[ Hera feels, for lack of a better term, detached from everything that's going on around her. It's not really her fault, given all she's been through lately. It might be for the best, though, because at least she's not panicking. No, in general she's feeling mostly numb. So she seemingly takes her arrival, and the infodump provided, in stride, and before she knows it, she's wandering the streets of this strange city that seems to be nowhere near Lothal or any other place she's familiar with in the galaxy.
She's stuck. Grounded. And people are staring at her like - like she's some kind of freak. Have none of them ever seen a Twi'lek before? ]
What are you looking at?
[ Her voice isn't defensive, it's mostly - dull. But there's an underlying hardness, as well. A certain amount of suspicion, like she doesn't trust anyone here.
Eventually, she finds her way to a series of shops and small cafes, and when she gets a whiff of something - baking bread or a pastry of some sort - she makes a nauseated face and turns away from the smell, her brow furrowing a little. There must be somewhere to sit down, right? Maybe she just needs to sit down. ]

I need the services of a medical doctor familiar with non-human biology. I'll come to you.

[Her face lights up instantly. It feels like forever since she’s seen him, even if it’s only been a year. She knows it’s for the best, but it doesn’t hurt to know they’ll be reunited eventually.]
I’m glad to hear that. We had to part ways when... you know. But you’re all a part of the Rebellion then? You, Rex, your partner and his apprentice? It’s weird to think it’s grown that much. But I guess uh a lot can happen in nearly twenty years.

[ Which is very true, and in a lot of ways it's what Hera dreamed of all those years ago when she started out, when "Fulcrum" first made contact with her and she began doing covert intelligence ops. ]
The Empire won't last forever.

[She gives Hera a small smile, realizing that all of this talk about home probably isn't the best idea.]
I'm sorry I'm not the Ahsoka you know, but I hope we can still work together here. There's no Empire here, so... no war either. It takes some getting used to, especially with all the time stuff.

I - hope we can work together here, too.
[ Even if she is a Jedi and thus, a constant, painful reminder of what Hera lost. ]
It is strange to think the Empire isn't here, though.

[Going from one war to another and then to... peace is difficult.]
Buuut there’s also really no point in doing that, or that’s what I’ve found at least. The other people from our galaxy, they’re either on our side or they only know of the Republic. And those ones are also on our side, except I guess Grievous? And I think Anakin mentioned Cad Bane was here, but I haven’t run into him.

[ Her earliest memories are of running messages for her father on Ryloth, toddling along cave tunnels, not aware of the import of what she carried, that she was facilitating a group of freedom fighters. She was training with a blaster by age six. By sixteen, she had her ship and she was ready to start fighting the Empire. ]
I know the name Grievous. Never heard of Cad Bane.

[And training to be a Jedi is probably different than most people's childhoods anyways.]
He's a bounty hunter. I haven't had any trouble with either of them, so I haven't paid them any mind. Although Grievous does think I'm trouble.

Thanks for letting me know.

But um, feel free to reach out to me if you have any other questions! Or if you just wanna talk, I don't know. Oooor if you need to know which places sell clothing and stuff that fit lekku.

Yeah, I suppose I'll probably need to find places like that. [ She touches her pilot's cap almost tentatively. ] I'll have to find some other head coverings.

It's a nice place? So, you know.

[ Frankly, Chopper would be both a help and a comfort to her. ]

It's silly, but back home I used to talk to myself like he was still around. But, uh, here I've got other people to talk to at least? And I'm not running from the Empire, which is always good.

[ Alone, in private, she talks to Kanan. Tells him the things she was always able to tell him, and him alone. She's sure if someone ever saw her doing it, they'd think she's crazy. Maybe she is, but she likes to think he can hear her. Or that the Force can hear her, or... something. ]
Not running from the Empire is good. For a change.
no subject
And it's a big change. So... yeah. Just keep in mind that you're not alone, okay? You... probably don't know them. In the future, I mean? Cause... well. Uh anyways, the people I live with are from our galaxy too. And I'm sure they'd be fine having you over for dinner some time or getting to know you too! Anakin actually fought in the Battle of Ryloth too. Well, so did Master Obi-Wan, but he's from before that so.
Sorry, this is too much all at once, right?

[ The man on Kanan's holocron. Kanan had told her about him, more than she'd learned as a girl from her father.
She tries for a small smile. ]
Thank you, Ahsoka.
