I want to be sure I'm not... Is there a way to check if someone's vanished, besides just asking about them on the network, or finding them ourselves? I can't 'sense' Mom or Dad.

Hi Rose, Captain Harkness,

I may have to leave Torchwood except as a consultant for hire. Mom has vanished, so I'll be taking over Capsule Corps here in Nova Corps full time. I'd still love to work with Torchwood when I can though, and keep communication lines open for business trade. Capsule Corps doesn't advertise it openly, but we do have a lab for research and testing, as well as a Gravity Room. Mostly it got used for training by Dad--but I'm sure it has other uses too.

At Holodeck'd and dealing with the loss.

Trunks actually hadn't used the Holodeck as much as Goku or others for training. Usually because he was training against someone, and the Colosseum was better for that--just in case. This time though, he didn't have any specific goals. Just needing to push himself, to exhaust himself a bit and let his mind work through things.

Some different locations programmed in--cliffs and ravines, a void-space that was designed to alternate its environment via extreme heat or cold, a place that resembled Capsule Corp's courtyard back in the 'past' world that he'd visited. Pulling opponents from the variety Goku usually used, since they had faces Trunks didn't know (as well as some familiar ones).

Pushing himself to deal with his grief, venting his anger. But he'd be open for company and talking maybe. Once he's exhausted. Maybe a training-partner before then too.

[OOC--Opponents you will NOT see him train against in Holodeck'd include: Vegeta, 17, 18, Zamasu, Goku-Black, Cell, or Nappa. Basically anyone he might actually be close to or lose his temper against...]

When passing by the Holo Deck on his motorbike - he got a feeling a feeling that told him to go inside.

Once inside the Holodeck - The Doctor had to hand it - it is very real but Time Lord's eyes basically being computers could tell that it wasn't really real.
Whether now; Ten enters upon extreme heat; Gallifrey after all had two suns or extreme cold which he could also take at least more than the average human; doesn't appear to be affected by the environment simulated.

If anything he's listening and hears the 'swoosh' sound of someone in there.

Ten and Trunks had worked together enough that it was highly likely the Time Lord was sensitive to the other's aura-and-energy. Even if usually Time Lords were only touch-telepathic. Or it could be a good old fashioned 'hunch'.

In any event, entering the room at Holodeck'd revealed the white void-space, with a platform extending only about 3 meters into the void. Ten had no way to know it, but others who'd used the Room of Spirit and Time would recognize what this location was modeled on. Which was why the temperature fluctuated and was currently in 'extreme heat' mode.

That 'swooshing' noise would indeed be someone in there--wielding a broad-sword. Against a horde of opponents, clearly with the difficulty turned up considering how the fight had gone in reality. Different races but with a uniform armor-scheme . The leader was obvious enough. Beam-attacks of various kinds flying, and King Cold holding himself back as his soldiers threw themselves at Trunks.

Trunks was weathering the heat alright himself, aside from being sweaty and without his jacket. Still in his base-form too instead of powered up. Both for the extra challenge and for a more personal reason.

No one had yet noticed Ten's arrival.

He can't say that the white void-space doesn't pinch a nerve; Battle of Canary Wharf. That and just being a Time Lord the void was just - wrong mainly for the fact that he 'shut down' with feeling space-time that. Otherwise, it was perfectly natural for the void between universes.

He could sense that the heat was hotter than what is comfortable for most humans but you know - two suns on Gallifrey. Totally fine.

The Doctor notes the different beings - ones that he doesn't know of; of course.

Which is then when the distress; that Ten felt via low telepathic spots Trunks.

For the moment; Ten is just going to observe.

At least the Holodeck'd version wasn't like the real room. Both because of the actual effects related to time, and because flying was normally a requirement to move around. Hopefully Ten could bear it until either the location changed again or Trunks noticed he was there. Of course, it was likely the programmed beings could notice Ten as well while he observed.

Which they did, taking him for another opponent. "Oh, I wasn't aware you needed back-up." King Cold's drawled, arms crossed and eyes sliding over to Ten. "Can't have that, can we?" Raising up an arm, with a finger pointed at Ten and ki gathering at the tip.

Back-up? Now Trunks had his attention drawn to Ten. He'd been focused, his attention on the program and his own emotions, and hadn't realized when the other had arrived. Parrying another beam from the lizard-man with an arm-mounted beam-gun, before moving faster to strike back.

Time to pause the program perhaps?

This would be more of an adrenaline rush - if this was real and not digital and able to turn off the program. Which The Doctor could do with his sonic screwdriver; which The Doctor does use because Trunks isn't 'powered up' and doesn't need to be fainting on Ten's account of being there.

"Hope you don't mind if I crash things." There's sympathy as well as concern crossing his face as Ten eyes Trunks.

