First Punch - [video]
[The video starts... and it's clearly that the person using this device has no idea what to do with it because it's pointed away from it and you can see the bottom of his hand.]
You bastards, where the hell is Agumon?! I don't care that you brought me here, but if one of you doesn't tell me where my follower went, there'll be hell to pay!
[...]
Oh, by the way, I'm Masaru Daimon, the number one street fighter in Japan! Remember it!
[He lowers the phone, and starts walking. If you listen and watch long enough you can see him start asking random people about this "Agumon" character.]

Oh, by the way, I'm Masaru Daimon, the number one street fighter in Japan! Remember it!

[He rubbed the back of his head.]
Sorry if I was making like... people who don't fight Digimon head on are doing it wrong, or something. My friends Touma and Yoshino didn't either, even though Touma's, like, an olympic boxer or something. I've just always been a fighter, so... maybe that's what my "inner trait" is.
But you all have different traits, huh? I think I remember one'a you calling them "crests" way back when, I think?
We don't have the actual Crests any longer, but the power is still inside all of us.
Oniichan's is Courage. Yamato's is Friendship. Sora's is Love. Mimi's is Purity. Jou's is Sincerity. Koushiro's is Knowledge. Takeru's is Hope. And mine...is Light.
[The Guardians were a bit literal with her.]
Light, huh?! That sounds awesome! It must be like, really powerful or something, right? Like, when you think about light you think about god and angels and stuff. Courage sounds like it fits Yagami pretty well, too. He was a pretty brave kid.
[He pauses for a moment, as something comes to mind.]
I wonder what mine would be? You don't think there's a Crest of Fist, do you?
Qinglongmon did say when we freed him that the Crests of Hope and Light were different. That the Crest of Light was supposed to...bring Life to the Digital World, and that the Crest of Hope...
[She trailed off, and it would have been easy enough to assume she was simply attempting to recall the exact wording--which, to be fair, she was--were it not for one barely noticeable change in her expression: a slight pink to her cheeks. Because she did remember the Holy Dragon Digimon's words, but only now did they carry on a whole different meaning to her. Considering everything.]
...that it was meant to help the Light continue to shine.
[She had always just assumed he meant that Hope was what kept the Life in the Digital World bright. It was a reasonable interpretation.]
But...ah, I suppose the Crest of Fist could...work. [She certainly wasn't about to shoot down his idea if he actually liked it.] Or maybe Strength.
[Masaru looks downright satisfied with himself now.]
Crest of Strength! That sounds great! The kind of crest a real man should have! [And he's talking about Crests like he knows all about them or something.] Man, now I gotta know what Touma'd have. He is pretty smart, but he's also always fighting for his sister... can a guy have the Crest of Love? For that matter, is it only a one person thing? I know a bunch of other Chosen Children joined you guys, so-
[Wait a minute.]
Hey. You never mentioned that kid Daisuke or the others when you were talking before. Did they go somewhere?
[He's worrying they might not have been sent back after all that Quartzmon nonsense. If that old bastard with the Clockmon never sent them home, Masaru is read to track him down and beat their location out of him.]
...we don't know.
How... how long ago was it since you last saw them? It wasn't a couple years was it? Because I'm suddenly thinking the old guy with the Clockmon never sent them back.
No, it wasn’t that long ago.
But...it was long enough that...we should have noticed sooner.
[Well that's a relief. They made it home okay, at least. But if it wasn't him...]
Then your Yggdrasil must've done something to them.
[He says it with such certainty too.]
Maybe.
I don't know. Takeru and I tried going to Ken's house. And we tried calling them. There was no answer anywhere. If Yggdrasil really does have them...
[Then that still didn't answer how they would be able to get their friends back. If it was even still possible.]
Before we came here, we were a little busy trying to survive the Digital World.
[Hrm. He scrunched up his nose, trying to think.]
Yeah, I know how that is. Worrying about someone and not being able to go find them. That's how I felt when I first went to the Digital World, I wanted to find my dad, but there was a mission to go on...
They were just...something we needed to do.
But they were still things I felt like I had'to do. At first because I wanted to fight stronger opponents, then it was to find my dad... and then because it was something I wanted to fight for.
'Adventure' makes it sound like we were there to have fun. I mean...there were times when I suppose our trips were more of an Adventure. I was able to see some amazing things. And it's because of the Digital World that I met some of the most precious people in my life...
[Whether or not one of them ever remembered their earlier times together. Tailmon was still Tailmon. And perhaps...even happier, now that she no longer remembered the pain of growing up alone. The torture she suffered under Vamdemon. Watching her oldest friend die right in front of her.]
...and there are people from the government...I think...who are trying to help us now. But I still don't consider it much of a 'mission'. More like a...return.
[He gives her an uneasy smile.]
It sounds like the Digital World is really important to you, though.
[At his latter statement, she gave a soft smile. Hand rising to a place just above her heart. Where she could feel her ever-present Light shining softly within.]
I think...I've always felt a connection to it. Ever since I was little. Maybe...even before then.
I wonder if I'm sort of the same way. I was connected to it by my dad going there before I even knew what a Digimon was. It feels kind of like I was meant to go there, you know?
Sometimes, I do wonder if we were all meant to come here, to this World, too. Even though...I don't fell quite the same connection.
[No, really, what is it about hot-headed Agumon partners who just want to punch all their problems?
But mostly Yamato][video]
[If she could tell Homeostasis off, how hard could Destiny be? ...and what was this conversation even turning into?]
... You know, if this ever actually happens. And it probably won't.
[At least neither of them are Juri Katou. She and Destiny don't have a good relationship.]
I think that sounds like a fair agreement.
Not just with Destiny, but even here, in this world. If you ever need a little “diplomatic” help with things.
Yeah, I probably will at some point. The diplomatic stuff was always Yoshino's forte. Man, I really miss her and the others...
