[It looks like Yang. But her hair is a mottled mess of splotchy puke green and clown orange.]
[She also looks mad as hell, if the little sparks flickering at the edges of her ridiculously ugly mane is any indication.]
You know what? All I wanted was one chocolate egg. Instead? I'm dealing with this.
[She points sharply at her hair, purple eyes flashing to red.]
So yeah, I'm not in the mood to put up with a lot of the usual stupidity this place cranks out right now! You need help? I've got your back. Give me a call, whether I'm on-duty in Nova or not.
But now is not a good time to go around being a public jerk, especially if it's on my turf. That's all the warning you're going to get.
[She snaps off the feed. ...Maybe someone should go toss her a chocolate egg. Tease about her hair at your own risk.]

Oh really? Couldn't tell.
[/sarcasm]

[She levies her finger at the screen, her tone still light and playful. She's not going to open the can of worms that's been stashed away for a while now; he's new. Doesn't know her. It'll pass.]
[
Or it won't, and little frustrations will continue to stockpile until she explodes again.]How are you settling in? Had a chance to look at jobs yet, or are you still exploring the place?

I haven't yet. Going to soon, but someone told me to look at this like a vacation and putting my feet up for a little bit didn't seem like the worst idea.

[The banter is kind of fun, though. She missed this kind of conversation.]
Still, good to hear that you can chill. This kind of stuff can be pretty overwhelming to some people. As long as you're not caught off guard when the end of the thirty days rolls around? Nothing wrong with hanging out.

It was good advice. And ... yeah, I'm gonna start working on figuring something out soon. Just enjoying the peace and quiet.

[She sets the communicator down on the desk, perching herself on the edge and casually folding her arms.]
Were you dealing with anything in particular, or did you wind up here between criminal-catching missions?

[An accurate one, but it seems to suit him just fine. The question of what in particular he might have been dealing with ... there's a little shift in his demeanor - a momentary falter in the easy smile that seems to be his default state of being - but he bounces back quickly enough.]
Between missions, but .... yeah, kind of a bunch of stuff going on. Nice to get a break.

[Yang's quiet for a moment, studying his face. So he's got some issues to deal with. Being new, he probably doesn't have anyone to talk to about it either. So should she offer, or would that seem nosy?]
[Well. Can't hurt to offer. If he doesn't want to talk about it, he'll let her know one way or another. She just needs to pay more attention.]
[Mind made up, she flicks the switch, making the video private.]
I don't have a leather couch for you to lie on, but we can pretend. What's up?

It's nothing. Just some team stuff. No big deal, just, y'know, a lot all at once.
[There's probably more to it, but ... lil much right now.]

[In-fighting can be a lot more stressful than taking down an enemy, she knows that much. She resolves to herself not to probe if he has another vague answer, but still, she doesn't want to seem like she just doesn't care either. He's a decent guy. He shouldn't be stressing himself if he doesn't have to.]

[At least he's assuming she might. Weirdass circumstances, but general idea is pretty relatable, he thinks.]

[She props her elbows up on her knees. She's had a few moments like that, yeah. It can be awkward. Nice. Alienating. It got better after a while, but...]
Yeah. I think I've played those roles at least once before. Which one are you? New guy, old friend, or both?

If I'm being totally honest ... little bit of both.

Has that been going on for a while, or is it just kind of a recent thing?

[He sighs.]
Please don't, like, get offended or anything this is just ... I'm still kinda figuring this stuff out, y'know?

[She shakes her head a little with a smile, as calm and relaxed as a girl can be.]
I'm trying to figure you out, is all. Some people need to talk out loud to sort out their problems. Some would rather be distracted, and hang out with good company until they feel better.
[Her wrist turns, metal palm opening with a light gesture.]
You're a good guy, Kon. And I don't like seeing my friends struggle with something that's hurting them. So if there's something I can do to help you get through this...whether it's listening, or playing video games, or getting something to eat, or punching out some criminal's lights...even if it's just to be there...
[Her hand falls back down as she shrugs.]
You don't have to deal with it on your own. Not if you don't want to.

[That's really, really sweet, is what it is.]
Thanks. [He smiles, easy and warm.] Seriously.
And for the record, you don't have to ride out the purple hair plague alone either. I'm down to do, y'know, whatever to help kill the time.

[Her expression falls flat before she casts a sour look at her ugly mottled hair. So much for her 'best hair' nomination. She's about to wave it off and say she's fine...]
[...but maybe this his his way of reaching out, if he feels like he's at least helping someone. So she considers thoughtfully.]
...I guess it wouldn't hurt to find a hat for the week.

Actually? That sounds pretty good. Come on over. I'll uh...
[She looks to the side. He can't see it, but she can see some of Gwen's clothes in the hallway.]
I'll just tidy up before you get here.

[He says with a chuckle.]
Any requests?

Kung pao chicken. As spicy as it gets. Extra peanuts.
[There's a little grin that's on the verge of seeming shy, but in truth, she's very grateful. It's nice of him to go the extra mile for her when he's the one that's having a really tough time.]
Thanks, Superkon.

[Not freaking likely.]
Anytime.
[Capped off with a wink. It's gonna hurt his wallet and it's very limited contents ... but worth it.]
