PSA from the Attleton office - text

[ Oh look Genessia, it's another one of these PSA's from the Attleton Guardian's office, sent over the network and read by Attleton's local radio and TV stations. ]

1. We are aware of the problem of ducks regularly causing traffic jams on Main Street. We are taking it seriously. Nevertheless, I have to ask Attleton's animal lovers to stop calling us with alarmist reports of "There are innocents about to be murdered by death machines right here on Main Street!"

2. Please stop filing charges against the wild Spearows that were stealing food in Attleton during the annual pokemon visit. We issued a bounty on them and the ones who weren't apprehended are long gone. No, we can't bring them back so Judge Judith can put them on trial on court TV.

3. If they wish, Deputies will be given the opportunity to attend classes in Criminal Justice at Attleton University as workload permits.

4. The Attleton Guardian's office is looking to fill a Deputy position.

- Volunteer position: unpaid
- Full-time (with allowances made in scheduling for a second paid job)
- Combat skills necessary, preferably capable fighter even without using magic or supernatural powers
- Experience in law enforcement, military or similar preferred
- Out-of-town candidates welcome but must be willing to move to Attleton
- Must be capable of following orders and working in a team, including work with pokemon
- Not afraid of ducks

[Radec doesn't move a muscle but still is holding his arms behind his back.]

Reason why I asked that is at home, somebody from the opposite faction usually wanted to hurt a specific Helghan, is all. Can't help but be guarded sometimes.

[Radec nods]

Ah, I see. I came from the 24th century of Alpha Sentai. There are two neighboring planets nearby. The enemy's planet named Vekta and our planet named Helghan.

[ Cassian tilts his head slightly in acknowledge. ]

I see. There's nothing wrong with being cautious what information you share.

[ He doesn't like to talk too much about himself, either, it's just his job to get others to talk. ]

That's interesting. I'm from Fest, an urbanized ice world. But it's been many years since I was home, duty kept me away. You said you have run an academy as well as being a soldier. What are you specialized on?

[helghasten]

[Radec nods]

"Fest? Fascinating. I like to learn about other planets outside my own at times, not very often I run into another galaxy type here in genessia, unless I look hard. What were cities like on your planet of Fest."

"I know what you mean, I never had time to personally do many personal things. I specialized in training fighting and tactics. Personally, that is why I have a short fuse at times. I usually expected things to be done right the first time.

There's been an influx of people from my galaxy ever since December, you should have a better chance to meet other space-faring people now. Although most of them come from decades in the past or the future, from my point in time.

[ He gives a wry little almost-grin. No patience for mistakes sure sounds like Winter. ]

I won't lie to you, if you get the job you'll have to learn patience. This job requires patience more than anything else. You'd be dealing with a lot of people who are trying their hardest to make you snap.

[helghasten]

[Radec looked up, pushing a brief button as his mask opens to show his real face. ]

"I can adjust." The Helghast Colonel nods, adjusting to appear calm.

[ Cassian's facial expression relaxes, not quite a smile but close, and he nods in approval. ]

Thank you. I have found people are a lot more receptive when you show them your face. It makes you more human in their eyes... or whatever your species may be. Speaking of other species, do you have experience working with them or magic users?

[helghasten]

[Radec is still calm but nods]

"Other species? Here, I've meet a lot more other species over time. But I can make things work out if necessary, Cassian."

That's alright, a willingness to learn and cooperate is all I ask for. I come from an organization which has dozens of different species on every base but I understand not everyone comes from a place like that. Attleton is mostly human but I'm trying to ensure it's welcoming to everyone who wishes to make their home here. But in everyday life you'll be working mostly with the native human population. [ He snorts. ] They take getting used to for soldiers but it can be done.

[Radec looks up again]

I can make it work.
