Bounty hunting + vigilante PSA from Attleton - text
[ What is this, a second message from the Attleton Guardian's office within a week? Once again it's published on the network, as well as being read on the radio and local TV. ]
Due to recent circumstances, the Attleton Guardian's office reminds you:
Capital punishment and torture are outlawed in Attleton, this is not to be circumvented through the bounty system.
Bounties are to be delivered alive only, unharmed beyond injuries incurred resisting arrest. If the bounty is killed in self-defense it is the hunter's responsibility to prove it beyond reasonable doubt.
Both bounty hunters and vigilantes will be held to Attleton laws. All acts of apprehending suspects are to be done with minimal damage to yourself, the suspect and property.
Suspects must be brought to the Guardian's office. Any attempt to exact personal punishment will be treated as a crime.
If attempts are made to circumvent the laws by bringing in bounties barely alive, be aware it will lead to further tightening of the regulations.
OOC: Basically this means Attleton will be copying Nova re. ingame consequences, though there is no bounty license system.
If Cassian responds to comments on this at all it is likely to be curt, but characters are welcome to use this post to talk among themselves.

Yeah well if the Gangler that killed my best friend shows up, I can't make any promises.
[She's not expecting him to show up but just putting that out there on the extremely remote chance that he does.]

[ And it had been a harsh lesson to learn, to let Imperials walk the streets of his town. ]
Re: private video [Sorry she's cranky right now lol]
[For the most part at any rate, she's not telling you she was a thief back home]

I suppose that sounds fair enough but certain types of criminals shouldn't be allowed to walk freely with their limbs intact. [He's definitely referencing the kidnappers.]
However, I do respect Attleton's stance on this matter.
private text
Unless of course he expects to run afoul some bounty hunters or vigilantes himself?Either way, it's enough to warrant a better answer than what he would have given otherwise. ]
I'm not planning to let criminals walk free. Our bounties fall into two categories: petty crimes, like apple pie theft or vandalism, and serial murder. The former doesn't merit torture, maiming or death and the latter will see them locked up for life. Question is: can I lock them up and throw away the key or will I first be spending the city's money on hospital costs just because a vigilante was bored and too cheap to pay for cinema tickets like everyone else?
[ There's also the matter of laws and doing the right thing even when it's hard but he's not expecting that to impress Augustine. ]

[He's hoping he doesn't have to specify which one he's referring to, because even he isn't sure how to describe it...]

Yes. Trying to clarify my stance.

I remember when I was falsely accused of essentially holding Fayren hostage.
Now for a serious question; do you still have faith in my security dolls inside Attleton? I can remove them if not. Or I can upgrade them with a new capture tool I've been working on.

[ He considers for a moment. He's always been so cautious, every step of the way but the dangers they face don't mind his comfort level with magic. ]
I would not like to increase their number at this moment but I would appreciate a capture function. They would be standing guard for the most part, yet could be deployed if necessary.

She remembers when she first announced her rules and the stress that came with that- the people yelling at her because how dare they have to be held responsible for their own actions? How dare they have to prove they were in the right for killing someone because they were accused of doing something wrong, before even being tried? ]
I'll talk to Sun about making sure the Beacon Bounty Boards stay above board as well. How are you holding up?
Re: voice; locked
[ Only that this time the dangers aren't ones he's been trained all his life to fight and that's the most stressful part. So many of these dangers are things he isn't equipped to handle at all, the best he can do being to know whom to call for help. All that networking is finally paying off but that's cold comfort, really. ]
I'm holding up well enough. Surprisingly I haven't got a mob after me yet but I fully expect a backlash.

I'm just hoping no one shows up from when I was still lookin' over my shoulder all the time. Although as long as Jabba doesn't show up...or Vader...it won't be like they can do much.

[ And that, right here, is a lot more optimism than Cassian is actually feeling about their own galaxy's biggest dangers showing up (again.) ]
We have made powerful allies, many of which have magic.

[It's not exactly a direct response to what this message was about, but he felt like at least putting it out there. Some kinda shit must be going down to warrant this in the first place.]

Thank you, Mobius. It's good to know we can count on you when we need backup.
Stardust is back to being a terror in the office, by the way.

I mean it's almost like Grell was keeping the nightmares at bay, but no no, I'm sure it's all just that she's to blame for everything, eh.

You're welcome to voice your opinions and make everything about you but I have better things to do with my time, so goodbye, Marco.
[ And he's just short of hanging up. ]
[text]
Nevertheless I will limit myself to nonlethal danmaku should I take a bounty in Attleton as well as Nova City.
Re: [text]
Thank you, as long as you do there will be no problems and I'll be grateful for your bounty hunting services.
