Festival of Amore - Dated 2/14

The whole park is decorated in the traditional colors of Valentine's Day, red, white, and various shades of pink. Hearts are the theme and though you won't be turned away, those without a partner to spend the evening with may get a few strange looks or start to feel rather lonely.
Festival Games
There are a number of activities to partake in, including festival games, the most popular of which seems to be the Super Ball Scooping, in which hundreds of balls float around in a pool of water, secretly marked with prizes- mostly goldfish, though there is one hidden that has a special romantic getaway to win! The challenge is that you must use a paper net, so the balls will often break as you try to get them into your bowl. Additionally, the balls are stirred up after each play of three scoops. Other traditional festival games like dart tossing, wack-a-mole, ring toss, and more. However, there is one challenge that you should be aware of for all games. You and your partner must do them together! This means two hands on the ring when you toss it! Hold the paper net steadily together! Good luck!
Food Stalls and the Chocolate Fondue Stream
There are a variety of foods from around the world available at the festival, most of which seem to have some kind of love-related theme to them. Spaghetti for two a la Lady and the Tramp, heart-shaped pizzas, pink french macarons, hearty waffles on a stick, romantic eggs in a basket, Shrimp skewers, and more.
Running through the inner circle of the food stall areas is a small stream raised above the ground with candy and fruit decorations lining it to hide the metal fondue heater that keeps the chocolate within the body of the stream warm and flowing. There are large bins of fruits like strawberries, bananas, rice krispy treat bites, and other fun things to dip in the chocolate river. It's very cute, and very chocolatey.
Paddle Boats
The large pond in the middle of the park has a number of paddle boat swans available for you and your partner to go through a tunnel of love, or simply enjoy the water and get some alone time away from the rest of the party for a good cuddle.
Live Entertainment: Eli Ayase and Nico Yazawa!
The live entertainment will be provided by celebrity idol Nico Yazawa and Eli Ayase tonight! Put your hands together for a special performance filled with their L-O-V-E for everyone! ♥ ♥ ♥ They've got a wonderful set prepared!
Feel free to enjoy the concert either by standing up close or putting down a blanket for you and your bae. Blankets are available for purchase if you forgot yours!
Fortune Telling
Love fortune telling, of course! Find out your romance's future from famed fortune teller Geneva Godiva! She won't give any truly negative fortunes of course, it's a positive occasion, so if your outlook is bleak she might try to phrase it more positively or offer advice to turn things toward the positive. Feel free to pick your own fortune- be it anything from "You might want to see a couples counselor to make it through a rough patch, darlings" or "I see triplets!" or just "Wowie, I can see clearly now- your rain is gone! Looking good for this next year, sweetie pies!" Enjoy and have fun, the accuracy of the reading is up to you, but she won't tell you that a relationship is going to sink at any point. She'll use crystal ball, tarot, whichever- but not seance or anything. It's happy lovey-dovey fortune telling!
End of the Night
The festival itself was timed with the arrival of Genessia's firefly season. The first night of fireflies rising coincides with Valentine's Day this year, so if you stay until the end of the festival, you'll be able to see the fields light up with little glowing bugs. It's a romantic sight, best seen with your partner.

"Hmm, I suppose so. When one has all the time in the world, they could practice all they like." Remilia regarded Satori with a little affection.
"Fancy trying one of these carnival games?"
no subject
"Certainly. I don't mind, so long as it's interesting." She flashes Remilia an amused little smile, if only to hide her true feelings. Which were still much the same, plus an added tinge of attraction. "With our powers combined, I'm sure they will hardly be a challenge."
Gods, that sounded so much better in her head. And yes, Satori would be flush with the colour of embarrassment once more. To the Hells with it, on with the games!
no subject
"Let's start with the darts game, shall we?" And Remi will begin to gently guide Satori there...
Sorry for slows!
Satori thought they did look like an odd couple. But why did she really care that much, other than her self-image as a self-professed loner? Age didn't matter to youkai, nor appearance. So it was really the thoughts and stares of others that concerned her.
