public video / semi-private action
[public video]
[Despite that scary top icon, Uai is smiling for this public video segment. He's settled in his Fayren apartment with some empty notebooks, the plain white sheets being visible in the camera frame.]
Hello, everyone. I'm not interrupting your weekend, am I? My name is Uai. I'm used to traveling between worlds, but this is my first time being captured in one. I was hoping to hear more about the worlds all of you come from. I somehow doubt we're all even from the same multiverse, so it would be interesting to hear what is "normal" for you all. For myself, Attleton and Genessia are the closet I've come to 'home.' What about you?
[semi-private action / forests of Fayren]
(( OOC before I delve into this: This action prompt involves Uai being villainous. HOWEVER: Please do not treat this is a wide-area thing. If you want to get involved in attacking Uai's monsters, please PM me or hmu on plurk. I'm very friendly and open, but I don't want to be balancing 100 fight threads. Thanks so much~! ;v; ))
[Uai had scouted out the least populated area that he could. There's plenty of space between himself and the nearest town. While Uai can be shameless about his problematic magic, and is perfectly aware this will 99% fail, he doesn't want to be arrested or labeled a villain. Not when it isn't to his benefit.
He's set up a rock barrier around himself before he even starts casting magic. His last attempt to escape Genessia got him hurt. This time, he's changed his spell outline. Uai knows he won't escape, but he won't be satisfied until he's tried his hardest. As he expected, the spell backfires and he suffers a recoil. Uai stumbles back with a gash in his stomach. The physical damage isn't the worst of it.]
... Hm~! That's frustrating..!
[The barrier he had put around himself shatters. His 'blood' from the wounds forms into four other 'Uais.' Unfortunately, they don't keep human form. Instead, they take the forms of skeleton dragons: Decaying, gross af, and covered in shadowy gunk. ]

[The four take off to wreck minor havoc in the forest, while the original Uai sinks to his knees. Despite his efforts, his feelings of concern and panic regarding the unleashing of Glitches are quickly consumed by his anger and hatred for Genessia. With his soul tattered and split, Uai can't control his Glitched personality either.
He exhales calmly and smirks, watching his four Glitches take off.]
It's fine. Playing nice is getting me no where anyway.

Extra Prompt for Sertoria
He's also too broken to pass off as being 'totally normal.' Like some broken hologram, his human form keeps flickering and a shadow of his true dragon self keeps overlapping. He's also bleeding from multiple 'wounds' and if generally a wreck. While his anger and hatred aren't overwhelming, he keeps snapping rudely at civilians and generally acting like an asshole as he tries to walk home.
Eventually, Uai stumbles into an ally and slumps in a corner. He doesn't even know where he is. Somehow, he realizes that he's wandered into a different city... and he's being rude, irritable, and dizzy from weakness. Without anyone to ask for help, he resigns himself to sleeping outside for a while. At least until the bleeding stops, he figures. Surely he won't die from bleeding. That would be so dumb.]

Sertoria is not a person to back down from a promise, even if she may or may not personally know someone. She swore that she would be for him, and by God, she was. It matters not what expletives he might spout off at her person or what he might do in retaliation, but she's there in that alleyway with him, offering him a warm, gentle smile down at his form.
Somehow, someway... she knew that he was here and she's here waiting for him, ready to help him at a moment's notice.
Without speaking a single syllable, she kneels down to his level, not minding the cold ground below them. Her hand outstretches and a warm light envelops her hand, resting over his form to stitch together his wounds. They might not be physical, but they're visible to the angel herself for she's done this sort of thing in the past to those who sought spiritual healing. ]

He also sometimes dreams of his 'mother' and 'family.' When he senses Sertoria coming close, that's who he initially mistakens her for: His kind, warm mother. She's always there to bail him out, no matter the time or space.]
'kaasan? [The inky puddles of blood begin to fade when his wounds are closed, as that lost piece of him is re-absorbed. Even when he's mistaken her for his mother, he's irritable. The childish desperation turns to a growl.] Stay back. I don't need your damn pity.
no subject
[ Despite his venomous tone, Sertoria's voice is light. Her azure eyes are soft as she gazes upon his form, watching her own energy pour into mending his wounds. For now, she's allowed two of her bracelets to disappear for now so as to not completely limit her terrific abilities. ]
Rest, I will take care of you.
[ Like that, she gets back to work into pouring her own energy into him to repair his own soul. ]
Did you hurt anyone today?
no subject
They tore me apart like I was made of paper. Those damned mortals. H-How dare they... getting in my way...! [Uai is breathing heavily. The closer he is to healed, the more energy he has to hyperventilate and panic.] I need to finish them off! I'm not resting!
no subject
[ The angel does pick up on the fact that the more she does fix him up, the quicker he'll be to getting back in there and that's a possibility she wants to avoid. And yet, she wants to make this fair for everyone involved and also avoid him getting into even further trouble.
Oh, as much as she loathed to return back to her, there might not be any choice left...
