1st Bite [Arrival! Action/Video]
[Action]
When Li woke up, the first thing she realized was that she was in tight quarters and the second thing was the sound of water. The combination of the two sent her into a brief panic, lashing out with her legs to kick open the pod with a violent burst as she scrambled out of the pod and on to the beach. She barely registered where she was before she was making her way to the cave entrance. Somehow, she'd managed to keep hold of the box and pamphlet she woke up with.
The sandy blonde woman didn't calm down until she had the water far behind her and the sky over head at the cave entrance and only then did she start to really consider where she was...and felt annoyed that someone had dared to relocate her in her sleep!
She wanted answers and thankfully there was a conveniently placed hologram to help... Anyone strolling by would find a slightly impatient new arrival that didn't seem all that happy with the information being provided. But, at least she was smart enough to put on the necklace?
[Sometime after her arrival and finding her lodgings...Li decided to try out her phone. It wasn't the first time she's had one. It's just the first time she hasn't stolen one off some pour soul.]
So, Let me get this straight. Some jackass pulled me from where I was yesterday and put me here with a bunch of other people and now I'm trapped. Fucking hell that sounds like the story of my life right now.
[Yeah, she's not thrilled in the slightest. Can anyone tell?]
So, despite what the white hologram princess said, I only have one question. Where does someone get a decent barbecue around here? I'm partial to pulled pork personally. It's the closest to what I'd normally eat.

[ Pause. Take a moment to appreciate that people are horrible everywhere in the multiverse. He pinches the bridge of his nose and shakes his nose, while absently noting the we she let slip. ]
Don't answer that, my universe has speciesism, too. But, no, nobody is going to hunt you for being [ a moment of hesitation ] aes sidhe. In none of the cities. Fayren is the natural home of magic users and magical species but it's quite safe in all cities. You're held to the same laws as all other species and enjoy the same protections.

...So, essentially, obey the laws and don't fuck up and you'll be treated like one of the humans with equal rights and everything.
[Yep, still skeptical.]
Excuse me for finding this hard to believe. My experience with humans has been... less than pleasant.

That's understandable.
[ Aaaand moving past that, since words will change nothing. ]
It's not so much you will be treated as equal to humans as long as you obey the laws, but that all face the consequences if they break the law. I'm not expecting you to believe me, a visit to Fayren or Everglade will do a lot more in that regard.

....Right. Got it.
Then I guess those places are going to be at the top of my list of places to visit while I'm figuring out this new hell hole.
[Well, maybe not so much of a hell hole if what he said was actually true.]

Yes. One of Fayren's Deputy Guardians is a dragon, if that helps reassure you. Everglade's team includes vampires.
no subject
...Actually, yeah. It does. On both accounts.
