Bounty hunting + vigilante PSA from Attleton - text
[ What is this, a second message from the Attleton Guardian's office within a week? Once again it's published on the network, as well as being read on the radio and local TV. ]
Due to recent circumstances, the Attleton Guardian's office reminds you:
Capital punishment and torture are outlawed in Attleton, this is not to be circumvented through the bounty system.
Bounties are to be delivered alive only, unharmed beyond injuries incurred resisting arrest. If the bounty is killed in self-defense it is the hunter's responsibility to prove it beyond reasonable doubt.
Both bounty hunters and vigilantes will be held to Attleton laws. All acts of apprehending suspects are to be done with minimal damage to yourself, the suspect and property.
Suspects must be brought to the Guardian's office. Any attempt to exact personal punishment will be treated as a crime.
If attempts are made to circumvent the laws by bringing in bounties barely alive, be aware it will lead to further tightening of the regulations.
OOC: Basically this means Attleton will be copying Nova re. ingame consequences, though there is no bounty license system.
If Cassian responds to comments on this at all it is likely to be curt, but characters are welcome to use this post to talk among themselves.

Re: voice; locked
[ Only that this time the dangers aren't ones he's been trained all his life to fight and that's the most stressful part. So many of these dangers are things he isn't equipped to handle at all, the best he can do being to know whom to call for help. All that networking is finally paying off but that's cold comfort, really. ]
I'm holding up well enough. Surprisingly I haven't got a mob after me yet but I fully expect a backlash.

[ It's a joke, at least. She fully expects at some point someone is going to have an issue with it, but it's probably a lot easier to push something like that through when you're not the first one doing it and there's a clear causal incident rather than tiny build-up incidences. ]
I'd like to have a meeting in two weeks, if that's alright with you. [ Two weeks will give her time to get his deputies on board with covering him, give her time to get reservations, and make sure that he doesn't feel too unnerved about leaving too immediately after something that could cause potential backlash. But Cassian absolutely needs a break and Weiss, as someone who pushes herself until she gets forcibly put into breaks, is at least able to recognize that. ]
Re: voice; locked
Quite likely to be easier when it's been done before, indeed. The people most likely to take vocal offense are the ones who he expects to take vocal offense at everything he does anyway, so that's a zero sum game there. ]
In two weeks? Fine, that's alright with me, if you'd like to schedule it then.
[ Poor innocent him, so naive, so clueless of any plans of being spirited away from the workplace. He just figures she needs more time to prepare whatever speech she's going to give him. ]

[ She sounds like she might be reading through a calendar. Look, she's got shit to do too. ]
Does Friday sound acceptable?
[ Except she already picked Friday before this conversation but it's gotta sound LEGIT!! Or she can't ambush him. But this way it is the weekend and he can chill for at least a weekend. She'll even give him the first half of the day and they can travel the second half. ]
Re: voice; locked
Of course. Friday's fine with me. I've got a couple of appointments scheduled but I can have Stardust reschedule them easily, free the day for our talk. How much time do you need?

[ And then she is going to clear his schedule completely behind his back! SURPRISE. Though she'll probably reschedule considering what ended up happening with the eggs. The time to divert workaholics is not when the work is most needed, it's when it's okay to go and they're still trying to do All The Work. Otherwise you just end up with a high-strung workaholic. ]
