GENESSIA COMMONSPACE
[ The groggy haze hasn't yet exactly worn off this demon hunter here and Nero finds himself crashed on the bed he has in this (temporary) room of his. Arm draped across his eyes, he's about five seconds away from conking out where he hopes when he wakes this will all be a bad dream, when the sound of WHATEVER THAT IS keeps him from doing so. With a scowl, he throws himself off the bed, yanks open the door (and nearly off its hinges oops) and- ]

Hey! You wanna keep it down?!

[ He'll just yell that down the hall to whoever or whatever that is. ]

GENESSIA CITY
[ Moving down the streets with a scowl on his face (not like he ever wears another expression) is a white-haired, sword strapped to his back with a glowing blue arm guy. He's heard the spiel about this place, is annoyed with this whole kidnapped by spirits shtick going on here, and can't remember the last time he actually ate something so that's where he's headed. Or hopes he is.

The first food place he finds, he drops some of those red bills down and asks what he can get with some of this and, as he waits for his food to be brought to him, if you're staring, he's gonna feel that... even address you without looking over. ]

Take a picture, it'll last longer.

[ That, or, he's going to be sitting there at whatever table is available, head in his hands and clearly just DONE with this place already. ]

[ Nothing like being assertive in getting shit done. ]

Don't tell me you're a tour guide, too.

[ That might be a bit of a joke there, sometimes it's hard to tell with him but if he's not walking away? Probably is. ]

Guess I might as well get myself comfortable here, is what you're saying, basically.

[ Since it sure as hell doesn't look like he's gonna be leaving whenever he wants. ]

[Enis lifts her shoulders in a dismissive shrug.]

Sometimes. I'm a deputy. I run towards danger when shit hits the fan, I help out the Genessia guardian and sometimes I play tour guide.

[She looks at him over her drink. She sucks at jokes that aren't sexual in nature but since she's not insulted she'll take it as a joke.]

Yes and if you'd like a full tour of the city I suppose I can do that too. [She waves a hand.] This is one of many bars in the city. [See, such a great tour guide.]

[ Well, someone's gotta be a tour guide? Better her than him because he'd make a lousy one, even if he ends up staying here for however long. ]

And how often does shit hit the fan?

[ No mastermind demonic bigshot trying to take over the world or anything here, right? Doesn't seem to be the case but he gets the feeling that there's moments where there's a little bit more going on than breaking and entering or little Johnny losing his temper here and there. ]

Wondering if I should be keeping my ear to the ground is all.

Not too often.

[She takes another sip of her drink to give herself time to think. Enis doesn't actually need the time but she's had to much practice playing human.]

Once every three months or so. It depends.

[There isn't a set time to it. It's nearly long enough for her to forget that this world has shit shows every once and awhile.]

Probably. Not just for that but odd things happen here and each city has their troubles and quirks.

Great, something to look forward to.

[ Or something. Whatever. Either way, he takes another sip before he gives a glance around the place he's been brought to, finding it looks more the type of place a certain other demon hunter might frequent. ]

Which city would you say is the most troublesome? Everglade?

[ Since it seems to have monsters and spooks and fear. ]

Everglade.

[She doesn't even miss a beat in her answer.]

That place is... complicated.

Then I guess that's the place to keep my eye on.

[ Might help with being part demon himself. Would he fit right in? Who knows. Not like humans or demons took kindly to a hybrid; didn't really belong to either side. ]

Guess you wouldn't recommend living there then?

Live wherever you want.

Everglade has a curfew. If you're out after dark you can legally get attacked by whatever. They won't come in your home though.

[It's not a horrible place to live.]

[ That has Nero's brows raise a bit as he takes another sip of his drink, coming to set the glass down with a gentle tap against the table. ]

Legally attacked?

[ Well, that's some new shit he's never really heard or dealt with before. Of course, he has to give a slight chuckle under his breath at that. ]

Sounds like that place might have quite a few vacant spots available.

Sort of. No one will get in trouble if you ignore curfew and suffer because you're an idiot.

[Though Enis firmly believes that there should be more signs telling people that.]

I think one of the brochures by the bay has the current laws and things for Everglade. It changes from time to time but not without a lot of commotion.

[ Nero makes a mental note of that, Everglade definitely being on his radar for... a few reasons. ]

[ A pause, he finishes taking another sip. ]

For all this.

[ Information, the drink... that sort of stuff. ]

[Enis rolls her shoulders in a lazy shrug.]

I'm learning that being nice is better than dismissive. You have no reason to thank me.

[Plus, she secretly likes the company.]

Yeah, well, makes things a lot easier sometimes to be dismissive.

[ Taking a sip of his drink, he licks over his lips. ]

Besides, don't wanna be known as that guy who didn't thank you and get shit for it somehow in the future.

Usually.

[Enis smiles at that before shaking her head gently from side to side.]

It's fine. I don't do this to be thanked but it's never unpleasant to hear. [It's awkward as fuck sometimes because Enis doesn't really consider herself 'nice' but it's not unpleasant.]

It's also been interesting meet you.

[ Guess that makes two of 'em, huh? ]

Interesting is not typically a word I get, so I'll have to take your word for it.

[ Pausing for a moment to take another drink. ]

But I guess the same can be said for you and trust me, I don't say that often.

[The pleasant burn of alcohol slips down her throat as warm fills her slim frame. Enis lets her eyes inspect the man in front of her; the way his shoulders are set, the position of his lips and the angel of his jaw. They're all little observations but they slowly paint a description of the man sitting across from her.]

By most standards, a lot of people here are interesting. It's common but also unusual.

As much as I dislike being trapped here, it is a bonus.

[Enis is skillfully avoiding the compliment. She doesn't always take those well, if at all, and it feels weird to address it or remark on it. She doesn't consider herself very interesting. Through a logical stand point, her past is unique, but it all depends on your basis of comparison.

She takes another sip of her drink, finishing the thin amber liquid.]

[No one calls her except her boss, so she doesn't really care.]

[ He can see how it can be considered a bonus with being here, a sort of freedom that comes with it all in a sense. From the sounds of it, a lot of people who end up here have a lot of shit going on back home and, while some are eager to get back to it, others don't seem to be just as willing to board the first spirit train out of here.

For Nero, he's used to being considered interesting thanks to the glowing arm and all, nevermind his childhood. Whether it be enough to get him teased and bullied for being a bastard orphan or wanting to be used in some messed up experimentation because oooh, shiny demonic arm, he can't help but wonder what it might be like to be considered normal or not the least bit interesting.

But then again, he wouldn't be able to do what he does now, would he? ]

Yeah, no, think I'm good.

[ To which he finishes off his own drink. ]

Thanks again.

[Enis nods her head as she places her own empty glass on the table.] I should probably get back to work then. I'll be around if you need anything. [It's an easy thing to offer since no one ever takes her up on the polite remark. If they did, she probably wouldn't be in the habit of offering it at the end of meetings.]

[She tosses some money on the table as she raises to her feet.]
