Indian Summer Illusion: New residents, New villain, New anniversary [Video open/Action closed]
A [Video/Open to all]
[Mavis is sitting by the lake in Fayren.]
August is a great month of the year, isn't it?
[She sounds dreamy, and she might be blushing a little.]
I would have liked to be able to tell him that.
[She suddenly realizes the feed is open. She blinks and then simply smiles.] I've heard people celebrate anniversaries by offering something that corresponds to the number of years. Like... 50 years corresponds to gold, 60 years correspond to diamonds,... But I couldn't find a book about it.
Could one of you help me figure out what 3 years mean?
B [Text message - Private to Fayren's deputies + Moon Knight]
I believe you all saw this. Qubine, the villain in question is the guy who made the recent anonymous posts against heroes and guardians. I wanted to inform you that Aizawa - and probably some of his students - is going to be moving to Fairy Haven, for his protection. This means we need to be careful and keep an eye out for this villain.
According to the information I could gather, he's a human male, he has light blue hair and a disembodied hand covering his face. Though I suspect it's mostly a way to hide his true identity when actin as a villain, so he might not wear the hand all the time. Let me know if you notice any new arrival who'd match this description.
C [Action - Open to all Fairy Haven's residents/employees/regulars and to Aizawa, Bakugou and whoever they decide to bring with them]
[Mavis is waiting by the entrance of Fairy Haven. She's watching the horizon intently. Suddenly, she claps her hands happily and turns around.]
Mira! Erza! I think I see them! Want to come with me and show them their new 'classroom' and their beds in the dorms? Tatlyn and Zeref, you're welcome to come too.
[Though she's not sure Zeref will want to.]
[[Edit OOC note: feel free to threadjack any action thread you want.]]

[Okay, so counting the seven years she was in stasis was sort of cheating, but since she spent nearly every single day of her life tending bar, she wasn't too pleased to see him there.]
Where did you get the vegetables?
[Just so she doesn't have to worry about scolding him even further for stealing her personal stock.]
no subject
[He just ignores her for a long minute before answering.]
I brought my own.
no subject
[She can't really find too much fault in him frying up his own vegetables... other than the fact that he's using her bar to do so! Still... she supposed it was only fair to share... a little.]
Next time you want food just ask okay? I'll be happy to cook you something, but I don't like people going behind my bar. Or if you'd prefer to cook your own food I'll set up a separate kitchen for you.
no subject
[He adds them in with some meat that sizzles and pops.]
Do you want my fucking food or not?
no subject
[Mirajane merely smiles and places a hand on Bakugou's shoulder... a hand that feels eerily skeletal. When she next speaks the voice that speaks to him is that of a decrepit old crone and if he turns around gone is the attractive young barmaid and in her place is a hag.]
That's okay sonnny, you don't need to share your food with this old woman.
no subject
Bakugou jumps back as far as he can, crouching down and hands splayed as he growls, teeth bared and foaming at the mouth like a wild animal.]
Fucking die!
no subject
Ahahahaha! Ahhhh... I'm sorry... but if you-pffffHEHAHAHAHA! Hooo... If you could have seen the look on your face... oh it was totally worth it.
(ooc: My last link was the wrong one ^^; So this is the haggy image in question.)
no subject
Fucking creepy. I knew you were a hag.
no subject
I prefer the term demon.
[She gives Bakugou a playful wink, and begins working on her own dinner right beside him. Just this once she'd make an exception and let him stay behind the bar with her while she cooked, it might be a good learning experience for both of them.]
So where'd you learn to cook? I originally learned to cook for my siblings, so I'm always curious about other people's reasons.
[It seemed like Mirajane was feeling quite a bit more cordial and friendly after she was able to evoke a reaction of terror out of bakugou rather than just rage, smugness, or grouchiness. It helped when she was able to finally see a different side of him even if it was animalistic mouth foaming terror.]
no subject
You're not a demon. I've been with a demon.
[He starts chopping something else up, seething in his anger but otherwise silent.]
