed unneeded for him to apologize, and yet he was asking for her company in the next breath.

She pauses, considering.]

I need not be appeased, but if it is company you seek... [she offers a shallow nod.]

Excellent! I had hoped you would agree.

[He let's out a giddy chuckle. It's everyday he gets to enjoy a festival like this. Let's just say that his world is quite gloomy most of the time.]

It would be improper not to introduce myself. I'm Augustine and you are?

[Augustine does his best not to stare at her large rabbit-like ears. They look so odd on her and yet, they seem to fit her just fine. The woman does have slight animalistic features but for the most part, she seems human.]

Fran. [She answers after some pause, weighing whether to identify herself or not. Thus far Augustine had proven to be trustworthy enough for at least that.]

I take it you have not seen a Viera before. [She's observant, and it had not gone beyond her notice that there was staring going on, subtle as it was. Normally she would not humor staring or questions, but this was not Ivalice, so of course many had not seen her kind before.

It made her feel a little more lenient on the subject. As long as her age does not come into play.]

Not at all. [He admits with a slight chuckle as he averts his gaze. Honestly, he didn't mean to stare but her ears are quite odd. They seem so stiff and rigid, almost like a costume accessory.] I've seen my fair share of people in the past but none quite like you.

[Those possessing animal traits are typically referred too as "Beastkin" but the terminology alone is slightly offensive to some. Augustine wisely decides to avoid using it in fear of offending dear Fran.

That would make a horrible first impression.]

When you arrive? I take it you're not native to this realm.

[Terra has been experiencing a rush of emotions since she began wandering through the festival grounds. Questions and disjointed answers flutter through her head like sand slipping between her fingers. It's only when she stops thinking about the memories that they come back freely, reminding Terra of what she's gotten.

What is love?

It isn't something so easily defined.

She's lost in these thoughts as the stall owner begins to guide Fran towards the pool of water, urging her to play. Terra doesn't see the entire exchange but watches just as the man breaks the surface of the pool. She blinks and turns her attention towards Fran.]

Excuse me. [Terra steps closer.] Do you mind if I ask why you don't wish to play?

[Fran probably does mind, but she's quick to hold her tongue, instead choosing to stare at Terra for a moment while she pieces together a reply.]

It is my choice, is it not? The freedom to choose whether I wish to participate in something or no.

[She was content to watch, afterall.]

Yes.

[Terra's head tilts to the side as her eyes glance over at the game. It looks cute but she has no interest in playing either.]

But why? You are welcome to chose but I'm curious as to why you don't want to play. [She isn't suggesting that Fran play the game but is curious as to the woman's reasoning. Terra isn't used to this sort of event and it makes her curious about it's games and the people who choose to play or not play them.]
