Action
[It had been some time since Mewtwo was active in the city proper, having come to the city more out of curiosity than anything. It was surprising how fast the damage to the city had been repaired, considering the scope of the damage, it would have taken normal humans far longer without the aid of Pokemon, prompting a rather intensive investigation that turned up... nothing. He had reached his wits end, really. In a last ditch effort to try to unravel this mystery, he sought out a quiet place to meditate. Maybe that would help in his efforts.]
[The spot he chose was near the Library, the mental calm and studious nature the building seemed to foster of its inhabitants proving to be rather soothing to the psychic. He hovered a few feet off the ground as a blue sphere engulfed him. He crossed his legs and wrapped his tail around into his lap, closing his eyes for a moment. When they opened again, they shone a brilliant blue, his consciousness expanding and focusing on the ground, seeing if he could detect any irregularities in the place itself.]
[As he meditates, anything nearby will begin to orbit him. Dirt, grass clippings, water from a fountain nearby, all of it begins to orbit him, making the creature stand out that much more, as if he were replicating a model atom on a larger scale.]

What is strange is the pulse of power that she feels before she sees anything. Her perception reaches out in response, questioning the wavelength--who are you? What comes back to her is power, inhuman power, laced with fear and pain--it feels almost like a wounded animal and it's all Maka can do to resist breaking into a sprint to find the thing immediately. First she figures out where it is, she brings out her soul's force as a shield as she approaches. She doesn't want to get overwhelmed by the unknown wavelength, after all.]

It's out of surprise more than the need to relax that she drops the shield, flickers of incandescent feathers flitting away into nothingness. Anybody else would see a regular teenage girl circling around a living model of an atom. To Maka, it's examining this odd psychic pull--careful to give it a wide berth so she doesn't get pulled in. Yes, this is definitely the source of that power, yes, she still feels the fear and pain, yes, whatever it is has great psychic ability--possibly more so than even Kid.]
...Hello?
no subject
[He blinks again, eyes returning to the non-glowing purple, as the orbiting bits of debris simply fell as the blue sphere vanished and he set his feet on the ground, stretching his tail for a moment before finally addressing Maka.]
Can I help you?
no subject
Things Maka has not had experience with: animals talking in her head. She winces for a moment, pressing a hand to her brow, then shakes it off.]
Um...sorry to bother you, but I sensed your soul and all the power you were putting out and came to see if you were in trouble.
no subject
I am more than capable of taking care of myself. ...Yet I find myself curious as to how a human that has no psychic abilities could simply sense my power, let alone my soul.
no subject
["Yours felt distressed" is what she would say if she didn't feel like this creature is liable to lash out. An animal that's fearful and in pain is very dangerous.]
It's empathic, to use an old term.
no subject
And empath... there are few in my world that possess that ability... to take the burdens of others onto themselves... to understand without misconception. However... they are not human.
[Something about this whole conversation felt off, but he couldn't put his finger on it. If she could see his soul, what did she see? What had she felt?]
If you can 'hear' my song, then tell me, Ms. Audino... what did you hear?

Watch out Mewtwo! Potential hugs and warm fuzzies incoming!
She had been wandering the park, looking for something to do when she noticed him and wandered quietly over, staring up at the floating blue ball of energy. It was quite a sight really. Ever curious, and with little regard to any measure of safety, she wandered closer, third eye swaying from side to side.
Normally this would be fine. Her natural abilities would maks her from Mewtwo's detection and allow him to meditate undisturbed. Of course, things don't always work out for the best. She reached out both mentally and physically. A tiny hand brushed away the orbiting debris, reaching out to try and grab and tug on the closest thing which, in this case, was his tail. Her mind, in turn, settled its chilly presence around him, quietly examining. The action certainly wasn't hostile, but it was unsettling none the less.
"Excuse me. Hello? What are you? You're glowing really brightly."
:3
However, when he felt the ghostly hand on his tail, he snapped back to reality. The sphere around him solidifying into a shield as he hovered backward, putting some distance between himself and whatever ghost he had attracted. It took him a second to realize he was the only wold Pokemon left in this world, and that the presence he had dismissed earlier was still there. When he saw her, he sighed, lowering his shield and falling back on his normal area telepathic messages to try and scold her for disturbing him.

Once more she approached him, floating effortlessly up into the air... And reaching forward to tap or knock on the hardened shield. Fortunately he dropped it before she could make too much of a pest of herself.
Trying to make telepathic contact with her, it would immediately become clear that there was something very wrong. Her mind was void like. A hole that sucked up and destroyed any psychic pressure or probing directed at her. No doubt his telekinesis would function normally, but he wouldn't be able to read or sense her at all. Even physically. It was like she didn't even exist.
"You're very purple." An astute observation... She drifted closer leaning very much into his personal space, blinking several times. She paused, brow furrowing. "Oh... Oh! You're doing something to my head. It's so distant. Purple thing you can't do anything to my head. It's broken. I'm sorry about that. Sis wishes she could read my mind too but she can't anymore."

Still, he would have to come up with some way of communicating if there was going to be any more meaningful discourse than simple gesturing and pantomime. His eyes scanned the area for a moment, trying to find something that he could use for writing. When nothing presented itself, he sighed, a raspy and almost sickly sounding "Mew" escaping his lips.
He darted to the side, with the dual intention of getting her out of his personal space as well as using a psy-blade to cut up some of the nearby grass. A bit of careful manipulation of the grass, and a message appeared floating in the air.
'What are you'
no subject
He could feel her chilly presence hovering around his mind... It was as if she WAS psychic just... inverted maybe? No that's not quite right...
"Please don't be upset." She pursed her lips. "You're swirling so quickly now. You don't have to be afraid." She had empathetic abilities. This might make things easier.
She giggled at the sound. "You have a cute voice."
She raised her eyebrows as he darted to the side, floating much more lazily after him. She stopped short though when the psy-blade appeared, the grass forming floating words. She stared at them for a long moment before breaking out into a huge grin. "Oh! I'm sorry I'm Koishi Komeiji!" With little regard to his space, she thrust her hands forward, taking his and shaking it vigorously. "It's nice to meet you! I'm a satori youkai but don't be scared, okay? I can't read minds anymore."

'I do not like' 'to be touched'
no subject
"Oh. It's good to be touched. It's good for the mind and can help you relax." All the same, she didn't touch him again. Instead she floated to one side, circling him, her third eye drifting in close. It felt a little different from the rest of her. It had the faintest of presences, but it was also the source of the void-like cloak that surrounded her.
"You have a really powerful mind. What are you? I quite like you. You're purple!" Again with the purple.

Bridget sighed just as she'd actually gotten herself comfortable. Mewtwo's presence was quite close and she found herself smiling just a little.
Hello again. It's been a while for me but it's nice to feel a familiar mind.
no subject
It has been some time, yes. While I cannot say it is unpleasant, I do not share the same familiarity.
no subject
It's been over two years for me though it might have only been two or three months here.
no subject
It's not that he doesn't like you, Bridget. It's that you're human. Or at least appear human. That's a couple strikes against her right there. Against 99% of the population, really.
Yes, time seems to be a rather convoluted and fluctuating thing in general, if the legends of my world are to be believed, and this place seems to be stuck in the center of time's whirlpool.
