003 | Search and Rescue
Who: Hanzo Shimada & [OPEN]
Where: Outside of Fayren and then Favnir Ruins in Fayren
When: Afternoon moving towards evening
What: Hanzo was approached by a citizen of Genessia to save their child who has gone missing near the Ruins in Fayren. Hanzo needs money so he's taking the request, intending to do it alone. This is not how things go
Rating: E. No warnings right now, will update if needed.
[A]Preparation
[Hanzo isn't one to take something lightly, and while he's also not exactly someone to go out and rescue a stranger's child, he's been offered enough money to do it and finds that he can't keep his conscience clear knowing there was a child that was in trouble and he did nothing. So here he is, currently at what amounts to an adventurer's outfitting store, gathering a few essentials he figures he might need.
Since he currently has his bow and a full quiver of arrows on his back, he cuts an imposing looking silhouette, especially considering the dour expression seemingly permanently affixed to his facial features. As it stands now, Hanzo is pouring over different sorts of health snacks, and a first aid kit. Already set aside are a couple of blankets and perhaps a coat that is decidedly child sized.]
"Will there be anything else, sir?"
...No. This will do. [Hanzo pulls out money to pay—thankfully he'd been prepaid by the man hiring him—and turns to leave in one fluid motion, supplies tucked under one arm. At least unless he bumps into someone. If no one stops him to ask questions, he leaves in a quick fashion.]
[B] At the Ruins
[Damn. He should have thought of this when he'd taken up this request. Currently, Hanzo was in a bit of a pickle, ducked behind a large tree while several dire wolves approached. Beyond them was a very, very large stone golem, its eyes glowing in the dark that Hanzo had THOUGHT would offer him cover. It did not offer as much as he thought. Quickly pulling out a different arrow than before, Hanzo pulls the string back on his bow and lines up his shot. He fires, missing the wolves and golem entirely. Luckily, it seems that this is what he wanted to do, as the arrow begins to pulse rhythmically, offering a faint glow over any moving objects.
It makes the monsters a lot easier to see, even ones Hanzo had not noticed. What's more, is if anyone is paying attention is that in the far distance the shape of a small crumpled child can be made out through the darkness. Hanzo has a long way to go. Well, hanzo, and whomever happens to be with him. How they wound up with him isn't important now, but hopefully they can pull their weight.]
We must move. Try to keep up.

B
Crouched beside Hanzo, he nodded for a moment.]
Two hundred meters to target. Let's go.
no subject
Luckily, he makes the shot, leaving one less monster to run after the both of them in their wake.]
no subject
Luckily the Decade armor didn't make much noise at all, as he continued his run after Hanzo, watching their backs.]
no subject
Behind it, two more pairs of glowing eyes lit up the darkness. Hanzo's eyes widen as he curses under his breath, his own eyes scanning for the location of his companion. They're going to have to figure out another path. He only hope he catches the other man's eyes before it's too late.]