Nevertheless, overthinking aside, she mutters... "Ah...So we - literally - have to do this together, don't we? I hope my aim's as steady as yours." Quietly, she reached for a dart, urging Remi to do the same. "Whenever you're ready. Let's try our best to aim for a perfect score...shall we?"
Between Satori's calm calculation and Remi's unflappable demeanour, cooler heads will prevail, won't they?
no subject
"That we do..." The vampire picked up on that cue, and reaches for the same dart... inevitably, her hand ends up brushing against Satori's. So soft...
Still alive! o/
Not that Satori minds this at all. The vampire's hand felt gentle to her, at least in this instance. Her soft hand ends up tensing a bit from being so close, but doesn't pull away, either. Instead, she presses her hand a bit closer, urging her to hold the dart with her. Those were the rules, after all, no getting around that.
"Remember, keep your mind clear as clear as you can in the moment before you throw. This will be far too easy. Whenever you're ready, let me know."
She sounded almost confident, her colour shifting to match, and she couldn't help but try and smile, regardless of how tense this was actually making her. Her third eye gazes nervously towards the dart in their combined hands while Satori's face seems practically in the zone.
"Show me what your confidence brings, Scarlet Devil."
no subject
She was also getting a bit distracted... but helps aim the dart as best she can after reminding herself to focus.
"Right." Her smile is confident. "I'm ready now." All together now...
no subject
"Keep your eyes on the target. Take a deep breath and stay in time. Think of it like a waltz." Odd analogy, but it fit to some extent. Keep in step and don't mess up. Her phrases were heralded by her third eye dilating a little to leave those phrases as very mild suggestions that might stand out in Remi's mind. That is, if she wasn't too focused, already.
Either way, she gently moves her hand backwards, the movement not really urgent. Calm and cool, though betrayed by a hint of her true feelings, much the same as they were earlier.
"...Three. Two. One..." Their aim was impeccable. Their poor target didn't stand a chance.
no subject
She didn't even need to mess with the odds. "Yes, we got it in the centre!"
no subject
She almost has a peal of genuine joy in her voice when she says "...Ah, perfect! That worked out much better than expected...!" And then, of course, her voice quiets down as she realizes she's made herself look very, very silly. I mean, it's not all that silly, but still. To Satori, being seen in public at all is enough to set off her secondhand embarrassment.
"...Would you...like to try again, or do something else? There's plenty to do..."
That's it, Satori. Distract from your obvious awkwardness.
no subject
Very cute... The smile Remi gives Satori is the kind usually reserved for Sakuya.
"Hmm, why not~?" She playfully nuzzles her date. "Let's see if we can get a bulls-eye again."
no subject
That smile, that closeness. She wanted it, but she was slightly afraid of it. Especially as that smile was personal. Highly personal.
Trying to stifle her embarrassment once again, she moves for a dart, taking Remi's hand along with hers.
"...Same as before. You know what to do, so I trust you."
Truth be told, her hand wasn't as stable as she liked. This excessive pile of emotions was throwing her off, ever so slightly. Yes, slightly, not a lot. Not at all a lot.
no subject
She should had know her teasing of Satori would end up backfiring in some way, and this is pretty much what happens. Satori's hand threw off the next throw, just a little, resulting in the thrown dart hitting a ways below the bulls-eye.
"Drat."
At least they didn't miss the dartboard?
no subject
She stumbles over her words. And the throw. She looks at the dartboard. Then back to Remi with a slight air of disappointment. And then, a quiet peal of embarrassment. Intense embarrassment, actually. Satori almost immediately turns away, concerned and incredibly out of sorts. Her third eye only reflects this discord in her mood, trembling a bit.
"...That...doesn't matter, it's fine. We just had a lucky break, it seems." Satori, quite clearly, wants to distance herself from her source of embarrassment, so she instead inquires...
"We can try something else, then, can't we? I've lost quite a bit of concentration, dealing with you..."
