[She frowns slightly. What can she say? Li's a horse trapped in a human's body. Sometimes how she comprehends things is vastly different from a human's thought process.]

I didn't have alternatives before this place except barbecued pork. You need money for that even back home.

So why wouldn't I go for my kind's natural diet? There's so many of you, who cares if a few people go missing. They never did back home just so long as I took the ones no one cared about.

[ Sam's not happy with her assessment of the situation, and if she's actively eating humans, he should be hunting her. But he doesn't want to. She has control over her actions. She doesn't prefer human meat, it doesn't seem like, and she didn't choose what she is. ]

It's not like I can just wander out and snatch a salad off the streets, either. Food costs money.

And it may seem like you're doing us a favor by getting rid of "the ones no one cares about" but you're really just reinforcing human cruelty. It's not your job to make us better, but the "ones no one cares about" are people too and someone should care.

[She snorted faintly and then started moving and the way she moved.. definitely echoed of something more equine.]

Eating humans means I get to survive so, I eat who I catch.

[ Sam's not sure what to say about this, because at some level, she's probably right. The guys she's killing are the same ones who'd say she's asking for it by being hot and dressing the part. And some of them probably would go on to rape women who were less capable of taking care of themselves.

But he couldn't condone eating them. Especially if she was setting them up. Then again, he and Dean had set up plenty of people. More and more, he was finding it hard to judge.

He sighed, lifting a hand to rub the bridge of his nose. ]

Yeah, I don't want to say what they're doing is right, because it's not. And if I try to say that it's wrong to kill them anyway, that's just valuing human lives over yours, which is pretty natural since I'm human, but it's not really right either.

The homeless, though. They aren't doing anything wrong. They're already suffering. From your perspective, they're probably weakening the herd or something. But most of them are victims of misfortune and if they get help instead of getting eaten, they might end up being the person who cures cancer or helps you when someone's trying to attack you.

[Of course he'd value human lives over her own. That's natural just like she'd value another Kelpie's over his. That part she understood. Though, his right and wrong bullshit? That she doesn't quite get.]

They are weakening the herd and I highly doubt any of them are going to do what you think or they wouldn't be such easy targets to feed off of. Besides, if someone's attacking me, I'm capable of handling myself against any human.

I'm stronger and faster than they are so no human would stand a chance.

[Mages, wizards and monster hunters however... That she'd have problems with but chances are they'd be yelling for the other human to get away, not letting them defend her.]

We aren't a herd. And there's no telling a human's abilities from their physical condition. Stephen Hawking would be an easy target to feed off of, but his mind is brilliant, the things he's taught us are beyond imagining.

[ Sam shrugs. He understands that this isn't a natural way of thinking for her, but how is he supposed to just let her live her life knowing she's going to hunt for some human to eat? ]

It doesn't even matter whether they turn out to be 'valuable' or not. We're judged by how we take care of the weakest among us. We're already failing the homeless, and letting you feed on them because 'no one will miss them' would be wrong.

I hear there are some restaurants in the city that cater to unusual food needs. Have you talked to any of them?

[Considering she has no idea who Stephen Hawking is? She can't say whether the man has any value to her. And he's also right in thinking that it's not her way of thinking.

For her, it's always been dominance fights, survival of the fittest...and at one time, her herd. Something that was very long gone with only her left. I can understand that. But maybe it doesn't have to be a handout. Maybe you could help them in some way, or work there? Do you have a job?

[All Li's trying to do is survive any way she can and still remain her. Something that becomes increasingly harder as the years go on.]

Why would I want a job? That's a human thing and I'm not human. Besides, who the fuck would want a kelpie working for them? I'd probably beat the crap out of the first person to piss me off.

Because if you get a job, you'll make money to pay for your meals. It isn't becoming human to do things humans do. It's just adapting, so you can survive.

[Li growls softly and glares at him.]

I can't. Adapting like that means I loose me and the fucking curse wins. I die. So the whole, adapting to be human thing? Not fucking happening.

[ Sam frowns, brows knitting. ]

[She turns away from her device and mutters to herself in Gaelic, obviously pissed off about something other than his suggestions and the problem was, Li could not talk about it. Literally.]