In an instant, the air around them seems to have lowered a bit, her soft sky blue eyes hardening to those akin to glaciers and for now, her expression rather devoid of anything resembling the warmhearted angel known as Sertoria. ]
I cannot allow you to do that. If you go back and finish what you started, you will only cause more harm than good and cause more trouble for yourself. Your odds are good at the moment. Leave them that way. If necessary, I will use force to get you to comply. I do not want to see you get yourself hurt or worse, killed, because of carelessness that is easily avoidable if you just think.
[ She hopes that's enough to get him to calm down and think rationally about this for once. ]
no subject
Though his logical reasoning thinks of Azura, his warped state wraps around the idea of his Fate. Uai laughs dry at first,] Then they should kill me——
[Then shuts up, cuz what just happened to her? He flinches at the change. Again, he tries to board the crazy train... but the crazy train is now cautiously following the speed limit.]
... That’s not true. Once they know what I truly am, they’ll kill me. It doesn’t matter if I behave, so I fu— [Remember the speeeeeed limit. Sertoria is kind of scary right nowww.] ... I frickin’ won’t.
no subject
She is different from her and that's what she needs to remind herself in this exchange with Uai. ]
All right, then. You leave me no choice.
[ In one swift motion, he'll find himself in the angel's arms and out of the alleyway. Sure, she can feel his glitch powers against her holy form, threatening to cut her skin open with razor sharp blades, but for now, she can prevent that from happening. ]
Behave yourself. I would hate to have to punish you for acting like such a petulant child.
no subject
??????
He even holds onto her, at first so startled and frightened that he thinks she might be about to chuck him into a garbage pile. When that doesn’t happen, he’s still tense. Gonna throw him off a cliff? A building? What is this??]
I am not a ch-child! You can’t tell me what to do! [Apparently that’s the most pressing concern here. Secondly, the fact that his cursed body can cause pain. ] Don’t touch me! I’ll hurt you! Au! [Back to clinging. Please don’t drop him. He doesn’t actually want to be hurt anymore.]
no subject
It's actually quite difficult to maintain her serious persona the more childish Uai acts. She wants to act baffled, she really does, but Sertoria can tell that she's got him right where she wants him to be and that's a good thing. The less troublesome he is, the less destruction he wants to wreak and the less people get hurt.
That's her ultimate goal here: to prevent the less strife as possible here.
And, as much as his cursed body pains her to keep close to her body, it's fine. He's safe, the cities are safe from his rampage; if she has to suffer because of it, it's okay. The angel needs to release a couple more limiters from her person, namely her long necklace and the beads woven into her hair to keep patching up her skin. It's also to prevent a trail of blood that could lead to where she's going with him. ]
For someone threatening to hurt me, you sure are quite clingy. Are you sure you really wish to hurt me?
[ Her tone's not that cold anymore, but not that warm. It's middling, as if she too is testing the waters with him in this state. She's unsure of how much she should revert back to herself, given how much of an impact her rather terrifying side has made already to get him to be compliant towards her. ]
no subject
Still! The reality of what she said touches a nerve! He hisses and growls instead of cursing at her. Uai even loosens his grip, nervously, and decides to pretend that never happened.]
Hmph! [Mature Aura -10000.] I don’t even need to lift a finger to hurt you. Your suffering just from touching me, aren’t you? I know it hurts!
[He sounds like he’s threatening her, but at his core Uai is worried. He knows he can’t afford to have all of a Genessia turn against him. Even the smartest and strongest of beings can’t fight an entire population of unknown but powerful beings.] I hate you..! Meddling bi—- person! Unhand me, or I’ll make you bleed! [What a scary Yorkie dog he is.]
no subject
Hate me all you want, but it will not change my opinion on you or make me care less about you, Uai. Furthermore, you are already making me bleed, so the only other option is to unhand you, but I have no intention of doing that.
[ A pause as she thinks on what to say next here. ]
Is it that hard for you to accept that there is someone that cares about you and your well-being here?
no subject
Bleed more. You know what I mean...!
[Uai shudders. Once from physical/spiritual pain, then from her words. It is hard to accept. It was so hard to even accept that Hana loved him unconditionally... In his current state, Uai is filled with bitter hatred at the thought of what he left behind. He wants to be thrown off a building or into the garbage now. He just doesn’t have the energy at the moment to inspire Sertoria. All he does is answer, with his self hatred and misery seeping into his voice.]
Yeah, it is! You didn’t even see me. You don’t know what I really am..! [A disgusting monster. Inside and out..] Anyone who cares about me is an idiot and not worth my time.
no subject
Then I suppose I am an idiot and perhaps not worth your time, going by that logic.
[ She's still going to help him regardless because she still cares about him, no matter what he may say otherwise. ]
Either way, I still care about you and nothing you say will change my opinion on the matter. I do not think of you as anything but someone who just needs help...and maybe even a friend.
[ God knows she did, otherwise she wouldn't be who she is today. ]
no subject
[Now that he's established that, Uai can spend some energy on realizing how humiliating it is to be carried around. Forget the fact he's hurting her: She's hurting whatever dignity he had left!
So he wiggles slightly, then remembers why she isn't letting him go... after grumbling curses to himself, he addresses Sertoria.]
