[A gloved hand made its way to Orihime's shoulder. A gentle gesture. His face may seem emotionless, but the touch should be enough to tell her it wasn't a burden to keep her there. Once long ago, it was his task to care for lost souls - before he was betrayed.]

And send you out there? To a place where there is no one capable of bringing you back from that daze she's been placing you on?

It's getting worse, and the coverage of the nightmares are increasing more and more. [It was fun to watch everyone squirm, but it would have been preferable if Orihime could control the power.]

[The nightmares are spreading?! This is terrible! Her gaze snaps back to his face, her expression alarmed. Guilt bows her head, her shoulder wilting under the gentle grasp of his hand.]

Then it has to be the other option...doesn't it...?

[She wishes she could say she's not afraid to die, but when faced with the very real probability of such a thing, a selfish part of her balks. She wants to live. But the cost of continuing to live seems to be growing too high.]

I know it's a terrible thing to ask you. Or anyone, really. But if that's what it takes, it's okay. I wouldn't hold a grudge.

[For a moment, Lucifer's brows momentarily furrows. Was she talking about killing herself?]

Is there really no way to control it?

If I kill you, there might be a chance you won't return. Or worse, you might return with whatever is inside you having full control of your body.

I think the latter is going to happen no matter what I do.

[It hurts to admit it, because she hates the thought of failing something this terrible. Everyone dies, she's not afraid of meeting her end eventually. But to lose herself so completely is terrifying, to forever be a passenger in her own body.]

I tried so hard, but nothing is working, Lucifer-san. And...and I'm tired. I've been fighting for so long, only to watch it get worse and worse. Isn't it better if I can end it on my own terms?

[This was not fun to see at all. She looked so broken. It was almost like a human succumbing to a demon possession and losing all means to fight it.]
