Well, I have to admit, this has been a very curious morning.

[Albus Dumbledore is sitting in a chair in front of a small table ~~in a place that is not his normal living quarters shhhh~~ and looking at his own hand with a small, mischievous look on his face.

There's nothing in his hand, until his smears his thumb over his palm and a small hard candy appears. He raises his hand up and drops into the palm of his other hand. And then drops another hard candy, and another. And then he releases a candy cane, and a lollipop, and a roll of taffy, letting them accumulate in a small pile on a table in front of him, each item appearing out of thin air.

It's almost like watching a magician pull a trick, except his sleeves are rolled up, and he doesn't have his wand.

He seems utterly delighted by this, his eyes shining with even more mischief than normal.]

Tell me, would anyone be interested in some candy?

Ah, where are my manners, I did not ask for your name.

No need to worry at all. My name is Mr. Dumbledore, and you need not repay me, I'm happy to oblige.

What a frabjous name! Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Mister Dumbledore [She may have misunderstood and just didn't wish to be rude.] My name is Alice Liddell, how do you do?

It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Miss Liddell. [He'll let the mistake go, though he smiles at being addressed so.] How are you faring in the midst of all of these changes throughout the city?

Well, I suppose well enough. I'm still fairly new, so any new changes are just changes rather than being used to something old and something new popping about. If things are still new and something new occurs, it's not so much new itself as it's just something to take in! But there seem to be many here who are quite used to old things and old ways so when this new thing came about, well they all became such a kerfuffled sort! Something like this can't well, kerfuffle me because so much else is kerfuffling to begin with.

[Alice thought that made perfect sense.]

I understand what you mean, I think. After all, if it's already an entirely new state of affairs, well, then it stays that way even if the changes themselves change.

Exactly so! For all I could have known, this happens once a month and been quite a normal state of affairs to adjust to. It isn't, though... apparently.

You're quite right, it isn't. I have been here for a few months now and can safely say that this is an unusual occurrence, even for this place.

What is a usual occurrence, if you might know, sir?

Not being transformed into anything at all, I imagine.

Oh... what about changing your size? Even Wonderland did that quite often.

I don't normally change my size. Or not in any noticeable way day-to-day. I imagine many people are the same.

Oh, but everyone changes everyday. The you of today isn't the you of yesterday, and the you of tomorrow won't be the you of today!

That we are, but I think our changes are not normally so dramatic as this.

Oh, they can be much more! You can start the day with a brand new perspective on things! A new mindset entirely and a way to look at the world! That's much greater than just your size.

Ah, you raise a very wise point. How silly of me not to think of such things.

That's alright sir, you likely think of things I've never thought of all the time!

Oh, I imagine I may, just as all people think of such new and different things from each other.

Sometimes I think as many as six impossible things before breakfast, but they may be the most ordinary things for someone else!

Ah, but what a wonderful way to think indeed. And breakfast would most certainly be the best time of day in which to try.

Maybe some of your impossible things can come from your dreams, and I remember those best in the morning.

That's a very good point. And dreams are so often wonderfully impossible, so much so that we don't even notice until we're awake.

And the more curious part is when things from your dreams come here!

I imagine it would! Has such a thing happened to you here?

Well... in a way... yes. You see, two people... well one person and a cat are here, and I very much remember dreaming about them. Although, now I'm not so sure it was a dream at all if they're here!