... Okay, fine. I'll be "good." So put me down. Hold my braid if you need a leash, but stop touching me. [HUFF.] If I hurt you, it's going to be on purpose. This accidental hurting is annoying.
no subject
...Oh, ow. Okay, that hurts-- The pain helps to bring her back to reality, which she appreciates. Once again, she heals the wounds inflicted and due to how her robes are a part of her, too, they're now pristine as well. ]
Only if you promise that you will not run off.
[ She keeps an eye on him the entire time, setting him down on to his feet before her arms drop to her sides. The angel waits to see what his next move is -- will he run off or stay? ]
no subject
So he stays. Out of self preservation, more than anything. His hand drifts to his side, confirming with a touch that Sertoria truly did close that wound. It might take a few days for him to repair his split soul, but he is no longer leaking Glitches.
He turns his gaze back toward her... Then pulls his long braid over his shoulder and holds it up. Like he’s offering her his weird leash.]
Au? [She doesn’t really trust him to follow her, does she??? Doesn’t she realize how tempted he’s been to bolt?]
no subject
...Well, if this wasn't some irony if she ever saw it. It makes her uncomfortable to do this, thinking of a certain redheaded angel with quite the mouth back home. And yet, she didn't want to take her chances since she could see the potential he had if it was just cultivated the right way instead of just left to its' own devices.
Gently, her hand touches his braid and grasps it, gaze flickering over to him to make sure that she's not tugging too harshly lest she hurts him. She's still functioning at roughly fifty percent of her power, after all. ]
All right, move when I do. I will try to not hurt you.
[ Like that, she starts to walk again, expecting him to follow her when she does. ]
no subject
[He follows close to her side, since he's not eager to endanger the braid either. Sertoria may not realize it, but allowing anyone to touch his precious braid is a sign of real trust. It's his last souvenir of Hana. Braiding his hair was the only physical contact they could have near the end, and the purple ribbon that ties it off is the only gift he could take with him.
As he's following, Uai realizes he's trusting her with the braid... Which brings up a second though.]
Where are you taking me?
no subject
[ It's not too much farther from where they are, Sertoria knows that much. Her grip is still gentle on his braid, feeling that it's more than just a choice of hairstyle to him. Of course, since she's not the prying type, she'll let him explain the significance behind it later.
Once they're at the house, Sertoria opens the door and once inside, she allows her limiters to reform... which might have been a bad idea. She feels her strength fading away, rendering her at about five percent of her original power. With a shuddering sigh, she finally lets out a small groan, but still is all smiles, regardless of everything. ]
Welcome to my home. Can I get you anything to eat or drink?
no subject
[He chirps curiously, a sign that he's finally "himself" again. His mask of self control is fitted and he is filtering through his resentment. When they arrive at the house, Uai is taken aback by how normal it looks. It's nothing like the houses the Ascended Magicians make in their personal pocket universes: Those homes are huge and illogical mansions... But if Uai was allowed his own world and dream, it would have a house like this one. Something cozy that Hana and him could nestle in.
When her limiters are reapplied, Uai turns his head swiftly. He doesn't understand why she groaned, but he didn't miss it either.]
Ah... N-No. I'm not real, so I don't need those. [Food and drink are just luxuries to him. He isn't going to burden her with pointless things.] Why are you taking me to your home? I just split into a bunch of monsters and tried to kill people..?
[THIS ISN'T SAFE.]
no subject
Think of it this way, would you like to be here where you are safe or still on the run where others are trying to still kill you where you are bleeding out? I would prefer the former over the latter.
[ Besides, for once, she might actually be selfish enough to want to rest and eat? What kind of twilight zone did they end up stepping into?
She invites him to sit at the table, trying to convince herself that she doesn't need to eat. The angel has subsided so far on just rationing her energy thus far, who says that she needs to eat? ]
no subject
Cautious, he walks to the table. Uai has flipped his braid over his shoulder again and is running his fingers over the worn purple ribbon, trying to calm his nerves. This is fine. It's okay to take advantage of her. She's offering!!!
... And if he doesn't put forth all of his effort, he won't see Hana again. He reminds himself that it's okay to use people as stepping stones to get back to her.]
Thank you. You really... really don't have to. I would be getting what I deserve out there.
no subject
But, maybe that's okay.
Even though she's moved past her original purpose, maybe angels were still just puppets to be used. And perhaps that's her purpose here with Uai. ]
I have always been told I am a bit of a fool. You would not be the first to call me such. I just... I know what it is like to want someone to help you out and to not have someone at least try to do so.
[ She's speaking from entirely personal experience here. That is, until her father came to her aid when she was unhappy with what she was doing. ]
no subject
It's enough to get him to turn away, so she can't see his miserable expression. Uai takes a few shaky breaths as he steadies himself. He sees himself using Sertoria to get what he wants... He doesn't want to see that maybe he does the same to his Beloved. He just uses their love to justify how much he wants to live... but admitting he's the villain in this scenario is too much for his heart to bear.]
Being a fool just means you aren't doing what's the norm, s-so... Even if I call you a fool. That doesn't mean you're wrong. [He turns his body away from her now, still trying to avoid doing something mature like CRYING.] You've done enough. If I become a nuisance, please promise you'll kick me out.
