1st Bite [Arrival! Action/Video]

When Li woke up, the first thing she realized was that she was in tight quarters and the second thing was the sound of water. The combination of the two sent her into a brief panic, lashing out with her legs to kick open the pod with a violent burst as she scrambled out of the pod and on to the beach. She barely registered where she was before she was making her way to the cave entrance. Somehow, she'd managed to keep hold of the box and pamphlet she woke up with.

The sandy blonde woman didn't calm down until she had the water far behind her and the sky over head at the cave entrance and only then did she start to really consider where she was...and felt annoyed that someone had dared to relocate her in her sleep!

She wanted answers and thankfully there was a conveniently placed hologram to help... Anyone strolling by would find a slightly impatient new arrival that didn't seem all that happy with the information being provided. But, at least she was smart enough to put on the necklace?

[Sometime after her arrival and finding her lodgings...Li decided to try out her phone. It wasn't the first time she's had one. It's just the first time she hasn't stolen one off some pour soul.]

So, Let me get this straight. Some jackass pulled me from where I was yesterday and put me here with a bunch of other people and now I'm trapped. Fucking hell that sounds like the story of my life right now.

[Yeah, she's not thrilled in the slightest. Can anyone tell?]

So, despite what the white hologram princess said, I only have one question. Where does someone get a decent barbecue around here? I'm partial to pulled pork personally. It's the closest to what I'd normally eat.

[By now, Li's settled into her lovely little 'new apartment' and looks mildly annoyed with staying in such a human structure.]

Attleton huh? Lovely. I'll just add that to the many places to explore once I figure my way around this new hell hole.

[Dove can see it on her face, and understands well. That started apartment had been... basic at best.]

It's a lot to take in. If you want a lunch buddy, I'd be happy to show you around. My schedule's clear for today.

[A miracle, but one she's more than happy with, given how the past few days have gone.]

[Li just paused to stare at the other woman and it wasn't hard to see she was a bit skeptical at the offer. But, then again.. what did she have to loose? Either the woman showed her around and was useful or she ate the woman for being annoying.

Either way, Li might get a meal. Maybe.]

Right, fine. It beats finding some of these food joints by myself. But, before I go prancing down to meet you, just who are you anyway.

[Well, this was going to be fun.

Dove raises a brow, but doesn't make her judgement just yet. It's this girl's first day here... it's worse than disorienting and while she personally had just been shocked... she might be able to understand anger as well.

She does laugh, however, at the question. Did she look threatening somehow?]

Fair enough. I'm Dove. I've only been here a few months, but I know my way around most places by now... [Except the Everglade, but she's not about to take a newbie there of all places.]

[Considering she doesn't have a very good track record with anything human looking? Yes. Better safe than sorry in most cases until she's able to determine whether the other person is friend or foe and if foe, just how edible they are.

Li wasn't exactly the most complicated of creatures, just... angry. ]

Dove huh. Glad to know the person leading me around at least knows where they're taking me.

[She pauses for a moment, debates and then huffs slightly.]

Li.

Eh... more or less. [Okay, so Dove definitely isn't an expert, but she's been around a few times at least! She can at least get them to the boardwalk.]

It's nice to meet you, Li. I know it probably sounds crazy, but Genessia isn't so bad. ....after the first few days. [And from the sound of it... this girl might have a lot to adjust to.]

Guessing you're at the Commons, right?

[Adjusting to might be an understatement. She's been.. surviving for a very long time. Roaming is more the term anyone could use really. She never tended to stay in one spot for very long and tended to perpetually be angry and starving considering she always had to be on the move to keep from being caught by humans.

Li had no illusions of what might happen to her if she were ever caught during one of her 'meals'. But, this female refused to be tamed or give in, so there she was. ]

....We'll see after the first few days on whether I change my mind or not.

[Faint nod.]

Yeah, it was the easiest place to find.

[Dove can already tell this girl is going to be a handful, and while the timing isn't perfect, she can't imagine it ever is for someone being dragged into an unknown world.

In any case, she'll be keeping her warm welcome smile and trying to make it as easy as possible for Li. One can only hope for the best, right?]

I'll meet you there, just outside. I'm not terribly far.

[Just a few blocks away, it seems, because she shows up rather quickly for a girl in heels, though... she's definitely going to be keeping her wings hidden until she's able to make a proper assessment of this newcomer.]

[Handful might be an understatement. Li was in front of the commons, pacing in the grass as she waited. Even if it hadn't been a long wait, Li was just not fond of being inside. So, Dove would get to meet a woman who despite looking human was definitely not one.

Just the way she moved gave off something slightly more equine and anger seemed to be her perpetual state of being. Which would explain her attitude at least.

The moment Li spotted the woman in heels approach she paused and gave her a strange look and seemed to become slightly more.. cautious. ]

Dove?

[Whoa

She hangs back a moment, startled by the rush of animal like aura. Thats... That's different. The anger, too, is shocking. Dove isn't sure whether or not her Light is going to help or harm in this case, but... even apprehensive, she'll continue her cautious approach until she's a comfortable distance to the girl.]

Hey! [Enjoy the bright smile and the indescribable warmness that seems to radiate from her.... or don't. The angel's just going to silently try to place the entirely foreign feeling she's picking up.]

[The closer she got, the more on edge Li got for the moment as something very not human and very strange pinged her instincts. It wasn't a bad strange, it was just.. an unexpected strange that Li's never encountered before.