I taught myself.
no subject
There were more times in my life than I can count when I wished that were true. If there's one thing I can assure you of though, it's that I am a demon... my specialty is the ability to change into, possess, and take on the attributes of various demons.
[Chop, chop, she dices her meat for her own dish, but making sure she's not too in his personal space while doing so.]
Would you hand me the salt? So what demon have you been with? One of our local residents or someone from back home?
no subject
[He tosses her the salt, pausing when she asks her next question.]
...Doesn't matter now, and what's with the fucking moodswings? Aren't you a little old to be going through menopause?
no subject
You don't know much about magic do you? I also have the power to possess humans, beasts, and animals if I chose to.
[She pinches out little bits of salt to apply to her dish, instinctively knowing how much she needs.]
I'll have you know I'm twenty two years old, and as to the mood swings? You could say it's one of the effects of having so many different demons inside of me. Usually I'm pretty chipper with everyone, but little hot heads like you always manage to bring out the worst in me. Probably because you rile up my inner demons rather easily.
no subject
[He goes quiet, his voice more solemn when he asks.]
So do you do it? Possess humans?
no subject
Actually... no. It's a power I developed fairly recently and the only time I ever used it was in a war and I had only used it as a means to pacify our enemy.
[It's a power she'd often debated with herself if she should practice more with it, because the moral consequences of taking over another human being were... chilling in many regards.]
When I possess another being it becomes a battle of wills and my own magical power. Those with a certain level of experience and power are more difficult to control than your average citizen, and it's possible that if you attempt to possess someone too powerful, you can become lost to the other entity forever. There's a lot of risk involved with take over magic...
[Mirajane hesitates for a moment mid frying... and then finally speaks something that's been on her mind.]
Sometimes people wonder if I'm in fact Mirajane, or just a culmination of all the demons I've possessed.
no subject
Who gives a shit who you are, Forehead Girl?! What actually matters is whether your body disappears when you possess someone. Do you become some shitty combination of yourself and the person you're possessing? Explain it to me.
[Maybe it's how he distracts people, maybe he's just terrible with emotions. It's probably a bit of both.]
no subject
[Hey, she can be just as rude right back atcha buddy.]
If you're successful in the first half of the takeover, yes your body disappears when you possess another being. From there you have the battle of wills, if you are successful you are that person as well as your former self from now on. You can change between the two forms at will, but the original entity might still try to regain control if they have sufficient will or aid. Usually takeover mages don't do a full body takeover, for while it is the most effective way of taking absolute control, you will usually destroy the one you possess, as well as risk destroying yourself if you don't have the strength for it.
Theoretically it's possible for someone who uses takeover magic to lose themselves so completely that the one they attempted to take over now gains all their powers, memories, and knowledge. That... is how I gained the ability to possess humans, because I fought a demon with the very same magic I possess, only theirs worked solely against humans. Because you gain such insight into the being you possessed, in many ways you do become a combination of yourself and the other being. Traditionally takeover magic is used merely to make other beings do as you please, but you can use it for full body takeovers and that's how I vanquished most of the demons I've fought.
[Of course... it's quite a bit easier to perform a full body takeover on a being that is beaten so badly that they don't have the strength left to resist you.]
Does that satisfy your burning curiosity about my power?
[She wasn't to concerned about him gaining insight about it to use against her, primarily because her takeover magic was a mere fraction of her true powers, and one she likely wouldn't use on him anyways.]
no subject
[It's said distractedly, without as much of his usual fire. He listens to her explain, grabbing a bowl and sliding his food into it.]
One of my classmates has a dark shadow version of himself. They're the same but not and have their own personalities. It's a strong quirk, but it makes him weak to light. Do you think you'd be weak to my murder explosions too?
no subject
You got it baka go.
[See how seriously she takes you?]
My powers are quite a bit different, I'm actually quite resilient to fire and explosions... though I suppose not completely immune.
[It would certainly be interesting to see how much damage would be capable of dishing out someday.]