For some reason, that sounded both intensely passive-aggressive and oddly comforting at once. She didn't quite know what to make of her feelings at the moment, and as someone so focused with her emotions, the result really...confused her.
"You really meant that, didn't you? I can't say I was entirely prepared for a comment like that, this early."
no subject
"I did, you really are cute. I suppose I have been admiring you from afar..."
no subject
Despite her own foibles, she had to be honest with her. She'd have to let her shell down a bit more if this would go anywhere.
"...I'm glad you feel that way about me. I may not seem as receptive to this kind of thing as most but..." She takes a moment to re-think her words, trying not to twist herself away from what's going on. "So have I. In my own way, I've been keeping all of my eyes on you - forgive the play on words - for some time. I'm not sure why you care so much about me, but I suppose your confidence can offset my abysmal lack of trust."
"In other words-" she mumbles, her third eye gently pressing into Remilia's shoulder. "If you think I'm deserving of your affection beyond today, I welcome you to try your best."
That's as good an acceptance as Remi's going to get, and while it's soaked in briny cynicism, at least it wasn't a 'no'.
no subject
That reply was one that was easily understood, since she hung around a certain purple bookworm often enough back home. "I shall, Lady Satori." She gently takes Satori's hand, kissing the back of it.
no subject
She doesn't refuse the gesture, though. If anything, it thrills her a little to be so important to someone.
"You aren't able to hide anything from me, after all. If I can see so easily into your mind, it's as if I know you deeper than you know me." She lets her hand stay there for a moment before gently pulling it back. "With, perhaps, a little...distance between us." Reading someone's thoughts isn't the same as knowing and understanding them. She'd made that mistake so many times without realizing it. But the warmth of her affection kept her calm and focused. "As calm as you seem, you're practically overflowing with sickening sweetness for me. It's endearing...that emotion feels sour when anyone else displays it."
Her smile after that was rather genuine, one that might only be spied if one was clever enough to catch Satori in private. "Leave anything more serious aside, for now. I'd like to forget my solitude, and you should have some time to throw aside those airs you put on for others. That's why these 'dates' of ours are so enjoyable to me."
A pause, a sly little chuckle...
"...Ah, did my honesty make your poor heart tremble?"
no subject
The more mundane ways like that would be so much more effective than mind reading. Though she understands Satori can't turn off her power. "Ah, you have that effect on me..."
And now it's her turn to blush. "Y-you caught me off guard..."
no subject
But her other question requires a bit of clarification...
"In any case, you're only technically right. It's more by circumstances. Koishi and I wandered about the wilderness, foraging for food in the mountains and the like until we made a home in Old Hell alongside all the other exiles to the Underground. Chireiden was abandoned, most of it was in good condition when we arrived. But in listening to the animals and spirits still lingering - and the fear that the Oni and the like still have of the Satori Youkai, I've become something of a 'ruler' in name only. People below speak my name with wonder or fear, but I don't particularly care what they do or ask them to assist me unless things are grave enough to require it."
Satori sighs and clarifies further. "Essentially, I only became involved in anything if it directly affects me or my sister. You're the opposite, as far as I understand, wanting your name to be heard far and wide rather than whispered in the dark."
no subject
She was right there, Remilia was a girl who very much wanted attention from others, a clear contrast to Satori.
"Ah? You're right, I couldn't stand just... withdrawing. Maybe I felt like doing that occasionally long ago, but now? Never."
no subject
Satori shook her head a little, trying to smile back at her and keep the mood going... "Opposites attract. As much as people say such a thing is true, I'm starting to believe it. My sister is outgoing and eccentric. And you are a flagrant extrovert. And yet...deciding to come here with me...is significant in its own way."
"You don't need to read my mind to know how I feel, right now." Her third eye nuzzles into Remilia's arm as she moves closer, not minding her at all, but perhaps letting her guard down a bit further.
"...Despite my dislike of others' hearts and minds, this doesn't discount their value or lives. Life is precious, but to live a life as a dishonest person - to oneself and others - is a life wasted. You're different very, Remi."
