[After the initial shock of waking up in a strange place, Ejava is relieved to find that at least her armor and daiklave--a suit of articulated plate and a massively oversized curved sword, both artifacts constructed of magical green Jade--are with her in the cocoon. After donning her armor and examining the contents of the small box she was given, it doesn't take long for the general to realize she's not in Creation anymore.

The videophone is an unusual device, but Ejava has used stranger First Age artifacts before, and with the instructions included in the pamphlet, it proves easy enough to operate.]

[A hard-faced redheaded woman appears on the video feed. Her green plate armor is adorned with thornlike spikes on the pauldrons as well as vine and rose designs.]

This is Strategos Tepet Ejava of the Vermillion Legion. Any Dragonblooded receiving this broadcast, report immediately.

[When no fellow Terrestrial Exalted answer, she quickly concludes that none are present. Though not without political differences, the Dragonblooded would certainly band together in a situation like this.]

Any mortal soldier of the Realm, report to me at once.

[General Tepet leaves the channel open for return communications as she steps outside to scout the surrounding terrain.]

I've been thinking about it. [As for what her qualification are...]

Fighting wise, I've dealt with Sin, whom in my world until I defeated it would always come back after a while. I have a multitude of abilities currently depending on my dressphere. [She paused slightly.]

After all what these people need are those to protect them and that if what I want to do should I actually desire if I could handle it or not.

[Yuna looked at the device.]

I don't know. There isn't any good information right now since we don't have a clue where half of them are, so what information might be might be useless.

I haven't heard of that creature, but for now let us assume I take your word that you're an extremely strong fighter. That could make you an excellent deputy. But is the Guardian position not largely concerned with leading and coordinating the efforts of the deputies, as would befit a general like myself?

If you're as good as you say, then I'd be glad to have you as a deputy when I am Guardian of a city.

It can be but I'm not one to just sit behind a desk and do nothing. Don't you think a leader should also be out in the front lines with those they coordinating?

I am General of the Vermillion Legion, not some indolent bureaucrat. I lead from the front, as does any good Dragonblooded officer. Neither my armor nor my Daiklave is for show.

[Yuna could be forgiven for thinking otherwise, considering how ornately decorated the armor and oversized sword are. Then again, a Final Fantasy character should know better than to judge based on that :p ]

Have you any experience leading? That is the chief difference between the positions of Guardian and Deputy, is it not?

I didn't say you were one at all, it's just due to what happened it was a question on my mind for those who do hold the positions. They didn't come when they were needed and others had to do it in their place. If they weren't helping then what were they doing? Hiding or aren't they even there any more?

[It frustrates her a little bit thinking that, but she tries to not show it.]

It would help more if there was a way of knowing when they have gone or not since right now there is no way in telling. [She shakes her head, she never did but sometimes she did have to lead, but never with a large group. Only two others.]

To a large group of people no.

If current Guardians have abandoned their posts, they will have no right to complain if someone else claims them. I intend to do so. It's up to you if you'd rather claim a different city of your own or become a deputy instead.

Do you believe you are suited to coordinating the defense of a city?

I can't say I would know until I try. I just have to believe that I can do it so long as people believe in me.

But that could just me my wishful thinking.

That's not much of a plan, is it?

Sometimes plans never go as planned, so why not have a bit of a plan but not have a full plan.

No plan put into action survives without improvisation. Planning remains no less indispensable despite this.