She snorted faintly and tried to quell the urge to like her on instinct which in turn had her wanting to attack. Li's experience with things like that were almost..not always great.]

Hi.

[Theres a pause while Dove tries to determine her next move. Would it... be better to show her wings? She's run into a being or two that isn't fond of humans, but releasing that much more Light might not be such a good idea either...

Better to go with her original plan. She had promised pulled pork afterall.]

So... dinner?

[Li paced a little more, trying to making up her mind before finally forcing herself to settle down with the offer of food winning her over for now as she reluctantly moved towards Dove again.

The closer she got, the more equine she probably felt and her anger was always below the surface, even when she was calmer or cautious.]

Yeah, dinner. I could really use some right now.

[That simmer of frustration pouring from the other woman will keep her on edge, but she'll hide it with a smile, nodding her head in the direction they'll be going.]

It's not too far from here, but it is in another city, technically...

[She really was trying to stay calmer, honest. Li just found it difficult when put into situations like this. But, food was keeping her civil. For now anyway.]

Just how many cities are there and what the hell is so different about them?

[She laughs and tosses her hair back out of her face.]

There are five, and they're all connected through Genessia City. I stayed here in Genessia, [she shrugs, pointing back the way she came,] just because I liked being so central to everything, but I work in Nova City. It's... kind of future-esque. Like... flying cars and robots and that sort of thing. It's really chic, though, if you're looking for something high fashion.

[High End is her line of work, afterall, so she's adapted fairly well, even though the flying cars still freak her out a bit.]

Fayren is really nice... almost like something you'd see in the middle ages almost, but maybe not that far behind. Huge forests and a gorgeous beach. It's sort of like a fairytale village come to life, so far as atmosphere. The mountains are magnificent. [She's really fond of Fayren, though she's a little too used to modern surroundings to leap at the opportunity to move there.] The hot springs there are great too.

[She has to think on the other two for a moment, but remembers fairly quickly.] Attleton is actually where we're headed. There's a boardwalk with a few restaurants and things, but the whole town is pretty... suburban? I guess. I'm not really sure what it's like for you back home, but where I'm from, it would be like... too normal. [She laughs, and gives a little shrug.] Family Friendly might sum it up a little better.

And... to be honest, I don't know much about Everglade. I don't really go there often, and the few times I've been have been... unsettling. I don't think it's the safest area...

[She sneered hearing just how much technology was in Nova. It definitely was NOT the city for her. Too much human influence and not enough...nature. That, and Li really had no interest in fashion. Why would she?

Fayren..sounded perfect and almost made her want to rush off to it right away. But, hearing how much water was there? It made Li tense and perhaps stamp her foot against the ground without realizing what she was doing. As perfect as it sounded, her curse would make it hell.

Attleton she wasn't so sure about, but, if they were headed there she could judge for herself.

As for Everglade? Someplace unsettling and darker in nature might work better for a creature like her...]

Sounds like this place caters to all types. Fine, after Attleton, lets check out the others... except Nova City. Fuck that bullshit.

[Dove takes silent note of the hints of emotion underlying the seemingly perpetual anger, glancing at her from the corner of her eye at the curiosity in Everglade. Hm.

She can hold her own, and has against people much more different than herself, should anything get hairy, but her curiosity is doubling quickly. This girl isn't human, that much is obvious, but how to find out...

She almost cringes at the swears, but just grins instead.] That works for me. Nova's... a lot. I don't think I'll ever get used to it, even working there.

... and we probably want to get to Everglade before dark. There's some weird law about being attacked.

[Well, that got her attention.. and curiosity. Li definitely was NOT afraid of being attacked. If anything, she seemed to surprisingly welcome it with a faint smirk. After all, anything that attacked her might lead to a good meal in the end.

Li wasn't a pushover. ]

Why's that? What would attack us and why?

[WELL, that's curious. One point up on the wary scale for the interest in Everglade.]

There's apparently some law about free game after dark, [she explains, waving a hand absently but paying careful attention to the reaction.] I think sixteen and younger is safe... and the elderly, if I recall correctly. It's... not someplace I visit often. Everyone else just...has to fend for themselves.

[Li's reaction? Her curiosity rose and she was already thinking of what meals she could find there after dark. Even if she was limited to certain ages, there had to be hunting to be had if there was a law about it, right?

She calmed down a little more, a smirk on her lips as she decided to check out Everglade as soon as possible. ]

Sounds perfect...Unless you're too chicken to take me there and check it out.

[Up three more points on the wary scale then.]

That's fine. Did you want to go there now? Or do you still want BBQ first?

[Food first was always her favorite option, but not being in Everglade after dark was just fine too.]

[As if a man-eating kelpie doesn't garner more points.]

...Barbecue first.

[Li tends to think with her stomach a lot of the time.]

[Twenty more points for that, but she's blissfully oblivious for the moment~

She nearly scowls at the decision- so much for comforting sunlight- but goes along with it anyway. The girl's only just gotten there... best to put her needs first.]

Cool. Let's do it.

[From there, she'd lead her through the city, curiously still feeling her out.]

So...where are you from?

[Li pauses for a moment before following after Dove. She'd definitely cautious and making sure there's a little space between them.

However, every movement she makes gives off a decidedly equine feel to it as she easily keeps up with the other.]