"Fancy finding you here. You look like you could use a drink, come on."

That was one way to avoid becoming a target. Considering Ten had stopped the program entirely, Trunks took a controlled breath and then relaxed. "I'd worry more about you getting hurt, but you seem to have a solution for that." He was aware that the doctor(s) could somewhat take care of themselves, but Trunks was still a protector at heart.

The offer of a drink though brings a soft and unhappy chuckle. "Trust me, you don't want me drinking right now. I don't want to be drinking right now. It's why I'm beating up old memories." One hand moving up to rake sweaty bangs out of his eyes, the other resting his sword against his shoulder by the blade's flat. "What're you doing here?"

"Just passing through." Ten whispers; with a soft undertone of 'what's wrong?'

"And I wasn't going to suggest alcohol- was thinking more tea."

Considering in this case; alcohol would just make Trunks more thirsty.

There is a soft "Smart man." from Trunks, about the offer of tea. "Maybe in a little bit. Still feeling a need to be active, and pent up energy." It's sort of an answer, but probably not the one Ten wants.

"Latest round of disappearances." That is probably closer to the answer. "But, I appreciate you checking on me. I probably won't be able to be part-time at Torchwood anymore, depending on how things go."

There's a small head nod; he'll wait around. Oh, no. Who disappeared? Which Ten is somewhat sad he like Bulma as a friend.

Suppose he'll have to just happen by Capsule Corp.

"I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry."

Giving Trunks a sympathetic look.

"Want to talk about it?"

Trunks smirked slightly. "If I wanted to talk, I wouldn't be in here beating things up." Which also came out more snarky than he usually was.

Pausing, then sighing as he met Ten's eyes.

"I tend to work best while I'm moving and distracted." Similar to Rose in that way, which might be part of why they're friends. "As much as you're not a fan of violence, you could join me?" Easier for Trunks to talk as well, and he did appreciate Ten's consideration.

"Maybe you didn't have the right person to talk too...." Ten replies very neutral and therapist like.

There's a look in those eyes; that he's seen too much violence and scared of himself on how this face got near the end - thinking he could choose who could live and who could die and - holding the revolver and point to kill.

There's also that strike of fear behind the tired of the fighting.

"No, I can't."

That look in the eyes--it's familiar enough in a way. That pain and fear of who you could become, when pushed to your limits. In some ways, that was what a 'saiyan' lived for in pushing those limits, but Trunks also was only half-saiyan.

Quiet, and with a sad smile, understanding though. "How about then just some training? You know styles I don't, and it'd be nice to duel without an audience?" If that would work, Trunks'd just get rid of the programmed opponents. The environment would still work fine. "I wonder if you've had the right person to talk to before either."

Trunks understand - Ten isn't sure if he wants to know why the other understand this face of dry but hidden deep fear of one's destructive self and gives a head nod about the dueling but doesn't say anymore about the rest.

A nod of his own--acknowledging and then speaking audibly. "Program, end opposed-combat stage. Keep the background setting and--" A glance at the other man. "Unarmed or armed? I'm good with either. As long as I'm moving, I'll manage.

"What's armed?" Ten eyes Trunks sharply.

"Weapons. No guns though." Trunks nods his head slightly to the sword still resting on his shoulder. "We could use practice weapons, if that'd be more comfortable too." But Trunks trusted Ten with live weapons, and trusted himself too. Neither would hurt the other by being careless.

There's an inward shudder; that maybe is slightly obvious that reaches the surface of his eyes.

Where swords are alright - Ten is just wondering if he trusts himself enough to use anything.

"Do you trust me?"

"If I didn't, I wouldn't offer." Said with no hesitation, and a genuine smile. "This setting okay? Or would you prefer something normal?"

"Then swords it is." Then a handwave - not caring either way about the setting.

Another nod, and a moment of thought. "Program, please generate a basic broadsword." Hopefully that would work for the Doctor. Not too far away, on the platform that was one of the few things that existed in the white void, a broadsword appeared. Just as seamless as the generated enemies had vanished earlier.

Waiting for Ten to be ready, then Trunks was shifting his posture. Sword resting in a light guard position and ready.

When the sword appears near Ten and The Doctor takes that; he pauses in thought for a moment. As he's remembering something.

That seem so long ago. And in a way; it was for him. But not long enough. Why did he have to go so soon? Why did he have to lose her? Why did he push her away in the end? Why with everyone?

Silence and stillness for several heartbeats, before the slightest of tells from Trunks is giving in warning. A narrowing and shifting of his eyes, faintest nod of his head. Then moving swiftly forward for some quick strikes. Simple ones, easy enough to parry as the point of all this is more for the movement. The distraction of doing things, the physical exertions to help provide a buffer from emotional pain.
