Action (Dracula's Castle)
[The dawn of the eighth day. Having been confined to the castle since his 'rescue', Soma had been using 'his' room, sleeping in 'his' bed, and growing gradually more fearful. What was that monster that looked like his father? How had it plucked him from his feet and thrown him from the room? Why had it acted as if he was somehow beneath its attention?

The first light of morning brought answers. It also brought memories, and wisdom, and pain, and the knowledge that virtually half his own life had been a lie. He had always been what he was now.

And that knowledge brought rage. Black, midnight rage. A roar very like that of Dracula himself echoes through the castle, and may even be heard throughout Everglade. Someone has awoken from a dream of happiness and potential, and he is most definitely not happy.]

[It's been a little while, and the initial wave of anger has passed. Soma looks... pretty damn awful, to be honest. Drained. Gray. Pale, even for him.]

Does anyone have advice for someone who's just learned that they've been lied to by the people closest to them for half their life? I could... really use some.

Angry is where I'm at right now. They took my memories of my family. Everything from then onward was one giant lie. No matter their intentions, no matter what they were trying to prevent, they stole my family from me. I was not given a choice.

[He takes a moment to calm himself, turning away from the camera.]

I know why they did it. It was the right thing. But that doesn't stop the pain.

My whole family and tribe were killed, I was made a prisoner of war and then they also took my children for me. I know how it feels when your loved ones are stolen from you, so I am sorry for your loss.

Anger is a process too. And it's hard not to let it consume it but acknowledging that you are angry is already a step. We all have our own way of healing, all in your own time, so no one here can give you a real answer about how to do it.

That's kind of the problem. I don't have a way to heal this. The process of grieving - even the memory that I should have been grieving - was taken from me. My parents were murdered because someone thought they might be a problem to them later on. And the person my parents trusted to take care of me... took my memories of them. Sealed them behind a wall I could never have broken on my own.

The darker emotions run deep in my family. It's... kind of a hereditary thing. We're a lot more susceptible to anger and despair than normal people. I don't have a coping mechanism for this.

It was done with a Shinto sealing spell. This week's past... event broke the seal, by knocking me back to before it was placed. I can still feel it trying to suppress what's been revealed, but the memories are mine now, and damned if I'm going to give them up again.
