CP..flu :(
Something has happened to the CPU! Security measures seem to have gone absolutely wonky, making everyone’s conversations:
◘ Private messages may become public messages
◘ Unanonymous when they’re trying to post anonymously
◘ Undeletable
◘ Misfired
Will it cause technological and privacy chaos? Yes, absolutely. Have fun with that.
Keep in mind that there is only one requirement for participation in this event: You must tag at least one person you do not currently have CR with a misfire.
Otherwise, whatever drama or crack you want to cause with this one, go for it. The CPU will feel better on Saturday, so this is a quick two-day event and will be done in this single log post (here!) so it’s easy to post misfires all in one place but as always, you are welcome to make your own posts as well.
To opt out: There was a power surge when this technology fluke happened, so your device is now refusing to turn on. It may need repairs or replacement.

Like I said, it ain't my business. I'll pretend I didn't see anything.
[He tenses at her offer, clenching his fist and quietly exhales.]
Nah, don't worry about it. Just got a lot of behind-the-scenes shit to do. You deputies got enough to deal with on patrols.
[...plus seeing her face to face right now is not what he wants to do. Not at all. He just needs to get up a good mask.]
Maybe someday I'll get to use those vouchers you got me, eh?

*Faye struggles to swallow, feeling awful and confused. Was it okay? It didn't sound like it... And why was he so mad, if he wasn't? It all hurts a lot to think about*
You should. That was the point - so you can get out of there and get some rest. I could - I could maybe even help in the office while you're away. I'm sure I won't be completely useless...

It's hard to justify taking a break when that incident just happened. I gotta soldier through it. I know you could handle it, I just need a better opportunity to take it.
I'll use them before the next debate, at the very least.
no subject
Okay...
If you don't, then I'll have to find a way to smuggle you there.
*An attempt to lighten the mood, bring everything back to normal, whatever that means*
no subject
Careful, you don't want to get caught by border patrol. I don't know that smuggling guardians is legal.
[That was funny, right? Sure. Maybe. Probably not. But at least he had a lighter tone to his voice. Which doesn't at all match up with that angry scowl on his face, but luckily the video wasn't on.]
Now I'm curious if smuggling fines are a thing here. I should look that up later.
[He won't but it's a cute thought.]

*Which is probably not something a deputy guardian should say, but nevermind. They're both just having a lovely laugh together anyway, right?*
no subject
[Yeah, a laugh. That's what this is.]
Who am I kiddin'. Takes a rule breaker to catch bigger rule breakers. We're perfect for the job.
no subject
*The joking was hard, and in the end Faye was honest, and gentle*
The job. Working with you. It's meant a lot to me...
no subject
I had the opportunity to try and make things better for you. Of course I was going to take it.
[Not like he could do anything else.]
I just- [He hesitates again.] -hope it's actually workin' out for you.
no subject
*It isn't something she says very often, but by the warmth in her voice it was clear that she meant it*
It is... Life is - Well, it's much more bearable now...
*She didn't want to say too much, especially not over such an open network*

[He could feel his chest tightening. This felt like some kind of real mood whiplash for him.]
You really seem in your element as a deputy. You're good at keepin' cool and coordinated in a tough situation.
[The more he talks, the more pained he feels. Why is he so stupid? When he speaks again, his voice is even lower, almost in a hush.]
I'm just sorry I can't do more for you.
no subject
Gale, thanks to you I have a job and a place to live. Which is basically my whole life here. You realise that, don't you?
no subject
I... guess I feel like I'm not doing enough.
[Damn it, why is he still talking?]
I'm just. Glad I can help somehow, at least.
[Quit digging your hole deeper, Gale.]
no subject
*Which was absolutely the truth*
Of course you can. You're always a big help to me...
