Hi everyone~! It's your favorite chef Alice here! Valentine's Day passed and I should've done something before because it looked like there were a lot of disasters.
[ She looks sympathetic, bordering on pitying. Not that she did anything for Valentine's Day but sob and lay on the floor, but no one else really needs to know that. ]
Well, better late than never and this will help out any recipients who still have to return their gifts when White Day rolls around. I'm going to teach you all how to make Chocolate Truffles! They're delicious, easy to make, and it's okay if they look like weird lumps because they're modeled after the mushroom so you don't have to be an artisan to come up with something that isn't embarrassing to look at.
[ She proceeds to explain how to make truffles! It's actually a very simple process. You bring the cream to a boil, but only just, then pour it over finely chopped chocolate and let it sit. Do not stir it or anything, just let it sit for a while to let the chocolate melt into the cream. Add any flavor, like alcohol or extracts like mint or espresso extract now. Nuts go in at this time too. If you do it at any other time, the chocolate will seize or you'll break it up. After about a minute or so, you can use a spatula to gently mix it together until it's a nice smooth ganache. Cover it up, stick it in the fridge for 30 minutes, then take it out and roll about a teaspoon sized amount into a ball with your hands, then roll them in whatever you want on the outside. Alice's demonstration shows candied crushed almonds, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder as three options but you can really do whatever you'd like. ]
This way you can make delicious chocolate treats without having to learn more complicated things like the crystallization points of fat cells within the chocolate or how to temper. It's simple chocolate for simple folks. Oh- and don't forget! A lot of people are really dense and will panic if you're not romantically interested but wanted to give chocolate to a friend, so make sure-
[ She zooms in on a row of five truffles, then with a piping bag writes "OBLIGATION" on top of it. ]
You label them for the friend zone. Byebye!

[Video]
[Not like Kay can eat them but he's thinking that perhaps Cassian might like them.]
What is the friend zone?
[Video]
[ But okay, buckle up buckaroo! This isn't science so this explanation is going to be a little scattered. ]
It's when you have someone you're close to but don't want to be with them romantically so you establish clear boundaries. If you put them in the "friend zone" it means you're performing an action that says "I see you only as a friend" without having to be mean to them or lose their friendship! Of course, every once in a while some people try to break out of the friend zone even though you clearly aren't interested and you have to smack them down, but if you set clean boundaries and they still won't listen then you tell them the only way they're getting out of the friend zone is to walk out the door!
[ Poor Kay was probably never prepared for such a determined answer from a girl whose experience with romance is watching movies from her favorite bean bag. And her even weirder parents. ]
[Video]
[To Kay, it not that it's hard to understand as much as it surprises him that there's a word to describe that.]
Oh, I think I get. It must be really awkward, though, to have people trying to get out of the zone. Can we put people in it for others' sake? For example, if someone is trying to flirt with your partner and you want them to stop.
[Video]
I mean, I think Ryo does it all the time. He scares a lot of creeps away. So maybe! I wouldn't know how to though.
[Video]
[Oh, so polite this one. Kay already likes her.]
Ryo? He's your boyfriend, perhaps?
Re: [Video]
[ Did she in fact find and take an orphan with her to another country? fucking maybe. Kay, she is polite and rude at the same time. You just haven't seen the reality yet. ]

[That sounds like a very important 'maybe'. And that's fine, kay can be pretty difficult himself. ]

[ Alice, he's not a dog stop this nonsense... ]
no subject
[One of those animals is NOT like the other, Kay, git.]

[ She refers to Cooking with Dog, of course. It's not exactly her style but she is ok with staring at a dog in the kitchen of a video. Alice doesn't seem to find anything wrong with K-2's list though. ]
Not feasible in a real kitchen outside of a home though, it'd be too much of a sanitation risk!

[It doesn't sound all that healthy to him and Kay can't even get sick.]
We try to keep out poekmon and pets out of the kitchen but some never listen. It drives my boyfriend a little crazy, since he's the one who cooks.

[There's sure a better way to explain Cassian's last job but eeeeehhh, Kay ain't got no time for that.]

[ She's also not sure why it matters that it's a gay bar that has nothing to do with food but whatever. ]
I am sorry about his everything
[It doesn't matter, Kay just always says is that way.]
Action
I don't know how many people here will use what you taught them. [Not a lot of people seemed to celebrate White Day. At least not here.]

[ maybe she can spark inspiration in someone!! She holds one of the truffles out for Ryo. ]
Besides, I wanted chocolate.

Looks really good. [but, curiosity speaks,] What's White Day?

video;
I see.
Thanks for the tip. I work at Cake Town, so maybe I could try...
[least he has easy access to all the right ingredients]
video;
[ See, Ryo!! At least one person is trying it!! ]

["try" being the keyword]
Re: video;

I'm Cloud. Thanks for the advice, Alice.

[ Give her a second. She likes to keep inspirational things on hand, so in a moment she comes back with this picture. ]
Anti-gravity cake! Of course, it's not actually gravity-defying, but it looks like it is, isn't it? I've already figured out how to do it, so I won't tell you, but you should always be on the look out for things that give you ideas to experiment with if you're working for a bakery or restaurant!
[ Look, she surprisingly wants to encourage Cake Town to become something good!! She wants competition please. ]

video;
[ A pause. ] It'll cost you a lot more if you want me to make them for you, you know. [ She's a celebrity chef after all!! ]
video;
[BUT!] Don'tcha have a discount or somethin'?
video;
[ no bffd for you yet. ]
video;
[WTF REMEMBER IT!!]
Re: video;
Hmm... well, you still aren't my friend, Sakamoto, so you're going to have to work on that aren't you? Pretty tricky since I know you only want me for my discounts...
