Family Meetings and discussions (Video and Action)
Video--Locked to Bulla, Mai, Nappa, Seventeen, and Goku.
I want to be sure I'm not... Is there a way to check if someone's vanished, besides just asking about them on the network, or finding them ourselves? I can't 'sense' Mom or Dad.
Video---Locked to Rose Tyler and Jack Harkness."
Hi Rose, Captain Harkness,
I may have to leave Torchwood except as a consultant for hire. Mom has vanished, so I'll be taking over Capsule Corps here in Nova Corps full time. I'd still love to work with Torchwood when I can though, and keep communication lines open for business trade. Capsule Corps doesn't advertise it openly, but we do have a lab for research and testing, as well as a Gravity Room. Mostly it got used for training by Dad--but I'm sure it has other uses too.
At Holodeck'd and dealing with the loss.
Trunks actually hadn't used the Holodeck as much as Goku or others for training. Usually because he was training against someone, and the Colosseum was better for that--just in case. This time though, he didn't have any specific goals. Just needing to push himself, to exhaust himself a bit and let his mind work through things.
Some different locations programmed in--cliffs and ravines, a void-space that was designed to alternate its environment via extreme heat or cold, a place that resembled Capsule Corp's courtyard back in the 'past' world that he'd visited. Pulling opponents from the variety Goku usually used, since they had faces Trunks didn't know (as well as some familiar ones).
Pushing himself to deal with his grief, venting his anger. But he'd be open for company and talking maybe. Once he's exhausted. Maybe a training-partner before then too.
[OOC--Opponents you will NOT see him train against in Holodeck'd include: Vegeta, 17, 18, Zamasu, Goku-Black, Cell, or Nappa. Basically anyone he might actually be close to or lose his temper against...]
Re: Action
[Because it was important she be happy too.]
It's a nice change, most of the time, to live with people compared to how I grew up... But I also want you happy, and I want us happy. Taking it all at our own pace, teasing aside.
Action
You're forgetting. I'm used to remaining close to friends and family as well. Being around them does make me happy.
Re: Action
I really shouldn't worry, because I know you're more than capable of making sure you're heard--just the rest of us in this house are so loud, I want to make sure you don't get overshadowed or forgotten.
Action
I was never worried about things like that. Pilaf was always the one who preferred to stand in the sunlight. Before you knew me...I was pretty content with living in his shadow. Or I wouldn't have stayed with him for as long as I did.
Re: Action
The younger Mai he remembered certainly hadn't seemed to be as much in Pilaf's shadow, even though she and Shu had followed his lead. The trio had seemed either inseparable, or he'd encountered young Mai on her own.]
And now? Like I said, I know you can make yourself heard easily, but I still don't want you to feel left out, or like you have to compete to get yourself heard.
Action
[Her smile was back in full force. Only this time, it didn't seem quite so put-on. In fact, if anything, she seemed amused by something.]
You were always the quiet one between the two of us. Keeping to yourself. Only ever really working alongside me and Bulma on a regular basis. And look at you now.
Re: Action
[Offered with a wry smile.]
It's not that I don't really want to be around people, I just...didn't really know how to interact much. My life has been far from normal. Here---well, here it's actually pretty normal for a change.
[Maybe with some bashfulness. He still wasn't necessarily what others would call outgoing. He was getting friendlier, but it was still more borne from concern and a desire to help.]
Action
[Mirroring his wryness; it was simply a statement of honesty. Not a criticism or mockery. He was so quiet and isolated as an adult, it was never a stretch to imagine such a life for him as a child. Especially in a world fraught with loss and devastation, and a lineage such as his.]
Nothing about our world was normal, Trunks. In a way...it wasn't even really our world anymore. It was taken from us over and over again.
If you'd ever had a chance to live a life without those Androids...without Zamasu...things would have turned out differently, I'm sure of it.
Re: Action
He didn't really begrudge himself (so to speak) that other life either. He still wished that he could've had it, but it was more important to him that no one have to suffer the way his world had and the way he had. That's why even though his world hadn't changed after his first trip back, he'd still come back again to help.]
I'm glad you got a second chance though, and hopefully got to have some normalcy and more fulfillment in your life before it went badly again.
[Genuinely meant, because he wanted her happy. She'd had her own hard life, and kept him and so many people going. He may've been a 'symbol' and more visible on the front lines of the resistance, but she had been the heart.]
Action
[Or, in this case, acknowledge his own reference.]
That depends on one's definition of "normalcy". Did I have the chance to live in peace? For a time, yes. We all did, thanks to you. But it had been so long...and there was so much to be done in those days. I spent most of that decade helping with the reconstruction.
Re: Action
The conversation and food though, were helping to remind him he'd had a long day. One that had its own trials, considering the vanishing of his parents. (Along with many others...) Bringing their joined hands and laced fingers up, Trunks pressed a soft kiss against her knuckles.]
I did too, honestly. I still want to figure out this place, and find a way for us to all go home--but I have been enjoying the relative normalcy here. Even if it has it's own trials.
[A pause, and then there's the tired smile again.]
I think, after I eat some more, I may just go shower and then try and unwind. Thank you--for everything. And making sure Bulla'll have some too.
Action
I do think...we'll go home someday. Whatever home is still there waiting for us.
[An answer they didn't even have. Given the circumstances immediately prior to arriving in Genessia.]
In the meantime... [She paused. Holding on a moment longer before reluctantly pulling away.] I'll set up something for Bulla while you finish and shower. We can leave it in the ice box for her so it'll stay fresh.
Re: Action
Home will be where we're together, if nothing else.
[Soft but determined, and no protest when she pulled away.]
Maybe message her too, so she knows to look? Along with her name on stuff.
Action
[There was a touch of humor to her tone, despite the fact that the words rang all too true to her ears. How much she believed the sentiment was left ambiguous, however, as she got up and headed back for the kitchen. Taking one last bite of her own meal along the way.]
I'll leave a note on the icebox. She'll see it. Eventually.
Re: Action
I'm kind of amazed everyone's respected the 'name-claim' rules on food too.
Action
Probably don't want to give anyone an excuse to start taking their food in turn.
Re: Action & Closing
[Moving to place his empty dishes nearby, and then a touch against her shoulder.]
Thank you again, Mai. For everything.
[As much as her presences was a balm, and he'd had a stressful day, Trunks was definitely feeling a need to unwind and let his brain start to deal with everything. So off to that shower now. Mai had helped, and hopefully she knew how much Trunks did love and appreciate her.]
