[and then there's a Sylveon wearing a tiny tuxedo throwing herself at Kay smugly crowing Sylveon! Sylveon! Cassian appears a moment later, plucking her from Kay’s shoulder. If you look closely, you can see a matching wedding ring on Cassian’s hand, worn along with the gunmetal-grey ring made of Kay’s frame he’s been wearing since Christmas.]

That’s it, you’ve been wearing this tux since the wedding. Enough now. [For his troubles, he gets his cheek licked– slowly and slobbery and with great relish. He finally notices the phone in Kay’s hand.] If you’re going to announce it, you might as well tell them we’ll be unavailable for our honeymoon.

It's a weird...timeline issue. I have two years of memories of being at a military school that was in another universe than my home universe, kind of like how people here are from different worlds. But all the physical changes I went through are gone, like my body got rewound back in time. Except for the muscle memory from the combat techniques I learned there.

I don't know if that makes me fifteen years old or seventeen and it's bugging me.

I don't waste time with people who don't give their all.

[That has him frowning. It's more of a thoughtful frown, but there's also a sense of What The Fuck are you describing.]

You're mentally 17. Or you can settle for 16. Experience and memories are more important. Are you sure you're not just fucking crazy?

16 sounds like a good compromise. I worried about being crazy, but two of my friends from that school are here now and they remember me even though we're from different worlds. Like I said, it's weird.

Nope. And those two friends of mine were in another place in between our school and arriving here. So that's at least three multiversal nexus points. From a scientific perspective, that's amazing. From a "I just want to live my life in my own world" perspective, it sucks.

The only problem with that is that there are plenty of people where this is their home...and there's also people who come from crappy circumstances back home who get to have a chance at a better life here. I wouldn't want to screw things up for them.

...now, if you wanted to find the people responsible for making this place take people from their worlds at random and threaten to blow them up if they don't send home everyone who wants to be home? I'd be down for that. I'll even threaten to throw a car at them.
