I know it had been a couple weeks since the egg thing, but I ended up rather busy during that time, that I honestly didn't notice.
[Which was a little white lie that people who knew him well enough would easily figure out. But he wanted to pretend that he wasn't around, or that he didn't notice to those who didn't know him at all. It was best that way anyway.]
But that isn't what this whole thing is about. No, it seems as if I am having a bit of a situation with work. [He turned around to show off the kitchen of the Cat's Eye. There were ingredients everywhere, some open, some left in packaging. But never the less the workplace was as messy as anything really.]
I find myself having some creative block of a sort and I've not been happy with what I've been making as of late. I must admit I am not sure when this will end, but until then I am leaving all creative projects and ideas to whoever works for me. You'll be free to create something new for the menu.
[That was pretty much it, really. At least he thought for a moment before he remembered something.]
Ah! That's right... The date. In two weeks time, I'll have been here for four years. Time really does fly here, doesn't it? [He can't help but chuckle slightly.] I'm not doing anything on the day, but whenever it comes around I always spend some time to myself and think about everything I've been through and how it has changed me and if you knew me at the beginning will probably have noticed such changes. But those numbers are limited. [He paused for a moment.]
It makes me want to ask this question. For those who have been here for a time, have you noticed any changes in yourself? If so if it's for the better or not?
[With a small smile he switches off the feed. At least publicly. There is one person he kind of wanted to talk to about the child thing at least.]
Private to Weiss
I want to talk to you about something.
It's about the person you spoke to as a kid while you were a kid also. I feel like I can at least trust you with this information

Ehhhhhhh!
You've been here for four years?!

[He laughs slightly. It was an amusing thought for him really.]
Re: video.
[Not like he has a choice but still.]
Don't you miss your friends and family back home?
video.
[He paused for a moment.]
I mean you could try and break the barrier, but that has its own set of problems that it's just better to wait for the world to do it. [he smiled slightly.] As for if I miss people, I do. But so long as I know they are okay that's fine with me.

It seems the egg I had come across changed me from a very... let's just say a part of my life that wasn't the best.

[ Names a difficult subject for Weiss, largely because her own has caused so many problems for so many people. But she'll hear him out. She wants to. ]
I did get that impression. I'll listen, if you want to talk about it.

[He paused for a moment.]
The whole topic of family and closeness wasn't something I ever grew up with, to say the least. The only close person in my childhood was my twin brother. Everyone else hated my brother and I because we were simply born twins, which in my world was being called a Child of Misfortune.
[He looked away slightly.] It basically meant if bad things happened my brother and I would get the blame. [He looked back at the device once again.] Eventually, I ended up being locked at a bottom of a tower and my brother at the top. The logic behind this was simply so long as we were miserable the country would prosper. [He gave a small smile.] But that whole time did cause a lot of my issues later on in life. But I kind of don't want to go into detail because let's just say the details are not at all pretty and I rather spare you from that unless you ever became curious and felt like you could stomach it.
But I feel comfortable enough to at least tell you this much about the younger me and why I came off the way I did.

But it is good in you trying to change.

I don't really have anyone who I can miss from home anymore... But I remember it was really hard to get along without my sisters. Even when I realized I could survive without them, I didn't always want to.
no subject
But here I guess you can you form new bonds with people who you can miss, instead.

Otherwise, it's fine. It helps those develop their skills and if you ever open your own cafe gives you that experience as well since you make your own menu.

Thank you so much for hiring us, by the way! The cafe is so much fun. I never imagined I would get a job.

You're welcome. It's my way to help those who need work but don't know where to start. I mean it's not a bad start either really.

I needed to have my suits tailored.
My height doesn't stand out as much here as it did at home.
Video
Minus the stuff that happens now and again. But how did you stand out at home?
Video
In middle school I was already taller than the average adult. I also didn't talk much.
[ His laziness stood out the most, but he's rather oblivious.]

Boss-san...you can entrust this mission to me. Your Triple-C Connoisseur.
( shut up ren. how many different ways can you make curry?
on the other topic, he's a bit more serious. )
I'm not sure I want to be here long enough to start noticing changes...but if it ends up that way, I hope it's for the better. What about you, Boss-san? ( curious head tilt ) What changes do you mean? Were you a different sort of person when you first got here?
--> private video
[Or at least one particular item anyway.]
I was a completely different person than I was when I first arrived. Both being here and going to the Dream Docks helped, I like to think.

( his eyes round out with curiosity, because he can't imagine fai having been completely different than who he is now. was it change for the better, like he implied? it has to be, because fai seems very kind. but then that would mean he wasn't so before, wouldn't it? )
What kind of person were you...?
( if that's not too invasive...he doesn't usually pry like this. he also wants to ask what the dream docks are, but one thing at a time. )
You don't have to talk about it, if it's a weird subject. ( he won't be mad, everyone has things they'd rather leave in the past. )

But I am pretty sure I don't want to celebrate. It's not something I do in general.

Ah, okay. Then if you don't want to...
