PSA from the Attleton office - text

[ Oh look Genessia, it's another one of these PSA's from the Attleton Guardian's office, sent over the network and read by Attleton's local radio and TV stations. ]

1. We are aware of the problem of ducks regularly causing traffic jams on Main Street. We are taking it seriously. Nevertheless, I have to ask Attleton's animal lovers to stop calling us with alarmist reports of "There are innocents about to be murdered by death machines right here on Main Street!"

2. Please stop filing charges against the wild Spearows that were stealing food in Attleton during the annual pokemon visit. We issued a bounty on them and the ones who weren't apprehended are long gone. No, we can't bring them back so Judge Judith can put them on trial on court TV.

3. If they wish, Deputies will be given the opportunity to attend classes in Criminal Justice at Attleton University as workload permits.

4. The Attleton Guardian's office is looking to fill a Deputy position.

- Volunteer position: unpaid
- Full-time (with allowances made in scheduling for a second paid job)
- Combat skills necessary, preferably capable fighter even without using magic or supernatural powers
- Experience in law enforcement, military or similar preferred
- Out-of-town candidates welcome but must be willing to move to Attleton
- Must be capable of following orders and working in a team, including work with pokemon
- Not afraid of ducks

That I can't help with. My kubrow might've been some help in that regard, but I've not had access to my orbiter since showing up here.

[A brief sigh.] I hope Ashe is alright...

[He sighs and runs a hand through his hair.]

I hope for Ashe's sake you're right. Ashe is one of my Kubrow, but because of their rather... unstable nature, if genetic stabilizers aren't applied on a regular basis... well. Let's leave it at it's not pretty.

[There's a moment as the Tenno navigates a system of menus projecting from his palm before he settles on a picture of a large stocky Sahasa Kubrow to show to the screen.]

Kubrow were the product of Orokin genetic designers. They served as pets and companions, and later as guards and attackers for their Orokin masters. After their Empire fell, the surviving Kubrow on Earth became feral with only the most ferocious surviving.

...But thankfully the Tenno have recovered the technology to restore the Kubrow back to their more intelligent and amicable selves. The only problem is that the process leaves them genetically unstable and require constant maintenance to keep healthy. Ashe is one of my Kubrow, Iggy will be fine so long as he's in stasis.

There are more... permanent solutions. Just none any Tenno use if at all possible. We can consign our Kubrow to the care of the Lotus. She has a relay hidden from all - even us - where she takes in elderly Kubrow or Kubrow that a Tenno doesn't have the means to care for anymore and gives them a comfortable life. There, all the needs of a Kubrow are looked after automatically. We just aren't allowed to see them once consigned.

Unfortunately, that is the best option available to them.

Kubrow and Kavats are... by and large the only family we Tenno have. You see... we've slept for thousands upon thousands of years. When we awoke, there was nothing left of the worlds we knew or grew up in, no family survived, and most of our time is spent knee deep in the blood of tyrants.

They are more than just hunting companions. They are our only real comfort.

[He nods casually.]

Yes, the Origin System is caught in a war between two massive empires. The Grineer - a former clone slave race - subjugate and murder anyone that isn't them. They have loyalty written into their very genetics, which translates into extreme xenophobia now that they are no longer slave builders.

And then there's the Corpus. The remains of scattered merchant guilds united under a banner of profit for profit's sake. They worship profit quite literally, and have the trade routes of the system in a stranglehold.

There are very few that are unaligned with either, and they suffer injustices on a daily basis and live under constant threat of violence if they don't fall in line if someone claiming to be an operative of one of the empires comes calling. That's where the Tenno come in. We fight both factions back to carve a place out for the free peoples of the system.