[Any pretext of stealth was probably over before Tsukasa gestured towards Hanzo who was still hidden, and he stepped out, card sliding into the belt already.]
Go, I'll keep them busy.
ATTACKRIDE: BLAST!
no subject
But he knew the choice he had to make. Tsukasa had already made that clear. Hanzo just had to trust that Tsukasa could handle himself. Without wasting much more time, Hanzo takes the opening offered, his quick, quiet feet padding through the ruins. He goes up and over more rubble, leaping to a tree and then down again to reach the cowering child half hidden by underbrush.
The coat from earlier comes in handy here as he pulls it from the pack at his waist and drapes it over the child. Once that's finished, he looks back to the battle unfolding in front of him, already readying his bow to help.]
no subject
He noticed Hanzo and gave him a curt nod, holding up another card and said,] Make your escape with the child, I'll finish off our guests.
B
[She'd made sure she'd transformed into her LupinYellow gear before they got anywhere near the ruins, and was currently creeping alongside Hanzo, making a soft noise when she spotted the wolves.]
Here we go.
[Tightening her grip on the sword in her hand, she waited until the nearest wolf got close enough for her to dart out and slash at it then take cover behind another tree.]
Re: B
Then he moves to join her, crouched behind rubble near the tree.]
Those monsters will be harder. My arrows will not pierce stone. [They might have to think of something a little more creative.]
B;
Still, here she is, pistol at the ready just in case as she had her staff on arm. What she didn't expect is to hear fighting in the distance. She went to approach cautiously, surprised to see a somewhat familiar face. Seeing the child though, she'll approach them as well, showing herself to Hanzo after shooting one of the wolves coming their way.]
If you can handle the enemies around us, I'll take care of the child. [She's here to help, Hanzo.]
no subject
When she talks, he nods, and in one movement he presses something on the arrow he's holding, causing the arrowhead to splay out and rotate. Once he pulls back the bowstring, it's a mere moment before the arrow is let loose to fly, landing on the ground and shattering outwards on impact.
Both wolves fall instantly. It give both Mercy and Hanzo the opportunity to move. Hanzo takes the lead there, wordlessly, but with a glance towards Angela meant to convey one thing
"Move now".]
no subject
Don't worry. We're here to help you. My name is Angela. Would you be willing to come with me somewhere safe?
[She would love to just scoop the child up and run, but that was one hell of a way to scare the poor thing more than they already were. At least the child seemed to timidly nod in agreement. Thankfully, Mercy had enough of a friendly aura to not be considered a threat. So with that, she went to pick them up in her arms carefully. She would have them ride on her back, piggy back style, but her wings needed room to operate.]
I'm sorry, I can't have you ride on my back, but hang tight okay?
[With that, the child nodded as she held them securely, but gently. Looking to Hanzo to see his next move, she knew she needed to get the child to safety.]
I'm going to take them to safety, I'll be back to help after I can get them somewhere secure.
[With that's she'll tap off the ground to hover before flying off the direction she came. Thankfully it had been relatively safe that way, but she was still weary of any enemies or hostile animals that would come after them. It didn't take terribly long, but she was more concerned with making sure the child was going to be okay if she left to come back to help that it took longer than she thought it would.
But soon enough after finding a safe place for them to stay, she returned, pistol in hand just in case. It looks like she ran into a few wolves along the way.]

He spares a glance in the healer's direction, the corners of his lips turning sharply into a frown. Of course she's injured. He refrains from repremanding her, or making a deal out of it -- for now at least. Mostly because he's still trying to land a shot on the last golem's weak point. With it defeated, they would be able to retreat largely freely, without risk to themselves.
When he releases the arrow it flies true towards its mark, cracking the gem in the golem's forehead and causing it to tumble forward, shattering on the ground on impact. ]
no subject
Are you okay? The child is safe. [What can she do to help really is the thing to take from this.]
no subject
I will be fine. [he pauses, thankful for that information.] If the child is safe then we should depart. I have no desire to remain engaged with these animals.
no subject
I agree. As long as the child is safe, than there's no further reason for us to be here. [She has no arguments there.]
[And a little bit later of silence...]
Thank you for trying to find the child. I had no idea you were here as well. You were able to get to them faster than me.
did u just boomerang me u nerdsandwich
I may have arrived first, but you were able to get him out of danger. Our strengths combined were the cause of our success.
[but they're going to start to leave right? Carefully winding through the ruins, avoiding dealing with more beasts.]
I did. What are you going to do about it B]
As long as he's okay, it doesn't matter who did what. I'm just glad I could help.
no subject
Regardless, I appreciate your company into the belly of the beast. [so to speak. But once they manage to get out of the ruins, he stops to resituate his bow on his back and to check for any other wounds. Luckily it seems that Angela's staff (and Angela herself) has already taken care of that for him.]
no subject
[She's not how to feel about him yet when he was the cause of Genji's wounds, but she doesn't want to solely hold that against him and only judge him by that.]
Are you sure you're okay? Now that we're out, I can check to see if there are any further wounds to heal up.
A
Where are you headed so quickly, Hanzo? If you don't mind my asking. [ Her eyes flash a bright blue. Lie detector is on. ]
no subject
I have been asked to assure the safe return of someone's child. [he frowns] They've been lost in the ruins out in Fayren.
no subject
No place for a child to be roaming alone. I will join you, should you require any aid.
no subject
...I would be foolish not to accept your offer. [Going alone was, quite possibly not a smart idea. Hanzo counts himself fortunate to have someone he can trust come along with him.]
no subject
You would indeed, my friend. [ She jests lightly, a hand on her sword. ] Have you everything required? If so, then lead the way.
no subject
The two of us will be able to cover our weaknesses. I have no doubt that we will return victorious.
no subject
Do we know what we are up against?
no subject
What research I was able to do tells me they will be formidable, but not impossible to defeat. [he is certain now, with Cordelia's help that they will be successful.]
no subject
Anything can be bested if one has a plan. I have faced far more formidable foes for certain. What does the child look like?
no subject
Have you faced these golems before? [Machinery, robots, etc Hanzo has a familiarity with, but golems are something that he's luckily never had to face before.]
