Following the recent spooky happenings in Everglade and Fayren, people could use some time to wind down and cool off after the fact. Knowing this, Gale sent out a mass invite to come by Hangar Queen for a day of mingling. He's waving the cost of food and drink for the day (given what he makes, he can take the financial hit), so people can just relax and have a good time. A special note is made to remind people that all ages are permitted and alcoholic and non-alcholic drinks are available, with alcohol available for ages 16 and over. Just don't cause any trouble and Gale will see no reason to throw anyone out. The club's mascot is even there for pictures! So why not swing by, even if for a short while? There's nothing to lose. Except your time.

Just be prepared to hear Danger Zone played a lot. It's a moral obligation for this club. Sorry (not sorry).

[Free food and alcohol? Well, no need to tell her to come along twice, even if she wasn't really... here for the ordeal this was made for. Whatever, doesn't matter. Either way, Jolyne is just chilling at one of the tables after having to explain a few times to a poor waitress what the hell a Rum Runner was since this wasn't, you know, Florida.

Either way, she's watching the majority of the people around the place and trying not to look too out of place for the whole newbie thing. With resting bitch face, she probably isn't the most inviting person in here.]

[excuse him while he plonks down next to her, drink in hand.]

Hey hey, miss listener! How are you doing tonight? Having fun? [his grin is wide, friendly and lucky for her he's on the sober side of tipsy.]

[Someone just sitting down next to her without asking isn't... unusual, but in this place she should have expected as much. Which might be why her moment of bristling is slowly soothed over and she's just watching her glass once it's being brought over to her.]

Depends on your definition of fun. It's more fun than being torn apart or having to deal with another bastard with power just thrown at them or having a grudge against you for just your existence and name. [Laying it on a little thick there, Jolyne. But she's realizing how much she's said and is just rubbing her face with her free hand.]

[At this point she wouldn't know the difference anyway, though it seems he's at least getting the... nicer and less pissy version of her, so that's a step in the right direction.]

[he doesn't wanna explain heroism right now, he just wants to chill out and have a good conversation.]

Japanese? [Of course she'd notice that, she doesn't know too much about it given that whole side of the family is... scarce, but it's not too hard to pick out names here and there.

But she's laughing, just a small bitter noise before she's turning her attention to the ceiling.]

It's not pessimistic when you really don't know. Kind of the whole deal when some jackass you were trying to stop is accelerating time to kill off everyone and restart the world. If you die, then do you still exist outside of time or do you even get a chance if no one remotely remembers you exist?

[That's a little vague, but she doesn't seem to be keen on saying too much more detail on it unless pressed.]

[Resting bitch face in a place around Gale is really only bound to bring him over to be a bother. But that wasn't the only reason. Gale was the one coming over to give Jolyne her drink.]

One Rum Runner for the lady.

[He set the glass in front of her. Despite the waitress' confusion, the drink looked pretty accurate, at least! He's pretty confident he got it right. He knows how to follow instructions.]

Sorry 'bout the confusion for the order. Lemme know if I got it right. This was the first Rum Runner order we got.

[What the hell, Gale. Though her expression is softening for a brief moment when she's seeing that's her drink and is just going to take a nice long drink from it before answering. With a small hum as she contemplates just each little taste from it.]

If that's your first one, I have to say, not a bad job of it. Didn't expect anyone to really know what it was outside of Florida, anyway. [Or places further south, but that's beside the point.]

Given it's not just some waitress coming over here, I take it you're the owner of this place? [She's nothing if not observant.]
