public video / semi-private action
[public video]
[Despite that scary top icon, Uai is smiling for this public video segment. He's settled in his Fayren apartment with some empty notebooks, the plain white sheets being visible in the camera frame.]
Hello, everyone. I'm not interrupting your weekend, am I? My name is Uai. I'm used to traveling between worlds, but this is my first time being captured in one. I was hoping to hear more about the worlds all of you come from. I somehow doubt we're all even from the same multiverse, so it would be interesting to hear what is "normal" for you all. For myself, Attleton and Genessia are the closet I've come to 'home.' What about you?
[semi-private action / forests of Fayren]
(( OOC before I delve into this: This action prompt involves Uai being villainous. HOWEVER: Please do not treat this is a wide-area thing. If you want to get involved in attacking Uai's monsters, please PM me or hmu on plurk. I'm very friendly and open, but I don't want to be balancing 100 fight threads. Thanks so much~! ;v; ))
[Uai had scouted out the least populated area that he could. There's plenty of space between himself and the nearest town. While Uai can be shameless about his problematic magic, and is perfectly aware this will 99% fail, he doesn't want to be arrested or labeled a villain. Not when it isn't to his benefit.
He's set up a rock barrier around himself before he even starts casting magic. His last attempt to escape Genessia got him hurt. This time, he's changed his spell outline. Uai knows he won't escape, but he won't be satisfied until he's tried his hardest. As he expected, the spell backfires and he suffers a recoil. Uai stumbles back with a gash in his stomach. The physical damage isn't the worst of it.]
... Hm~! That's frustrating..!
[The barrier he had put around himself shatters. His 'blood' from the wounds forms into four other 'Uais.' Unfortunately, they don't keep human form. Instead, they take the forms of skeleton dragons: Decaying, gross af, and covered in shadowy gunk. ]

[The four take off to wreck minor havoc in the forest, while the original Uai sinks to his knees. Despite his efforts, his feelings of concern and panic regarding the unleashing of Glitches are quickly consumed by his anger and hatred for Genessia. With his soul tattered and split, Uai can't control his Glitched personality either.
He exhales calmly and smirks, watching his four Glitches take off.]
It's fine. Playing nice is getting me no where anyway.

The skeleton seems to have been engaged in an exciting battle against a large rock, unaware of what is blocking its path: Just realizing something is in the way. And apparently having no peaceful solution for the problem.
When Qubine arrives, the Glitch ends its fight against nothing. Dark magic seeps out of the skeleton, perhaps reminiscent of the dragons Qubine knows, and slices the rock into pieces. The Glitch opens its empty mouth and 'roars' at Qubine. It cannot see or hear him, but it can sense him.]

[Unfortunately, Qubine can't sense souls like that. He can usually tell from their behavior whether or not they have a soul. And unfortunately, this thing seems to be behaving like a soulless beast, attacking anything that moves (or even things that don't move).]
[Even if the creature makes no sound, Qubine knows a roar when he sees one. If this beast wants a fight, then the dragon clan leader will be more than happy to give it one.]
So that's how it's going to be...
[He drew a large breath and let out a piercing roar of his own that echoed throughout the sky. Now that's how a beast is supposed to roar. Qubine bares his claws, plants all of his feet into the ground, lowering his stance slightly, waiting for the creature's first move.]

The skeleton immediately whips around with a spikey tail, trying to attack the 'invisible' threat that is Qubine. Uai is frustrated from the pain of his Glitch being hit, which gives the skeleton enough power to send a wave of sludgy dark magic at Qubine as it thrashes.]

[Regardless, it does serve to make him mad. He rushes at the beast again, this time collecting a large block of ice, hoping to slam into the thing.]
no subject
The ice block finally has a noticeable impact. When it slams into the skeleton, the ice clips his wings. The useless limb hits the ground and then vanishes into smoke, indicating that the monster isn't a physical being. It's a manifestation of magic, or in this case, a soul's magic.
Being somewhat lighter now, the Glitch behaves in a way that might indicate panic. Uai is screaming, but he's far enough away that it may not even be audible. His screams would just mix with the skeleton's gurgling roar anyway. The monster lashes out at Qubine with more magic. A moment later, one of its back legs shatters. The block of ice has left its entire body in a delicate state.]

[Qubine watches the wing fall off and then the back leg crumble. So the creature isn't something that was dead and reanimated after all. It was like back in October, when the undead dragon resembling Shayla turned out to be a doppelganger. At least this time the creature was unrecognizable to Qubine and thus gave him no internal conflicts about dealing with it.]
[Seeing that the creature is obviously weakening, Qubine gives a little triumphant smirk. There's only one thing left to do now - finish it off! Qubine concentrates on the ground beneath the beast, and once again lowers his stance to unleash another ice attack. This time a cluster of ice spikes shoot up fron the ground beneath the creature.]

Congrats on a victory!]

[Once the creature fully disintegrates, the ice spikes quickly melt, forming snow that blends neatly into the mountain terrain. Qubine stops to reflect on this battle and how easy it was, much to his relief. Of course, the battle against the undead dragons back home will not be so easy, as they are actually physical beings without souls. There's likely no way to stop them directly save for tearing them apart, or disintegrating them completely. And that isn't something that Qubine wants to do to any of his former clan members, least of all his sons. The best way to take them out would be to take out the source, which would be Erebus himself.]
[Satisfied with his victory, Qubine retreats into his cave.]
